wireless headset in CS:GO
 |
Norway thenewdagon
hello HLTV, I'm going to buy a new headset and I would prefer getting a wireless one. I just wonder if there is any disadvantages in using a wireless headset in cs:go, in terms of a slight sound delay or something like that. what do u think?? also what wireless headset would u recommend?

you can feel the delay on bluetooth, but with 2.4 you shouldn't see any delay, maybe a few miliseconds but not anything noticeable

you could probably try the g pro wireless, or the arctis 9 if you can find them for that on black friday, i'd say that arctis is a bit better and more comfortable, but it's personal preference

HyperX Cloud Flight is also good and cheaper have been using it for 2 weeks and i love them. And if i remember right theres better battery (comparing to g pro), like 30hrs gaming. ( G Pro haves 20hrs) but g pro is amazing tho, i did go with budget. But no regrets.

it's one of the headsets i have considered. i have a great deal on one. have u noticed any difference in sound delay with wired and wireless ?

Usually the mic on wireless headsets is way worse then wired. For example, look up a sound test for g pro wireless vs g pro wired mics

That doesn’t mean shit lol, pros aren’t hardware experts, they usually buy something because a teammate likes it

theres very little difference ngl. wired is better because it is a bit faster but if you can get a headset that uses 2.4ghz usb instead of bluetooth

i think it's worth the experience, but you will be bothered by running out of charge mid use and for me, the two 2.4ghz i had suffered interference when used together (my misses desk is right next to mine) and i really don't understand why, but they did... one thing kinda compensates the other :/
2020-11-24 23:37
If you buy cheapass ones, for sure there will be delay but hyperx for example wont disappoint you.But you know money

I've had the Arctis 7 for a year now, no complains. They are super comfortable and the battery lasts for quite a while.

Playing with wireless headset since almost 10 years. There is no delay. I can recommend Steelseries Arctis. My friend has the arctis 7 and I have the arctis 1, both wireless. Both really great headsets. Also wait for black friday. Could probably snack the arctis one wireless for like 70€. Just don't get turtle beach. I had a turtle beach for like 8+ years. Sound and mic were really good, but built quality is pretty trash. Full plastic and I was really lucky. Still had to fix it with duct tape tho. That shit breaks after a couple years and you will have to ghettofix it. Also don't get the corsair hs70. I had it before the Steelseries and had to send it back, cause there was A LOT of white noise. It was honestly unbearable. Their sub / reviews and internet in general is full with people complaining about it.

Turtle beach atlas aero The best headset I've ever used
2020-11-24 20:38
keep in mind that wireless are heavier and the battery wears out so you end up using them wired anyways. Also if you alredy have a mic, audiophiles reccomend you to not buy a headset but good headphones instead from a reputable brand. Some even recommend buying a mic and headphones.

Meh, my cloud flight is IIRC 1yo and the battery is still going strong and hyperx revolva weighs more than the flight. The freedom you get far outweighs the marginal differences in audio quality.

mybe, i had a logitech g930, it was trash; super heavy, turning on and off all the time and the battery lasted less than an hour after 3 yrs. Also how much freedom do you need sitting in your desk. I think wireless has a place in street headphones or for exercising but for sitting at a desk its not worth the extra weight an reduced lifespan.

No delay. Personally use Cloud Flight after switching from Hyperx Revolva, but G pro is a nice alternative too.

Anyone here saying 2.4ghz from a reputable brand such as Logitech or SteelSeries or even hyperx is is slower or has input delay that is percievable misinformed. The new cloud II wireless is probably the headset to go for the Logitech g pro headset that is wireless. Both extremely good. Gl!

G pro X jhaant barabar , dont buy.
2020-11-25 12:09
I don't think that there are any disadvantages considering the advances within the technology of them, but i also don't see the advantage to using it unless you want to get up from your chair and walk away a lot while also talking with your friends, but i doubt it's really important. Wireless headsets are just for the flex imo
