That "inconsistency" goes for all teams. Besides, doesn't astralis have the tied most tier 1 event wins with 2?

I meant more the esetag / bubzki / xyp / glaive situation. Not gonna say Astralis isn't a team capable of a tournament win in any given tournament but they were not as invincible as in recent years and that also had an impact on devices performance. Just checked, depending on the ranking filter one uses he is between 3rd and 6th this year... most closely challenged by Niko, ropz and Blame.

Astralis have 2 wins. Complexity have 1 and really it's not tier 1. 2 of the top 3 teams are missing. That means it's not tier 1. All top 3 teams have to participate to make it a tier 1 event.
2020-11-23 13:02

now you are just pulling definitions from whereever you want mate... but okay lets go into that: > Astralis have 2 wins. No?! ESL Pro League and....? > Complexity have 1 and really it's not tier 1. 2 of the top 3 teams are missing. Astralis failed to qualify - by the way by losing to Complexity. The top 3 teams at that point were Navi, Vitality and G2. All three of them were playing in the tournament (and survived the qualifier) - so was the number 4 team by the way. And don't come now with the "current" top 3 - Heroic was ranked 23rd at time of the tournament and Astralis as stated before failed in the qualifier. >All top 3 teams have to participate to make it a tier 1 event. Despite the argument above this simply isn't the case. You just created that definition to suit your narrative.

They have ESL pro league and Road to Rio I actually didn't know that. Im not such a stubborn idiot to not admit i was wrong. My bad, i will count it as a tier 1 event. GJ complexity :D I really like complexity. Not really, of course there is no real definition of what makes a tier 1 event. Just like what makes a team tier 1/2/3, But it's widely accepted that both top 1 and top 2 has to participate. There also needs to be upset potential preferably a top 3/4. of course also a decent amount of other top 10's. When Faze won IEM new york it was not regarded as a tier 1 event win. Because there was to many key teams missing

> They have ESL pro league and Road to Rio same as you I'll admit I was wrong there - R2R completely slipped my mind and it isn't listed seperately on Liquipedia where I tried to fact check before, sorry. And I agree with you that not every Big tournament should count as T1 just because it has a lot of price money... cough...flashpoint...cough

How did achievements help him? He was the most succesful CSGO player in those 2 years. "These rankings are based on how successful the player's team is, the individual performance based on the HLTV Rating 1.0 and Rating 2.0, and MVP/EVP awards given by HLTV."

"Besides, doesn't astralis have the tied most tier 1 event wins with 2?" how many events did they win in 2018 and 2019? and how exactly did those achievments help him in the ranking? in 2018 s1mple was 1st and in 2019 device wasnt even 2nd. s1mple who won literally 1 event and reached only 2 grand finals that year playing in navi - the team that wasnt even top5 that year(8th) and yet s1mple was before device. achievments arent that important anymore. players just have to be relevant enough. device will be 4th/5th

S1mple had much better stats, he also had fairly many MVP's that's why he was able to outperform device. Astralis had a notable week start in 2018 and 2019 wasn't perfect either. Ropz, Niko are the 2 discussed but they have roughly the same stats. That's when MVP's will count and Device will beat them
2020-11-23 13:32

niko has better stats and about which mvps and evps are you talking about? device doesnt have single mvp/evp this year. niko will be before him and blamef could be as well

Niko literally has 0.01 more against top 30 teams. The same goes for BlameF. Niko goes 0.04 under against top 5 teams. Ropz is a bit lower than Device. The point is, it's not stats that are going to determine the outcome. So let's go over the teams point. What has Mousesports done this year, nothing. They have won nothing and have only dissapointed. Ropz is almost certainly not going to win 3rd Complexity has done well this year, but there peak is only at 5th place on the scoreboard a fair bit lower than Astralis who was 1st in 6 weeks and in the top 3 the majority of the time Faze which Niko spent the majority of his time in this year have not done much. They have spent there time between 6th-9th place the lowest out of all 3 teams. I actually thought he won MVP for both r2r and ESL pro league season 12 but neither gave out an MVP. That's my bad. Only 1 person has recieved and HLTV mvp in europe and that's s1mple. Cool

They primarily focus on overall rating unless someone has an amazing adr or impact. Even if you count the other statistics the only one that can really compete is Niko. Blamef and Ropz have low Impact next to there overall stats. Devices ADR is much lower but that's to be expected from someone who primarily awps. Device has a really low DPR next to Niko which also helps him. Looking at the other stats only help Device

people usually call lists because stathunters like niko or players that didnt even attend big events arent the #1 pick but the most consistent players instead. sadly those picks are most likeley to get involved in the official one too

niko has a 1.30 impact rating. if you call that a stathunter i see why your list is so trashy.
2020-11-23 12:26

what you are sadly forgetting is: impact rating in a team called faze setting himself up as an igl. yeah insane achievement getting a high impact rating! niko has had a waaaaay worse year than 2019 where he managed to land a #11 finish. i think after such a bad year it would be pretty fair to leave him here. he didnt succeed with his team, he baited, you can clearly see his stats goot bossted at the expense of the ratings of his former teammates in bymas, olof, kjaerbye, coldzera, rain. he showed inconsistent ratings in g2 now, so at the end still balanced and average for his standards. i see him getting a top 10 finish in 2021 in g2 if they manage to gain success.
