Atm I am quite addicted to chess, just beat 2000 elo chess machine without help. It chess it just makes you feel so intelligent to smash your opponent after a close game. So what are your favourite openings and defenses?
If I had to pick only one for each maybe italian game and hoping to get evans gambit accepted or even fried liver attack as white and caro-kann defense on black against e4 (for better end game pawn structure). I used to enjoy french defense quite some time until developed into caro-kann player.
Agree, Chess.com or lichess.org/learn#/ ist a very good start. If you like videos more, mby. even look at some of the first videos the unexperienced pogchamp streamers did with Hikaru or Naroditsky... Kinda cool to have very basic theory explained by GMs. But I would not learn specific opening theory before 1000-1200elo... Because learning the basics is much more important, and also a lot more fun:)
I am 28yo and have liven in many different cities. I am sort of social butterfly always out on fridays and saturday, thousands of facebook friends. New city and new school is the best way to get loads of new familiar faces.
I'm now around 2050 elo fide. I'm an e4 player.
As white I play the Vienna game on e5 and a fianchetto on the sicilian. On d4 I play the Grunfeld, and c4 a kings indian type defense. Against the london I try a slav-like defense and on e4 the alekhine defense.
Like everyone does. Stay off those until you learn tactics. I recommend you buy chess books to learn theory, more than videos online. I have around 40 chess books and they're very helpful. I'm only 16 so i've not studied them all but time will come and you can do the same too
