I'm looking for headphones / earphones / earbuds and my budget is around £200, do you know what is the best option? I listen to music or podcasts about 4 hours a day and I travel with public transport and walk so nothing too flashy or bulky. Also most of my music is pretty bass heavy but too much bass isn't great but idk if saying that helps i just heard a bunch of reviewers say it. I'm just really uncertain what to do and if there is a cheaper option that is better with price to performance ill settle for that too. thanks in advance for any help (btw i'm not getting any apple product or beats)

I got the Audio Technica m50x's, I dunno if a better option is out by now

You should consider getting HD 6xx or 58x on Massdrop. They are not really suitable for using outside, but they are widely considered as the best entry audiophile headphones. HD 6xx is a rebranded hd 650 but cheaper. HD 58x sounds similar to hd 660s (500$ headphones) but has a small peak at 5.5k hz that can be removed with eq. Galaxy Buds+ are also quite good if you want something less bulky

#50 and anyway i needed them for outside use only but thanks for the suggestion

I presume whatever you listen to stuff on has an equaliser built in anyway for you to tweak the bass

Sennheiser's are godlike. I have the IE40 and they are amazing, very detailed, good bass definition and great soundstage. I'd recommend them for sure if audio quality is a big concern. If you're thinking that maybe earbuds are worse than headphones because of the size get that out of your head, I have an AKG K240MKII and a Sennheiser PC37X and the IE40 beats them both. What I usually do is search for 'best earphone/headphone under $XXX' and then pick something from a reliable brand. The AT M50X got a lot of praise back in the days, I never used them, but they are very famous among bass heavy enthusiasts. One headphone I used and loved was the B&W P7, but they need and amp for optimal performance. If I were you, I'd very likely pick a Sennheiser on whatever budget I had.

They are great. They come with a nice pouch to carry them around and fit very well. What you should take into account is that they have no built in microphone, so you can't take calls with them, and they are not exactly plug and play. By that I mean that they are not the kind of earphone you can take out of your ears all the time. Due to that behind the ear fit they have, putting and taking them out is not as straight forward as you'd wish, so when you are using them you are using them. Overall it's an excellent product, I absolutely love them, but it's a bit of a niche product, if you're not that into sound quality maybe something else can fit your liking better.

2020-11-28 00:23
With AP2 at least I can run for 30-40 minutes, jump and they do not fall out. I've got friends that have pro some of them have already lost their headphones cuz they had fallen out in 1 moment

You should definitely look at the Shure SE215-CL (earbuds) They are about half your budget but without doubt way better than a $200 headset

Basically the same product, both come from manufacturers of professional equipement Same features (detachable cable, mic, same inpedance) I don't own the IE40 but it seems that the Shure's cable is more durable (there's Kevlar inside) I went for the Shure because I prefer the brand on other pro music equipment but either with the Sennheiser's or the Sure's, u can't go wrong.

Look into the beyerdynamics DT 990, DT 880 or DT 770 depending if you like semi-open, open or closed headsets. I have the 990 myself and they're amazing.

dont get m50x they have bad soundstage. everything sounds super close. dt 770 are good but u dont get microphone. just add an attachable. they are cheap second hand. personally i use the beyerdynamic studio custom (not the pro variant) who are basically dt 770 with a flatter sound curvature, removable cable so i can fit a vmoda boompro, adjustable bass which is nice for music and they sound great. focus on wide soundstage and imaging. cloud 2 are rebranded takstar 88s i think, thats why theyre so good. they beat 100 euro headsets. check up reviews. open-back ehadphones are always gonan be better for gaming. the ideal are the dt 990 but you will hear everyting else in your room. i like it but i dont want to go to lans with open back xd

Best priceworthy sound quality on over ears: 1) Sennheiser 2) Teufel 3) Bose (no particular order) I wouldn't recommend Earbuds atm as they are heavily overpriced and will be way better in 1-2 years but keep your eye on those brands. The sound quality of the Sennheiser Earbuds is excellent but other parts lack certain things that will surely be fixed in the upcoming releases. But my suggestion for you: check out the b-stock or current sales of the suggested brands above.
