I think the songs are shit but I wouldn't say they're cringe. They're just trying to support their people with the platform they've been given. There's nothing inherently cringey about trying.
have you tried restarting?
Protect the Land: Really long for no reason, lyrics repeat to much, missed a great breakdown possibility with the main riff, singing kinda boring where are serj's screams and high notes.

Genocidal Humanoidz: Classic soad style singing/weirdness, blastbeat oO, lot more interesting than PTL, Compact, would fit well on a B-Side.

Overall: Good sound, but kinda meh songs that dont enter my playlist. They still fit great together as a band and maybe the war will spark a new album, which surely would have some great songs again, especially if it isn't just daron writing.

i just dont like low quality mp3's, alot of old stuff isnt available or only as remasters, i dont want to pay for it and i hate ads. I dont like smartphones either, i just have a 4-5 year old cheap ass android phone and its prepaid aswell(so no internet flat). and why would i listen to songs through the shittest possible medium(phone) when i have a flac player.
I am very specific, almost autistic with what i listen to and in what quality it has to be, i used spotify for a few weeks years ago and i just hated everything about it. i do use youtube sometimes if i want to find something or just listen to it through speakers.

Im not against tech at all, i am addicted to computers since i am 14 years old, i am an electrotechnician and most of my life revolves around tech. its only smartphones and spotify that i highly dislike for their own specific reasons.
I play guitar and (e-)drums, trying to learn some keyboard rn, but i suck at it :P

okaay I think I remember why I don't really like him. I LOVE daren on choruses but I think serj fits better as a lead singer. Because it sounds exactly like a SOAD song, those guitar riffs haven't changed at all. Also, I don't hate it but... daren is kind of whiny sounding? I do like they say the most by far

yeah, I totally understand. I find his voice very unique and I kinda like it, but I have few friends with same opinion as yours, that they just dont like his voice, or at least not as the lead singer.

Protect the Land feels like Soldier Side and Soldier Side is my least favorite SOAD song so I didn't like it. Genocidal Humanoidz sounds like something from the System of A Down album but worse. At least Serj's voice sounds somewhat decent unlike in his live performances. Feel like if Serj screamed in Genocidal Humanoidz it would've been a 100 times better, but I guess he can't anymore.
It's just nice to have music from them after 15 years lmao
doesn't quite hold up to their previous stuff, feels a bit rushed and more tame, but hey, new music is new music
