Sure death from covid is just death. It is not worst. But the question is the amount of them.
For exemple, in the US, for the first 6 month of 2020, that's more than 300k more death compared to a normal year. And not only old people.
Because when all beds in a hospital are occupied by covid patients, even if they are old, even if they are other preexisting conditions, then you cannot take care of a car crash because there is no one left to handle those.
According to the US numbers that means that for any COVID case confirmed dead, there is another person who died. Perhaps because it was a non detected covid, or because he couldn't be treated by the healthcare system overloaded by covid patient.
That's how serious this disease is. Not because of its 5% untreated or 0.5% under care death rate. Which is very low (yet 20 time more deadly than a flu) but because of how contagious and crippling it is.
