corona deaths!
Austria Angelo_Merte
So today's media showed statistic that the average age of death from this virus is 75+ years old. And younger people with diabetes and respiratory failures in the past. is the sacrifice of our next 5 years worth the what mayb 7k deaths we had since 9 months here?

I think we should all just sit on hltv forums for the next 20 years and ride it out

The point is not overwhelming the nation's healthcare system, because at that point the risk of mass death increases exponentially

this is true but this already would work, if everyone who had pre conditions would stay at home. mostly they are already retired and don't benefit the economy in anyway. no need to shut down the whole country and face bigger problems in the future.

Yeah, you shouldn't shut down the country. But, common sense safety measures should be taken (masks, limited socializing, etc). I think there's a balance you can strike, but if you reach a critical mass of infections you need to shut everything down to avoid mass suffering

I completely agree with you, it's just that I'm not sure it's worth it to cripple a whole country and potentially destroy it due to Covid. The elderly and people with preexisting conditons should have more restrictions than the rest though.

i dont think secluding only the people part of the risk group is effective, cause most people have families, and if the other members keep going out they still get somewhat high chance to contract it from those who are leaving the house regularly

I hate the people who go to the trouble of putting a mask on but they have it on their chin or under their nose. Then they say it is uncomfortable, doesn't help or some other bullshit. How soft can you be that you can't wear a simple mask. You don't have to go to the army or anything like that, just wear something that covers your face

True, thats what most people don't understand Ive heard by many idiots " They should lift all measures for people under 60, Even if a few percent of them get sick, theyll just go to the hospital for a week and be a bit sick". That may work short term, but as soon as the hospitals fill, they won't be able to anymore and have to wait it out at home without a respirator and are likely to die.

Since March every human with a brain tries to explain this but somehow in over 7 Month you still dont understand what it means to flatten the curve. 1. You can end in a bad health situation no matter how old are you and how fit you are!!! 2. You can end up on an ventilator You will probably not die like an 75+ years old but you can end up for 2 Weeks on the Vent. If the Numbers too high and the Ventilators are blocked by masses of people, the floors of the Hospitals get filled with corpses pretty fast and your 75+ will sink drastically, furthermore a wide spread of the virus could end in pretty much more nasty evolutions of the Virus ... thats it. Nothing more nothing less ----> flatten the curve to relieve the hospitals.

We have lower cases because we had SARS in 2003 and since the corona was just beginning in China, the whole country was scared af and went to auto-lockdown mode. Everyone who comes in the country in 2020 is escorted from the airport to be quarantined at an isolated location for 2 weeks straight with continuous tests. All social history of any covid patient is posted online and all F1 F2 people who had contact with the person within 2 weeks is tested and quarantined immediately. We simply accepted economy loss instead of letting the disease spread.

I guess he implied that #corona deaths depends very much on how many deaths you want to count as corona casualties. I would agree, that there is also the option to not test for corona when a deceased person is known to be multimorbid already and perhaps such a way of counting will lead to a lot less cases

Uhm, what does GDP have to do with death rate exactly? NY is busier than any place in Kazakhstan and also it's in one of the busiest countries in the world. NY (or US, doesn't matter.) gets visitors from all over the world and since the population is denser, the spread of virus is far easier. And also, since it got hit massively at the beginning, the healthcare system gets a harder work to do and that also helps virus.

And that is connected to covid-19 how? A mask worn on an infected person blocks 50% of the virus they excrete. An FFP2 mask worn on a person blocks about 90% of the virus they breath in. Which means if both infected and healthy people wear masks and they keep the distance of a couple of meters between each other - the healthy ones are much less likely to get infected. And it's up to the people to either behave the certain way to dramatically reduce the possibility of getting infected or to get someone else infected or to behave like capricious and stubborn children or worse - like adults that know they can cause someone else's death but just don't care, like those drunk drivers that choose to drive when drunk.

Its not about what happens when you die, but how you live the life you have. Even a 75+ year old still has a life to live, still has things to enjoy, even if he has a few years left. The whole point a lot of people say is: "Oh well he is really old, well fuck that, who cares if he dies? He is old anyways." Which is wrong in itself. It doesnt matter if the person has 2 years to live or 20, it is still their lives and their time they can spend.

Yeah that does make sense. Also saw something about PCR tests being able to be triggered by not only dead virus, but also do false positives. Ofc there will then also be false negatives, but the numbers will still have inaccuracies. I just don't know how severe it is

THIS IS THE WAY!
2020-11-19 10:26
yea and how many do you think dies from just lung cancer every year, way way more, but right now instead of actually helping kids and families with cancer and other things we spent so much money on corona, the average amount of money spent on preventing someone dying from corona is like 5 times higher than what you normally would spent on a humans life, and most of the people we are trying to save is 75+

If one can’t handle a year of pandemic then that person is a fragile pussy. Don’t take anything for granted, empires have collapsed within hours.

this is all pure politics and fear mongering at this point. The fact that people are not yet dragging politicians and media fuckers through the streets speaks much about our sheepness

xD dude you can see it in every statistic for every virus/bacterial infection. In winter it spikes up due to the immune system being weaker.

Yes and that is why we have 8 degrees now in Poland and 666 ppl covi-die every day and in Beijing 4 degrees and there are only 12 infections a day in whole China. Cool story bro.

The immune system won't be weaker, if you adequately support it. Normal people doesn't have to though, only people with deficiencies that does so that they have no deposits in their body to drain from when it comes to specific vitamins.

Yes! Keep telling yourself that every country on Earth is telling the people the same lies to cripple their own economies! Makes perfect sense, right?

If it makes sense or not is irrelevant. The fact is that we are crossing the Rubicon of subservience and now the Pandora box is open.

"sacrifice" bro ur just sitting at home the a hundred years ago young people like us would go to war, get confined in a trench, with a gas mask for sometimes weeks, eating rats to fight the famine because the food is not coming, seeing your friends go insane as they think they are stuck in the bunkers and trenches, your comrades bleeding out... Thats a sacrifice, a trauma for 20 years.

BTW Germany Grundgesetz denies the opportunity to sacrifice a life for another. So Germany at least have to fight for the 7k until the end.
