*Very basic beat like basically any rap song, nothing interesting there.
*Lyrics, didn't make me care, I had no idea what he was even saying unless I bother looking up what the lyrics and try to understand it.
*His voice itself lacked any emotion, just sounded like those 12 year old classmates who are reading off the paper during presentations and sound stale af. So he didn't make me give a fk about what he was saying either.

I absolutely love jazz blues soul rnb folk rock and anything in between and I am a pretty good musician myself and i find heavy metal to be pointless and unmusical. I cannot connect with it. This is so dumb, most of these are not mainstream at all to begin with. Besides the fact thats its all just subjective and each genre has good and bad music.

The first problem with metal is that what's popular in the mainstream world these days is either shit or actually not metal at all. Chugging and screamo isn't metal. No one sane can say that Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, early Metallica, early Megadeth, early Judas Priest, Pantera, Dream Theater, Dio or other semi-metal acts like Deep Purple, Rainbow, Kyuss and so on are trash.
The second problem is that metal is a generally over the top and grating style which often detracts people and doesn't let them fully understand the (mostly) excellent musicianship displayed by all the players. Extreme sub-genres like thrash, death and black metal, and even more tame ones like prog, stoner/doom and power metal have so many variations and merits that once you truly get into it, you'll never leave, as they set up very specific moods and atmospheres that you can't really find in any other genre.
Within the same genre you'll find bands that are polar opposites of each other, in theme and sound. The problem is that most people can't handle loudness coupled with complexity and are quick to dismiss something as shit just because it defies they're established perception of what is sonically comfortable.
And all those options there on the list have something to be liked, though I'd say country makes a good case for the title.

Well, I meant the genre as a whole and thinking about the more chill stoner acts or the classic doom ones like Candlemass, Pentagram, Cathedral, Trouble, Saint Vitus, etc. Of course the more sludgy acts are pretty abrasive like Eyehategod, Buzzoven, Dopethrone, Conan or Acid Bath but if we're talking overall genres, then every single death and black metal bands are extreme by the style definition while with doom that's not the case.

Well you have to admit that's a very inaccessible genre. I, for example, absolutely love death metal but when it comes to brutal/slam, i'm a bit pickier. I do like the more known bands, like Necrophagist, Cryptopsy, Nile and Suffocation but I don't feel compelled to explore much further than that.
As for that song you linked, I'll check their 2012 album for sure. 25 minutes should be an easy listen ahah

best musics are the ones that provokes feelings on you, whether of joy, of hype, a good music carries sentiment.
i can name some pretty good songs that don't have anymore than 5-6 chords.. quality for me is in the meaning and flow of the song, not it's complexity or theoretical quality

Country is my vote and the reasoning is that country music is mostly, as far as I know, very lyric based, same as rap, but in Country music it feels like the weigh in lyrics is hard and the music itself is quite simple usually compared to other styles in that list.
just my two cents, and I admit that I haven't listened to country music that much so it might be that I just don't know those songs that are more "complicated" than just mellow guitar and easy drum beats..
