Is olofmeister peak strongest of all time?
CIS DELUSIONAL_RX570_FUN
1. Most dominant 1 year era of all time in CS:GO history (fnatic's 2015 better than Astralis's 2018) 2. The strongest player of that period for sure. 3. Could play any position for his team. 4. Wasn't "key" player of his team, like s1mple or ZywOo (i mean, he was strongest of all fnatic roster, but didn't recieve any good positions or AWP every round, like these two did) 5. Won against s1mple 1v1 map back then.

1. NiP's 2013 was far more dominant. 2. Yes but not by much. dev1ce, GuardiaN and Happy had a better rating in 2015. kennyS was the best player in early 2015. 3. When was olof the IGL or the support for fnatic? 4. Umm yes he was.....? He was a star player surrounded by lesser stars. 5. He refused to play a rematch against s1mple and admitted he was afraid of him.

1. NiP 2013 - 9 tournaments win, 0 majors. Fnatic 2015 - 10 tours won, 2 majors in a row. 2. Far the best, only GuardiaN could match him, but he didn't, did he? You can read HLTV's thread about olofmeister's top 1 ranking of 2015 hltv.org/news/16863/top-20-players-of-20.. 3. I mean, he could replace his teammates on different positions of the map if they had bad day. 4. Yes he was and didn't received better positions, AWP and his teammates didn't bait for him. 5. It was joke.

also, the reason NIP were dominant in 2013 is because they were the only players who dedicated themselves to CSGO when everyone was still busy in CS 1.6 and CSS, that gave them an advantage over all the teams that followed them later to CSGO

"the most competitive era" who was the competition and how close were they? i'm not taking from Astralis their era and major wins, but they took the game to a whole other level while teams were dropping rosters and recreating new ones, their playstyle actually gave them the same advantage NIP had in 2013 when no one knew how to adjust to the new game mechanics
2020-10-28 09:34

this teams were dropping rosters argument could work if they didnt win 3 Majors in a row and pretty much dominate every event they entered. Anyone who doesnt think this is the most competitive era in CS is delusional, ask any pro they would say the same thing. Astralis > Fnatic > SK

i said that their new PLAYSTYLE gave them the same advantage, it's not new game mechanics, it's their utility playstyle that gave them an extra advantage

Thats just not correct. Astralis era was one of the least competitive ones we've had. The SK era was probably the most competitive era of CS.

1. There’s no definitive answer to who had the strongest era. However I’m sure a majority of people agree astralis had the most dominant era 2. If you say so 3. Don’t think that contributes to making his peak the strongest 4. Also not sure how that makes him the strongest. You’re basically just saying he had good teammates 5. CSGO is not a 1v1 aim map. So don’t know how that is relevant as well Overall 0/8 b8

1. Okey. 2. Okey. 3. Then what? Making frags while standing behind and when your teammates are rushing? 4. Okey, so, to become strongest player you need shit teammates that give you positions and drop, and ofc you don't need to win many tournaments, it's too hard for "the strongest". 5. Yeah, just put it as a fact. ty for opinion xd.
2020-10-26 19:19

3. You said he could play any position in your original statement. So you meant to say he can entry frag Or something?. 4. I didn’t say he needed shit teammates. I‘m just translating what your original sentence really means. I think zywoo and s1mple get dropped the awp because their teammates know if they don’t they’re gonna lose. Also it’s not like Olof didn’t get dropped an AK on hero buy rounds and pronax would take a hit

ELEAGUE Atlanta: beat NaVi in a bo3(went all 3 maps), beat Fnatic in a bo3(despite being on the decline, still able to beat top 10 teams and Cache went to OT), beat VP in a bo3(when VP was resurging back into the scene, in fact a week later, VP won DH Las Vegas over Astralis) Difficulty of ELEAGUE Atlanta: 8.5/10, The story of Astralis always choking and the first time they're playing with Kjaerbye at a major made this one difficult. They barely scrapped by in the major final against VP(possibly 1-2 rounds away from losing) and VP actually beat them the next week FACEIT London 2018: nothing big happened in the legends stage aside from Liquid beating them in a bo1, beat FaZe in a bo3(on any given day, FaZe can beat any team so this matchup is always scary for Astralis and the maps were close, 16-14 and 16-12), beat Liquid in a bo3(not that close, Liquid just looked outmatched, but nonetheless Liquid was a good team, psychologically weak vs Astralis), beat NaVi in a bo3(again, not that close, I would probably say even worse than Liquid) Difficulty of FACEIT London 2018: 6/10, only real scare was Liquid in the legends stage and FaZe in the quarterfinals, average difficulty but did outplay the 3 top 5 teams in the champions stage, made them look lost, hard in terms of ranking, easy for Astralis IEM Katowice 2019: nothing big in the groups aside from Renegades beating them on Mirage, beat NiP in bo3(almost 16-0'd them on Mirage despite it being their 2nd ban most of the time, almost lost on Dust 2(16-14), NiP had a shot of taking them on Map 3 which was Overpass, a strong map for NiP), beat MIBR in bo3(once again, a very close map in Overpass, 16-14 for astralis, had a chance to go to Train but in this case, I think Astralis beats MIBR anyways), beat ENCE in a bo3(Train wasn't as 1 sided as some may believe, many Astralis T side rounds were on the back of clutches, could've easily went the other way, Astralis still would've won on Overpass however) Difficulty of IEM Katowice 2019: 7.5/10, slighty harder than FACEIT as 3 teams nearly beat them in a map in 3 different series, didn't have to face Liquid, NaVi, or FaZe in the final who all have the skill to beat Astralis on any given day StarLadder Berlin 2019: legends stage, Loss in a bo3 to NRG on Train/Nuke, loss in 1 map in a bo3 to CR4ZY on Dust 2. Beat Liquid in a bo3(let's be real, this was supposed to be the real final, Astralis really outplayed Liquid on Vertigo, their CT side poised and controlling, on Overpass Astralis studied Liquid just enough to pull through with a 16-13, could've gone the other way very easily, last map Inferno who knows what happens, tough match), beat NRG in a bo3(Train was not as one sided as the map score says, many rounds were off the back of clutches like device 1v3 which set the tone for the rest of the match and Astralis were just able to frontrun, NRG still battled back with 10 rounds but easily could've gotten more and maybe the map win if they handled the clutches better, beat AVANGAR in a bo3(no comment, easy match, nobody really expected them to be here) Difficulty of StarLadder Berlin 2019: 5.5/10, about the same as FACEIT, Liquid 16-13 Overpass, NRG beating them in the groupstage, potentially goes 3 maps with both Liquid and NRG

2020-10-28 07:19
in my opinion yes, because he used to play not giving a fuck, ultra agressive, opening insane space, doesnt matter the gun, could be eco, force buy, gun round, etc and that was the magical thing about prime fnatic, they just did defaults and made the round a mess lmao coldzera was the most consistent of all time in terms of winning being mvp, insane stats etc but he was always last alive, olof was opening space all the time device is the most consistent in history overall but never was so expressive like GTR, cold and olof to me olof is the goat, Ive never seem something like that ever, kids that talk about s1mple nowdays would call olof a cheater or some bullshit like that lmao
2020-10-28 07:27

olof was the last player who could literally make his enemies look like noobs. Like shox before that and f0rest and a lot of others. Nowadays, all teams are too well prepared and players are too strong in decision making, so that it is not possible for a single player to have so many impactful rounds. aRT seems to be an exception, but he pays for his attempts in some games and is not as strong on CT as olof. But if NA cs keeps declining overall, maybe a new player of that style can emerge there :P

that is why i think olof is so good, remember that fnatic had cobblestone and train their map pool just because olof could win 5 t rounds on his own pushing the same things? he casually walks up a long of cobblestone and get two kills somehow

I disagree, players like device and cold also made enemies look like noobs, but not so much as olof... and about art, is the same as s1mple... both didnt do anything expressive yet like the GOATS, like fucking up 5x big lans in a year etc, cs back in the day had more space for that too, perfect timing and perfect performance make olof the goat for me!! this wont happen again, cs just doesnt have the space, teamplayers > highlight makers

Idk I still feel like Astralis dominance is by far THE GREATEST considering the level of competition that time, and how in the modern times the tactics and mistakes of the past has been applied and reworked. Astralis winning was SO FUCKING BORING and that has to mean something. It felt like in every tournament they were already the default champion and as a viewer you knew it deep inside no matter how hard you deny it.

I would agree, but i dont think that Fnatic's 2015 was > than astralis 2018.

Valid points, hard to argue against olof. But personally I found coldzera a bit stronger. This guys peek was just insane. I know baiter etc, nothing without taco blabla. And it's all true, he did get a lot of help. But thats what you do when you have a strong player like him. You try to put him in the most favourable positions and enable him to make the best out of his talent. And he did. Also he was more than capable to stand his own without help, when he needed to, which he often did. There are more than enough 1vX clutch highlights of him to proof that. He was the first player in CSGO that made me think, he could be better than NEO was in 1.6

Dunno but seeing those tec-9 rampages was infuriating if you were not a fnatic fan. So just for that fact alone Id put him up there.

I wouldn't say it was nerfed because olof alone, it was the whole team but fair point. I was just trying to point out that if we truly speak only about peak than it's got to be Kenny and I say this even with me not liking him

astralis 2018, 2019 > fnatic 2015
2020-10-28 14:29
Up until 2017, parity didn’t really exist in CSGO ... - so to claim one Era “is better” than another is kinda naive at Best, being ignorant and oblivious, at worst ... Nip’s unbeaten streak on Nuke was and still is an impressive feat, just as Fnatic’s back-to-back wins were, however, neither Nip nor Fnatic were near as dominant during their peak heights, as Astralis were during their impressive run ...
2020-10-28 15:17
Not the strongest peak but he was an entryfragger so that makes him the best imo

although olof is my favourite player of all time 1. cold 2. olof different players and in a way you could argue that olof was more impactful as he was kind of an entry/aggresive lurk (will never forget his cbble b plat push solo) but i just think cold had much bigger impact on clutches etc

Relative to the year maybe, but the general skill level of pro cs was so much lower back then. There's a reason why get_right, f0rest, olof, etc. are shit nowadays. Age doesn't matter that much, they just simply couldn't keep up. I'd bet my left nut that for example current heroic would destroy peak nip.
