I have a really outdated PC (Intel i5 3350P, GTX 750 Ti, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM), but I still really enjoy playing the game. I was wondering am I playing well considering the fact that my PC runs competitive CS:GO games with around 70-120 fps depending on the map, position, situation etc...
I'm currently Supreme in matchmaking and level 5 in Faceit. I know it's nothing impressive, but is it good considering that my PC is bad, or do most people in my level also play with similar setups?
I would like to hear about your ranks/levels and PCs as well or if you are in a similar situation!

I have a 144 hz monitor, which I got as a birthday gift two years ago. It stutters a bit since I rarely peak at over 144 fps, but I still prefer using it like this instead of using 60 hz.

you are playing well mens, keep it up, not sure how many hours you have but just don't quit and keep grinding, once the time comes, you will get a new PC (possibly with a 144hz monitor) and you will become an unleashed beast, patience is the key here
I'm not sure if most people at your level play with similar setups as I haven't played MM in ages and lvl 5 is far past me, but I'd imagine that it's not more than 50% of the players.
I can relate to this as I played CS:GO for 3 years and 3k hours on a notebook while averaging 30fps on a wi-fi, even though I had random crashes, freezes mid-fights, auto-disconnects every 10 mins and high loss%, I still loved CS:GO and wanted to play it. After those 3k hours, I got Global by soloQing and I was around lvl4 on FaceIT (couldn't play faceit since 50% of the time it wouldn't load lol, but I had like 100-ish matches played at that point as far as I remember). The timing was perfect because it was around Christmas when I got global and I got a new PC as a gift for Christmas (got a fake 144hz tho, had to wait another year for a real 144hz).
Currently 3k+ elo soloQ, my peak was 3.4k elo)), had reached 3.2k elo at 700 matches and 5k hours, nearly 6k hours rn)

I can't even imagine how it must've been playing with a setup like that, but it's still really impressive how you managed to do that, I'm proud of you men)) I've also been struggling with internet problems as well since I live in the countryside and I share the same Wi-Fi with the rest of my family, so it's quite laggy most of the time :D
I currently have a bit less than 4000 hours and I've been playing since 2017. I also do have a 144 hz monitor which I got two years ago as a birthday gift :) I still have a ton of motivation to play, especially now that I finally managed to get a consistent 5-stack to play with.
Also I already have a new CPU, motherboard and more RAM, but I can't put them in my current PC until I get a new PSU since if I put them in now, it would probably just explode :D, but hopefully after Christmas I'll have enough money to buy the new PSU so I can upgrade some parts at least!

Damn you've been playing a lot then, you managed to get more hours than me in the same time! :D I started mid-2016, so not that far off from yours. Well that sorts that out I guess, you only need a good PC now! Trust me, 144hz in CS is a different world, it made a huge difference for me (was probably the reason I was able to go from 2.5k to 3.2k elo that quickly).
It's really good that you still have a ton of motivation to play, motivation is a key factor to success. I unfortunately have lost a lot of my motivation, I nearly quit 2 weeks ago, but I was able to rescue myself from something I would have regret later on. Hoping to get it back tho rn, started playing a lot more again and hopefully I can get back my form as well :D
Oh, well that's even better! You are almost there mens, you're this || close from a good PC, wish the best of luck mens!)) Trust me, you will improve SO much with the new PC + 144hz combo, you'll become a monster. All I'm saying is holding angles won't be a struggle no more with it.

I feel like every country has some families living in poverty, even though the country might be wealthy in general.
My parents divorced when I was young and my mother is taking care of me, my little sister and older brother. She is currently unemployed so she isn't making a ton of money and my older brother is 17 years, so she doesn't even get child support for him anymore either. She also had mouth cancer, but luckily she beat it and everything is fine now and things are looking brighter at the moment :)

I don't really blame my pc, more than myself, and what I wanna say is, that u can get even lvl 10 with 150 fps (especially during worldwide lockdown), there are plenty of cis players who played official games on HLTV with the same fps and now they're solid tier 2. So, don't underestimate yourself

I still try to improve everyday and hopefully even have a chance at going pro at some point in my life. I think with enough had work and motivation even I can get there :D

Just saw that u got 5 stack, should be way easier for you, at least you're not gonna be pressured by doing some in game moves/about fake info (I personally soloq 80% of my games) good luck, and just don't think about the amount of hours/games you played, we're all different people and if someone needs 400 games to get at the certain level, other people might be stuck on lower level for 1k games

Yesss I finally managed to get a nice and motivated 5-stack from my school, which is a nice change. I also played quite a lot of soloQ or with friends that didn't have too much experience, so I had to teach them quite a lot of stuff.
I try not to think about my hours too much, but it was hard when people often pointed out that I was progressing really slow especially after like 4000 hours :D

had like 40 fps master guardian (2), 200 hours wingman,
right now overclocked laptop to 70 fps 2x more hours and i could get dmg if i wanted(lost some motivation due cheaters increase when i rank up), but i heared wingman doesnt matter for you all xD but for me wingman same as 5x5 if not harder because i used to beat players who had games with older Natus Vincere.
For me what improved my game new mouse right now , feels like extra fps, dont even know how its possible, but even moving around when fps is jumping seems smoother with better mouse

40 fps seems pretty bad, glad to hear you were able to overclock your laptop though! I'm currently Global in Wingman so I'm pretty much done with it, but I'm glad to hear you're having fun playing it :)
I felt a big improvement as well when I switched mice. Currently using a Zowie S1, which fits me well!

Old laptop that wasn't meant to be played on, 10-30 FPS on average, little kid's table and no space for 180, barely moveable at all, no mousepad (I had a towel instead of it), no private zone, I usually conditioned myself on the back of the couch. And it tops with parents constantly yelling and asking me something to do, not understanding that I'm in game and it has no pauses. I might've forgotten something but you got the point.

Btw I've noticed quite a lot of people limiting their fps to 300, even though their PCs could easily handle more (like yours). Why not limit it to something like 400 or 500 instead? Or why even limit it at all? Is it a big enough difference to actually limit it to something?

idk, my friend told me to set fps_max 300 and I felt the difference. feels very stable, even in smokes, mollies etc. I get constant 299fps, never less, so I havent even questioned that ever since.

I got to gnm on a MacBook Air without a desk in Asia mm (cheater every other game). I hardly play faceit, but right now I’m sitting pretty at a mid range lvl 5. Haven’t played in weeks though

Ya you're fine, obviously you could do better but you could also do much worst. 100 FPS is fine, but players like n0thing have said that playing with 'shit computers' (computers that run under 200 FPS) feel really weird to him.

Yeah I think here not many people, especially school-college students, have higher end pc's or laptops unless they are rich kids or who are only into PC gaming (because many will prefer to invest in an xbox or PS than a pc). Ofcourse our country is also very poor compared to Europe so there is that.

I know it could be a lot worse, but as far as I am aware most people in my level/rank have a stable 200+ fps and I was just wondering am I doing well compared to them or does the fps even make a big difference.
Besides that, I hope you'll get a good PC soon so you don't have to struggle with 25 fps. GL with your games men))

it is not csgo mate, it's trash game you don't need skill there, like in csgo, and 180 ms, yeah sure, he ruined everyone else game, when you can't hit because he is too laggy, you can;t shoot exactly at him, it won't hit, he probably played against idiots, because there are smarter players, dont worry, they will trash 30 fps guys in 1-2 seconds

Weird you only get that many fps from that setup. I have 1050ti and i3 4170 and get 130 - 200 fps. Used to play with 60hz and it was fine, was supreme when I played more often. Now I have smooth experience with 120hz and I'm only MGE. And when I tried to play with 60hz it was unplayable (would probably play like gold nova 3). So it's mainly about being used to conditions I think.

Someone else also pointed out that I get fairly little fps from my setup, but sadly these are all the juices that I can squeeze out of my setup.
Also good job on getting Supreme! It was quite a struggle for me at least, but I'm glad to hear you were able to pull it off as well :)

you know, cs go has a lot of stuttering and optimization problems, even anything between 60 and 120fps feel like much less and is kinda unplayable

I dont know about that, sure its not just your pc? Nobody i know ever has stuttering problems or anything with this fps
I know it could be a lot less, but it's still fairly low compared to most people who I play with. And besides that I am using a 144 hz monitor, which causes stuttering from time to time since I can't run CS:GO on a stable 144+ fps. I know I could turn my hertz to 60, but I would rather play with 144 hz and random stuttering than stable 60 hz.

I played a lot more matchmaking before I started to play Faceit and generally just had more motivation to play matchmaking since all my friends played it instead of Faceit. Now I have a different 5-stack that I play with and now I'm mostly playing with them on Faceit.
Oh yeah and I just suck at this game so it might be why I'm so low level on Faceit.

even me playing on i5 4460 with gtx650 can reach bout 100fps but still manage to get GN3 cause i jz played cs since lock down in March , but currently cant play any cause had a cut on my hand and also dislocated my shoulder bone last month
time will come and u will be able to get better PC for csgo , just save some money in between

50 fps is not low? i really feel like the game is not smooth at all and stuttering/lagging. and if im close to smokes and mollies it goes down to around 10 fps and its so hard to spray.

A 60 hz monitor cannot show more than 60 fps so 50 fps is not low.. the reason you lag in smokes and mollies is bcs your graphics card is bad and needs to be updated

I got global when playing on laptop with 60-100 fps (and about 8-9 lvl faceit)
Now I have better PC with 144hz monitor and im similar rank xD faceit a bit better, 10 but low elo

NO NEED TO READ : (2k hours playing since 2015 (back then i had a worse pc and playing with 40 fps) , I stopped playing between 2016 and 2017 , i restarted a bit in 2018 , then re quit , then comeback in 2019 , then re quit , then comeback in late 2019 , then requit , then comeback since 2 weeks and i enjoy CS)
LEVEL MGE rn , best LEM and level 6 faceit (i lag too much in faceit)
But I am better player now in MGE than when i was level 6 face it , i am doing 80-90 ADR AND 20 kills atleast in every game now and like 1.30 K/D while being a good teamplayer, i enjoy it i think i can reach global if i continue to play
