If the Esports scene wants to advance and be a big part of the sports scene like soccer or whatever, they can't accept this. In NFL for example, a player can be fined for making a silly celebration dance after scoring a TD. Players removing their shirts after scoring has been considered unsportsmanlike behavior by FIFA for quite some time, in soccer. And even to me these things seem silly, but they are punishable.
You can't argue that the middle-finger move is okay? It is NOT okay and if we in the Esport community want other people to take Esports serious, we can't accept this this behaviour.

i agree and disagree, I think he shouldn't be severely punished by any means, he should maybe get a warming , we've all tilted and sword land emotions run rampant when the pressure is so high so it's understandable but there should probably regulate it a bit more for sure.
However I wouldn't want esports to become like soccer where players are literal gods and are above someone, there's this sense of everyone can relate to the players in esports, they make their own youtube videos for example, and show emotions like "normal people" so keep it real but keep the viewing experience suitable for everyone of any age too.

Was it ok to show middlefingers after the clutch? Ofc not, but he apoligised, that was the FIRST thing he did on the live interview after the game, so i think its fine. I believe he felt bad about it as well, i dont think it was just a PR move of the management to make him apologise!

He insulted his teammates, screamed at them, and been toxic in general EVEN in official matches or tournaments while in FPL and casual games he said to pro players that they were trash/horrible at the game. im comparing csgo to football as people are surprised why no sponsors want to go into CSGO, not only because of blood, kills, terrorists and all stuff like that, but also because we are not even trying to be professional. in League of Legends if pro players are toxic on soloq (private games, your own) they can be banned from PRO GAMES for specific time. thats why they are more professional, they got bigger sponsors, bigger prize pools. suprisingly nobody have any problem with that in LoL, only hltv kids somehow have

1) I dont care about both NaVi and Vitality, i dont support any team since old VP disbanded (neo taz pasha byali snax)
2) I dont care that Apex won and s1mple lost
3) It actually made the game funnier I agree, sucks s1mple couldnt see that on Lan
4) Just because it was funny from apex doesnt mean its sportsmanlike. It was very unprofessional from Apex and if CSGO wants to be bigger game with bigger scene, things like that cannot happen. Thats why LoL is bigger game with bigger prize pools. In football you would get drama for that as well. CSGO is still living oldschool where things werent that professional etc, when other games and things are more professional

the reason why LoL is bigger than CSGO in competitions is the role Riot plays in developing the scene, it has absolutely nothing to do with things like middle fingers not being allowed.

Riot plays a huge role in the LoL scene. They support a lot their community while valve don't care about CS and update the game once every 10 years. You are comparing 2 different eSports, and this only happened once, saying that this stops Csgo from becoming esports is stupid. I disagree with you not because I'm blinded but because this doesn't happen every-single-time, you are literally making a scene out of a single action that a player apologized for afterwards. This doesn't stop cs from becoming a esport, what stops it, is valve not fixing the game, not giving source 2, or even giving a higher prize pool to the most important event. If valve did something, players would change, but since valve only bring cases, this won't change.

This isnt bad whatsoever. Middle-finger is nothing to worry about, after all, s1mple is a person who rlly asks for that kind of things. I dont see anything wrong, in fact, it rlly made me laugh and made the match funnier and entertaining. In football the guys reach a point where they punch each other mate, so saying "middle-finger" is bad makes you look like a kiddo. The people who are working on the stream probs thought it was hype as it actually was, so decided to put it in to create a better experience for viewers.

E-sports has a long history of Trash talk and Humiliating your opponents while soccer or many other traditional sports aim for "Good sportsmanship".
I think it takes something away from e-sports if you ban trash talk. It's also mostly for fun when they do it. I really like R6 but i hate the fact you can get banned for trash talking. Trash talking is a mental game and has it's rightful place in e-sports.

You can't compare NFL and CSGO. NFL is an American product, and America is well known for censorship towards everything. I agree that apEX shouldn't give the middle finger or directly curse at the opponents, but as he also explained, there is no bad blood between them. He respects them and the middle finger wasn't addressed at the opponent, but just a gesture of relief that they won the round. We do not need American censorship in Europe, it's embarrassing.

I think this is very insulting (apeX even added "fuck you!" in french) but s1mple has been disrepectful to apeX in the past. Now, this is still esport, and i think BM should be allowed, since he didnt insulted s1Mple directly (simply showed it to his screen) and the reaction wouldnt have been shown if ESL didnt show it on PURPOSE so its definitely a threat or an insult to s1Mple since he cant see it. There is no use to see the player face. It's not about the game, it's for the Show and for showing players reactions (And it's wanted by the organisation of the tournament).
If a soccer player is on the bench and say "F*ck", he was not in the game's space and if someone notice it it's because a cam was on him, do you think he need to be punished ? And if he was at home ? On both side he was not in the game.

I did a bunch of differents sports and it was different all the time. And about csgo, it's maybe a hard, gross and wierd spirit but I like and personnaly I don't want it to change.

Personally I dont mind the middle finger at all but if the scene were to develop and gain more viewers and screentime it needs rules.
Professional athletes get fined for things they say that are not suitable for TV. They also get suspended for actions they have done towards other players (bad tackles or other physical gestures)
This is why I dont want csgo to gain a spot in TV because I feel that csgo scene would lose a part of itself.
