why is it the way it is? Here everyone plays only fifa it feels like and no one takes esports seriously
2020-11-23 22:21
Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
that's normal thing. Nobody in brazil take esports seriously, but 600k people.

how many people in brazil do you think actually care about esports. i don't think it reaches 1mi.

hm.. tough question.. Gaules alone reaches 200k-300k on important matches and NONE of my friends watch gaules (in fact, i don't know anyone that does tbh).. yeah, i don't know if this number makes sense or not haha
2020-11-23 22:30
It feels lile the whole brazil tbh.

In finland we have two races of teenager boys Jonnes and Veetis and which of these they are depends on games thay play for example cs go players are Jonnes and fortnite players are Veetis and it doesnt matter are you a nerd or sporty guy cuz in here every teenager plays some kind of video games
2020-11-24 02:20

sorry my mistake... Veetis can also play cs go but they are usually younger or dumber

i don't think the competition works like that.. the thing is, is there a rason for a team to be created there? i mean, scenes are born from 1-2 teams showing the way and others following it.. the question is for what purpose a team would be created? if you can find an answer for that, you'll eventually have a scene.. if not, than.. yeah, no scene and all your good players will try to seek this opportunity elsewhere.

well in a way they do: 1. Pro player/content creators here play fifa a lot, so people are more likely to check fifa out. Barely any1 from the NL knows even who ChrisJ is. Other than that LLL/ex-DK is the biggest we've seen and even those have had like 3 belgians, its sad to see tbh
2020-11-23 22:30

there's still a way, if someone is interested in creating an event involving foreing teams, this would create interest for the game.. my point is, people don't choose Fifa over CS (nor CS over Fifa for that matter), they are different contents and people most likely watch what is available for them.. i'm sure you have a huge amount of dutch people surfing on EU streams on CSGO.. If someone managed to create good content in Dutch, this could work too.. Gaules is one of the reasons BR has an active young scene and only got popular among youngsters after retirement and maybe this is what ChrisJ will do in the future..
2020-11-23 22:34
5 replies
I wouldnt be surprised if ChrisJ would boost the amount of young talent after his career. I mean, i went to dreamhack Rotterdam and yes it was a bit crowded but still way less showed up if u looked at which teams were playing (VP for example) Either way, if a dutch big youtuber would pick up csgo it would help a lot too yeah, but i dont see that happening anytime soon

well, here's your chance to be famous then.. in BR is becoming quite a thing for low skilled playeres to have a decent audience for streaming.. they compensate the poor games with humour, good content, clip analysis, etc..

it's not that simple... there're shitloads of players (mostly from serbia) which are pretty damn good, and you can hardly call any of them "rookies" (yes, rookies on t1 scene not rookies overall) however usually it's much more complicated than it seems... djoxic impluse emi letni neno dav dimke jayzar ustilo (not sure if he speaks the language, but he should be able to.. never really confirmed that) dumz dumas kressy legija Some of them are retired/idk if they're active (dumas, dumz, jayzar, legija, djocix, impulse) but the thing is.. lack of expirience against better teams, weak map pool, can't figure out solution if they're losing (a lot of rounds in the row) etc etc... Nexa played great when he was a rookie, went to renegades > played like shit, came back > started hard carrying.., Hunter was always godlike, Maden never really had a shot
2020-11-24 13:39

No money in it. It's a miracle Australia has as many good players as it does. On top of that, there isn't the mix like in Eu where you're exposed to players of different regions which makes the competition stronger. But mostly the no money. It doesn't matter how talented you are, real life gets in the way unless it's your job.

2020-11-24 10:01
Dude i come from the same country as you and i can tell you it's not because most people play fifa. It's because alot of the youth is on consoles. And the dutchies that do play CS in my experiance never stick to CS as their main game or simply don't practice enough to consistantly hit their peak. I've seen some real talented dutch cs players but most of them end up swapping gaming for education because gaming in the netherlands is still a big risk for a career choice or simply aren't motivated enough to keep grinding everyday day out.
2020-11-23 23:00
Sadly in india most of the youth cant afford a decent PC, instead mobile gaming scene is booming which is kind of annoying coz they dont see past it.
2020-11-23 23:14
CSGO just isn't as popular or taken seriously as some of the other games. Also there aren't many teams because even if you are good enough nobody will sponsor you
2020-11-23 23:21
People love consoles here, and kid games. Plus most people don't know shit about esports in general. But even considering that, the NA scene isn't too bad)))

valve pretty much neglected the whole of east asia even now and asia in general for a long time, valorant as a simillar game being published by a company like riot, which already has a solid footing in asia and korea especially just gave the not-so-big already cs scene pretty much a killing blow.

Poland is the first and only country that got a major and now don't even have a team in top30, sad but we are working on how to break taz's mercedes curse without selling the car(taz is probably hiding it), i got an idea but it requires me to to get reatz's jacket, it will be hard but wish me luck mens, if you go to the hltv ranking one day and you'll se polish vp at top1 with an old squad you'll know i succeded

2020-11-23 23:50
Depends on cultures I guess. Where I live, I have a lot of asian friends and they are all obsessed with league lmao. Different countries are known for different esports I guess
2020-11-23 23:55
probably because we are poor, otherwise we'd take over the scene (im from uruguay, argentina's province)
2020-11-23 23:57
Not enough sponsors, you cant earn money playing cs go here. And bad internet makes it harder
2020-11-23 23:59
not enough sponsors also no one cares about cs here anyway, most people do console games

because of the social stigma around it, maybe? Also, most of the people which have some sort of "potential" tend to prefer streaming over actually trying to play the game and improve + there is virtually no funding Also, essentially, we have only 2 players (if we exclude Cosmeeen, which till this day I have no clue what happened to him) which could be in a solid Tier 2 team which could compete at relevant events and make plenty of upsets; but most likely it will stay like this for a long time But, there's a glimpse of hope, plenty of Romanian legends from 1.6 started playing CS:GO and some said that they would love being coaches for local teams Edit: I forgot to mention, I think the fact that we literally have only 2 relevant orgs also effects this, but I feel like this falls under the category of "virtually no funding"
2020-11-24 09:11
