I get why Thorin gets hate, but you can't deny the fact that he is one of the realest to ever do it. He can be a dick sometimes, for which he has faced severe consequences. At the same time Thorin is the type of guy who does not mince words and asks questions in way no one else has the ability to do. Call him a clown, call him a hater, but you definitely have to admit that he is a one of a kind personality in Esports.

The things he's said about Astralis haven't even been about ESL or Flashpoint. It's about how the org itself has operated.
You think he wouldn't criticize them if they were in Flashpoint? He's already criticized some of their own teams like forZe etc. Even said that he wouldn't mind some of them leaving if they continue to underperform.

First of all he works for Flashpoint and has even admitted that their event was somewhat underwhelming for the first season. About ESL, well they have made questionable decisions so it's not a surprise.

idk about milking the niko stuff, niko was the one replying to him on twitter and talking shit about him in interviews as well talking down on former teammates. Much of the criticism of niko is very true so there's no denying it.
Not saying thorin won't get heat for dishing it out, but don't make it seem like NiKo didn't have that shit coming eventually after his tenure in FaZe and the last two years of shit pile results

Your explanation with some kind of weird declarations since NiKo only answered one tweet from Thorin, atleast this year, and the fact that NiKo never made videos about Thorin nor talked about him every single time he could like a toxic gf. But it has nothing to do with the guy being a clown every time he can, but can't expect too much if you support Thorin who even said that YNK is a good coach but can't be seen as one because of NiKo(LOL), what's left of this clown is to blame NiKo for Flashpoint not working as he wish it did.

Pretty few talent who are willing to criticize pros or be completely honest in certain scenarios.

I wish he gave more attention to this field instead of the current esport affairs. There is plenty of stuff, especially from the early days that people have no idea about, and this also makes both interesting stories, and videos which are going to be relevant 5, 10, 20 or 30 years from now.
I wanna hear from Thorin how early CS evolved into what we had from mid 2000s onward. Perhaps going through different stages of the map pool evolution, including what had been attempted in various big or niche leagues all over the world would make a great story too.

I don't follow this clown, but for example when he promoted Flashpoint pretending that ESL would soon collapse and that teams would have positive ROI paying millions to participate in this clown league, he knew it wasn't the truth, he just said so to receive a nice paycheck.

flashpoint is way more sustainable and will last longer and be more profitable than the path ESL is taking, ESL without Intel would be dead already, even Spunj has been considering quitting ESL due to poor management.

He and Monte said there will be no timer between matches in Flashpoint and it will be full of content. First day it was only timers, and to this day, there is timer between matches.
At the beginning of the year he tweeted he will criticitze Flashpoint as much as ESL. Yeah, we know how it went. Talking nonstop about ESL, while he doesnt acknowledge Flashpoint´s failures.
That´s two lies I can think of right now. I am pretty sure, there would be more lies he told, but I dont really wanna think about him.

He claimed that ESL purposely scheduled their tournaments on top of Flashpoint, then after being called out by the VP of ESL it turned out that ESL had scheduled their tourneys way before Flashpoint so it was actually the opposite that was true.
This even led to Thorin having to write an apology, but since he is massively autistic it ended up being the most backhanded apology ever, basically just naming other stuff he was unhappy about with ESL lmfao.
Not to mention the countless times pros has disagreed with him and called him out like Flusha and JW when he said that flusha was kicked from fnatic, which he wasnt. But ofc he just claimed that they were lying providing no proofs of his claim what so ever.
That's usually how he makes his claims as well, if any1 ever calls him out they're simply lying for the sake of their own org or team mates or whatever but we should all trust Thorins takes because hE mIgHt kNoW sTuFf bEhInD tHe sCenE

thorin is great! and by the numbers is the best cs podcast by a long shot! he an RL are top notch when it comes to understanding cs and esports as a whole.
but he is a little bit too much in love with himself. sometimes I think that he thinks that basically everyone he doesnt like is lying constantly and he is the only one who knows and speaks the truth. he stages himself as some kind of crusader sometimes. thats too much. but the rest of his content is 10/10.

Thx to Thorin bashing on NiKo and Device, a lot of people see both of them as way worst than who they are. Thorin have fangays believe it or not, and a lot of people believe 100% in what he says, when he is human and 90% he will be mistaken. He's the one who brang someone from like 2015 to the table when he was criticizing NiKo saying that he owed him money and saying that he's shitty person basically and you see how nowadays it affected, there are more NiKo haters than FaZe fans at this point and all because of biased stuff.

the problem you have is that the fact that you are SO sensitive to jokes and you have such a hard time taking a joke, you ignore all of his reasonable arguments and label him retarded. if thorin makes an argument but wraps it in a joke to make it entertaining, all you hear is the joke so all you can do is be offended, but you don't think beyond that. so his content isnt for you. and thats not bad, some people simply can't argue or debate in that way

I have thought a lot about this and I think one, of several reasons, is because people mistake on-desk analysts with content creation analysts.
When it comes to opinion based analysis, or hot take analysis, he is unrivaled.
But people get annoyed because he calls out the BS that desk analysts won't call out.
Take Spunj for instance. He often got rants on Confirmed, but that is usually when things have got too far.
Thorin makes multiple angry pieces before that, and then get people against him because he comes off as a douche because of it.
But people forget that Spunj is biased towards hyping events, teams and matches. Mainly because he wanna have viewers and clout for events he either works for now or for future TOs
His job is to build up the game, not to point a spotlight at the gritty and dark.
This game is es for almost all casters and desk analysts.
A question to people who hate Thorin: what "competitor" would you suggest?

Most of the people complaining about him have probably never seen an By The Numbers podcast episode or any of the other podcasts starring him. He doesnt care about other opinion when outing his. He and Richard are for sure the best journalist/talent in cs (compared to other journalists, not the on air talent like Spunj and machine).

That's the easy way to do things. In every aspect, especially on media, being disrespectful or have harsh opinions about people or whatever, will generate curiosity on the people. In this case, viewers, readers. But the content man... a lot to be desired.

He's often a complete cunt, but he is an impartial cunt, that's why I like him. His biggest flaw is he makes it very hard for those he criticises to engage with him, but that's usually because they respond with a bruised ego.
If people he criticised actually put their ego aside and engaged him honestly they could learn a lot, just look at what k0nfig has done in the year since Thorin did a piece on the downfall of his career.

Excuse me, but how does he not owe thorin shit? Everybody knows that k0nfig had lost all motivation and almost quit CS. It was his article that reignited k0nfig's desire to become good again. Jason Lake didn't just pull him up out of the blue on the basis of his past performance, rather he had seen that k0nfig had improved as a player overtime, all thanks to the one article that he took seriously rather than getting bitchy about it.

Unbelievably wrong, he makes a point not to personally attack people and points out how people like sirscoots made a huge mistake by doing it. Also he is friends with most of the scene, I have no idea how you came to the conclusion that nobody want to work at flashpoint because of him. It’s like saying pimp, launders and scrawny wont work for esl because of spunj and machine, so utterly unreasonable.

He said that he stopped working for them because of the neom deal and that the managements decision To let it through is proof that there is something rotten. Like me, Thorin has Asperger's, it's a very mild type of "autism" that creates some difficulty in social interactions, for example I can't maintain eye contact and I don't know how to interpret a lot of coporal language, except that everything that involves activities that I do alone in my corner I am above average, Thorin is not charismatic and I think he doesn’t even try to be, but he is very smart indeed.
