It's true.
Maybe they do it without money involved and without the will to lie, but a lot of the benchmarks out there doesn't represent actual workloads and the reality of the industry.
For example, in any soft like Adobe/Autodesk/Blender they do render tests (video, images,3d...) where AMD is way faster in most of those because they have more cores, but 99% of the time when you use those softs, you are tweaking and creating, not rendering, so those benchmarks are useless (for everyone minus render boy), since the real workload on a studio environment is not rendering all day, in fact, is just a small portion of the team the ones who do that, and the thing gets worst, when you realize most of the render engines out there are gearing to gpu nowadays.
