Today? I think the map pool for mouse vs C9 will be - inferno, nuke and mirage - I think mouse will win inferno - nuke is very close and I would go for over 26.5 rounds and I would have to watch the first two maps to make a conclusion for the 3rd Over 2.5 maps is best bet on this game Furia vs liquid - high variance game and I would avoid betting it at all. It can finish 2-0 or 2-1 for either team. I expect a close match and if furia can disrupt their ct setups with some micro plays it should be furia with the W. My prediction is liquid wins but I’m not confident in that prediction.

I would have preferred- Over 26.5 rounds on map 1 (C9 vs liquid) Over 2.5 maps (this is risky too - high variance game) Gambit win (axile is my new favourite young player - he is gonna be a big name)

Since ive seen how liquid are ready for every match, I might consider just go for match winner, ALEX's prep will be also good and he considers all of the possible picks from mouz, to 2 match winners are selected, I just wasnt sure about gambit, as soon as they got 16 wins streak and looking really fcking hot I picked them into a combo, so we ll see 200€ on this will get me 1,8k

I started playing poker when I was 18 and have never looked back - the problem is if you don’t use exchanges such as smarkets or betfair - you will eventually be capped by the bookies for your preferred markets (esports and basketball in my case). I’m self employed and have been for roughly 6 years now

#40 Spread the bet out across several bookies - it’s a pain but what else can you do? You could use bitcoin bookies but that’s all unregulated and high risk. Best option is to use exchanges and go against players rather than the house.

the biggest problem i have with it is that no one seems to have good lines/markets like bet365. also most sites have the lines closed 75% of the match except bet365. i do see a couple there i havent checked out, probably not legal here. the government has monopoly on betting here, and they dont allow proper betting companies except bet365 to operate here. ive considered moving country to be able to use bet365 again..

do you have any fb page or ig where you post bets? spreadsheet?
2020-11-29 12:27

I don’t - I provide free bets from my analysis on the betting sub forum - I prefer anonymity. Here’s some advice on those pages though - the majority are just people making predictions and hoping they get a few right in the hope that people will sign up to their mailing list for a fee and they make money from that rather than the actual betting. Diversifying and managing risk is great like that but that’s what investing and bankroll management is for. The most important thing is BANKROLL MANAGEMENT - never put more than 5% of your roll on any bet and that’s the top end - most bets should be 1-2% If you are young though - I would suggest an aggressive bankroll building strategy as you have more scope for failure

I record my own results and analysis but in a diary - I’m old school and feel better sitting down doing it with a pen and paper Football is the hardest market to make money consistently simply because results are 3way compared to something like basketball or tennis where it is only 2way results You can get really good value on top teams away from home though - like inter yesterday but draws are the bane of profit

They cap your winnings if they don’t ban you - you have to use as many bookies as possible and spread it out - you don’t want to take a months winnings from just one site. That’s why using exchanges is better - the house wins on the fee and you win against another bettor.

should i trust to furia ?
2020-11-29 12:42

If you want to do a high risk bet such as picking furia - I would say it’s better to pick gambit vs spirit today or even cloud9 vs mouse. I would pick gambit over furia. A good bet today would be map 1 over 26.5 rounds in the liquid vs furia game The furia liquid game is high variance - anything can happen in that match on current form - My prediction is liquid will win but I’m not confident in this prediction and avoiding the game unless some inplay opportunity presents itself.

I’m not posting bank statements lol 😂 Medium stake I guess? That is relative - if you asked me about my bets now 5 years ago I would have said it’s a lot. Regrets - many, gambling is a test of self discipline and being objective in your viewpoint (trying to remove your own biases). You are also putting faith in others and it’s always outside your control so methodology is very important. It can affect your personality and desensitises you since the dopamine affect of winning makes other emotions feel lesser and in your personal life it can really affect your relationships if you don’t manage to control it. Plus you have to live with people not giving credibility to your profession from the average person you come across in life.

Cash - of course it’s covid times now so it’s hard to play live games that aren’t nose bleed stakes. I play tournaments here and there but it’s too much variance and it’s very luck-based as you go deeper in tournaments - we can’t all be like bencb

I started online and cut my teeth there but live games are much softer. I always thought it’s better to put myself in games where it will be easier to make money. Also everyone is using software to help with decision making so it really removes a huge edge - that’s why the majority of top top players don’t really play online nearly as much as back when I played with exceptions such as Linuslove. Also players like lex are being staked and are selling huge percentages of themselves so their risk is minimal - playing online is great for “personalities” since they can capitalise on these mechanisms. Live games are much easier money though until you hit 10/20

Not sure if you've noticed this or not but Ladbrokes and Neds (which is owned by the same company as Ladbrokes) don't change the odds for a teams map pick in a BO3. 365 and other sites favour the team slightly more on their map pick by .2 or something in that ballpark whereas the two aforementioned sites don't. A great way to get value out of a lot of games
2020-11-29 13:28

Thanks for advice! Sometimes you have to place an inbet play very fast and don’t always get the option to go for the best odds as the opportunity can be gone. For example - during initial lockdown in around March time - flashpoint were starting their games early and bookies weren’t updating it in time so you could lump stake on pistol round wins which were already concluded and get free wins - bookies do this several times a in a year

Cheers for the tip! I'll have to keep an eye out for that although most games start when I'm sleeping, being Australian and all. But yeah I specifically mean Ladbrokes doesn't consider which team is picking the map when making odds for that map. Eg in the Furia vs North Dreamhack Match the odds for map 1 (North's pick) are 1.53 (Furia) to 2.37 (North) on 365 compared to 1.48 to 2.5 on Ladbrokes. Then on 365, Furia drops to 1.36 on their map pick and North increases to 3 whereas Ladbrokes remains the same as map 1, 1.48 to Furia and 2.5 to North. So if you were to bet on each team winning their map pick, you'd be making .25 of a unit more on Ladbrokes compared to 365. I hope I'm not explaining something you already know or am being condescending but I only found this out last week as I hadn't been betting on Ladbrokes for esports until recently (had only been using it for NFL and rugby league previously) and it has been working really well and is pretty exciting

I only used these two teams just because they have similar match line values between the sites not because I think North will actually win map 1, only just remembered they changed their roster haha

I have had this happen 3 times in-play betfair, in esea movistar were 15-14 up and in 5v2 situation and I lumped on at 1.7 odds. Another game, they had odds wrong way round at managed to get 4.33 odds on sprout. My best was catching 9.5 odds on EG map2 vertigo which was fixed odds some how and a glitch but they won :)

What are the main factors for betting in CS for you? Like, for me it's a current form of the teams, players, stability in the map pool, odds that do not correspond to reality and the capabilities of the teams. What factors do you rely on and why, and which ones you put above the rest?

Those are good So starting as a poker player - I had tilt issues and started to delve into psychology and competitive psychology as a hobby to improve my game. That helps because most of the time when a team does something that’s part of its DNA - like NaVi choking a finals - it’s a psychological phenomenon more than a technical one. Psychology of people only changes with deliberation to do so thus I primarily look at psychology then use stats and hard figures to back up my thoughts. For example - liquid struggled in NA the whole time and the indicators are that morale is low and they are in a slump - which the results and figures prove to be true. However they are collectively together as a group so the failures are no longer individual failures but group failures which is a lesser pressure since you have less individual accountability than the group accountability - there is also the excitement of being together and history of the liquid roster - 4 of those 5 players have dominated in Europe so its familiar territory which is comforting and a boost to the psyche. Then you contrast MIBR who were praised for their roster but enough time has passed for their Demos to be figured out and enough time has passed that the honeymoon period has passed and they are feeling the emotions of a day to day team. Add the fact they are decent players but not to the same level of liquid - the pressure was on them to perform and they are the lesser team - always a bad combo. If you only look at hard figures and stats you can never predict outliers or when things go beyond what’s expected. It helps but it’s always better to look at the big picture of the scene and the motivations of a roster and individuals. CS is a FPS - strats are great but if a player pew pews better than you and is motivated to do so the best strats will have a hard time. The motivation for liquid is to be back at the top and MIBR motivation is to become a top team - the difference in the level Of the goal is huge. This is a really poor explanation (not my forte) but I would recommend reading on competitive and group psychology and you will notice extra little bits of info. The info you use should be evidence for your opinion not the other way round to form the opinion - this is because it’s a competition and if you only go on previous history as an example Man Utd would still be the best football team in the UK - Also if you can find out about scrim results - that’s big.

I think #78 is how you fight against losing streaks. It is completely normal to have them, but by not exposing more than 1% of your capital to each bet, even on a losing streak of 10 bets you lost only 10% of what you have, so you shouldn't be stressed out.
2020-11-29 13:47
Many many times - when you feel the tilt. Go take a break for 2 hours no matter how difficult it feels - I feel work outs are a great way to remove the stress and helps you stay on top of your emotions. Also if you are having these issues - I recommend doing all your bets at one time and look at he results at the end of the day

Do you also use Risk to Reward Ratio in betting? Like you risk 1% of your capital on a bet to gain at least 3%? We do that in Forex and Stocks trading, this basically means that by sticking to this system you only have to be right 25% of the time in order to be on breakeven.
2020-11-29 13:38
1 reply
It’s a good strategy which I’m aware of - but it’s not the one I use - I’m a macro analysis guy so I look at predicting events in the match - overs/unders for rounds, maps, and kills (CSGO) primarily. My bankroll strategy nowadays is conservative - i rarely ever stake more than 2% and using risk to reward ratio betting is time intensive - you have to constantly be aware and looking at the markets for the opportunity to present itself. For example - yesterday I was 90% liquid wins 2-0 but it was 2/1 so in that sense I would have had to pass on the opportunity since I need at least 3/1 for the 25% breakeven mark. Value is value and should be taken - that’s the difference between gambling and trading IMO.

Thank you for this. Question: do you think there's real match fixing on T2 t3 T4 around cis zone?
2020-11-29 14:36
1 reply
Yes. That’s why you need to be aware of the overall picture of a team - a T3 player and team are aware they won’t ever win a major or big events or even Get picked up by a better roster if they are a run of the mill player. My advice is to not bet on anything outside of T2. There is no consistency and anyone can beat anyone. A lot of these low tier teams are playing CS for very little reward - it’s only natural they would try to make extra income. Seized is a matchfixer 100% I can tell you that and he’s a bigger name.
2020-11-29 14:47
Do you live bet? If so where are you watching the game as bookies are always 1-3 rounds ahead of all the streams
2020-11-29 14:40
1 reply
Usually only at half time or in between maps. The only time I like to do inplay mid match is when a team takes a big lead early and the other teams odds skyrocket (like cloud9 yesterday) since the odds are too high for a game where such a high margin of matches end up fairly level at half time. It’s actually rarer for a team to take a big lead and maintain it till the match finishes. Since you are always betting at such high odds in these instances you only ever have to get like 2/10 right and ideally you want to do these bets when it’s the favourite who is down (gambit vs AGF on map 1 - down 9-2 and won 19-17) or fairly even teams - you don’t want to back the weaker team when they are behind by a lot.
2020-11-29 14:55

2020-11-29 14:41
If you are legit, thanks for the AMA! I consider myself a better but more as a hobby but always aiming to win. Some questions? 1 - Don't you think there is more +EV live? I feel that way always, especially as a 1.50 favourite after going down 0-3 in a bo3 is already at 1.7/1.8. 2- Biggest win/lost ever? 3 - What is the research you do before a game you want to bet? I usually try to find player's social media (there has been a lot of stand-ins lately) and if it is some sort of game where the players are more unknown (eg - The european development championship yesterday) I look into the ESEA and Faceit's page of the teams to see who they were up against. 4 - Do you feel the biggest values are in t2/t3 or tier 4? 5 - Do you try to beat the bookies in map vetos? (usually displayed few minutes before games and bookies haven't update odds) Thanks again!
2020-11-29 14:56
1 reply
Yes there is a lot more +ev inplay but the bookies can close and open markets as they wish - so you can potentially lose out on a winning bet by trying to catch it inplay and it’s just less variance and easier as a process in the long run Biggest win in a single event is £21600 from a poker tournament Biggest loss is also £20k in a day - roughly 4 hours lol I use psychology to analyse the teams and motivations as well as technical details (reviewing demos of teams playing on maps and identifying hot spots and strategy teams will use for the map - it’s guesswork here but occasionally you hit it right on the mark and that feels great. Also in my opinion - the better the executes a team has the more likely they are to win - I also like to compare the psychology of each team against one another - Cloud9 and mouse sports are both playing with a point to prove right now (cloud9 for relevance and mouse for form) and that’s why I expect a close game but there is no clear winner in this matchup in my mind - that’s why I like over 26.5 rounds. The map veto is kind of 50/50 even with cloud9 being a new roster because of they match up against their opponent - we know mousesports best map right now is train and that’s c9s permaban. I expect them to take their own map picks since it would be hard to analyse c9s nuke since they’ve done a variety of plays across the whole map. That being said - it’s easier for C9 to win today. Both will have incentives to perform unexpected micro plays that takes a round but they are likely to trade punches in that regard rather than a beat down from one team. Some maps are also more likely to have close games (inferno being a map that lends itself to this - where as overpass is the opposite) I only bet T1/T2 - the value is better in T2 but it’s higher variance (never easy eh) I don’t try to beat the bookies on map picks simply because I prefer the lower risk route of 100% correct info

Quite high atm - I don’t know the exact figure but I would hazard its around 70% I think the big problem is people go for match winners (which IMO isn’t hardest to predict) instead of going for overs/unders and specific map pick wins

I don’t buy accounts. Also I’ve seen you complain about losing bets quite a lot - I suggest you read this thread. I don’t want anything from you - I’m actually trying to give a few tips I think are really good here and there to help people make a bit of cash during covid times. You can go on the betting subforum and see for yourself.

See that you dont buy accounts reveals that you not a pro, because all accounts get closed after you win some money so you need to buy. I dont care about losing bets i dont bet that much money and i win too, yes i complain you havent seen my unluck, literally im like 1 tennis ball away from some nice winnings, in the end i needed like 2 won points from like 100 so i atleast win my money back, but somehow doesnt work, its not even my fault sometimes just luck isnt there, and thing is i have lots of skill, i doubt you have atleast half my skill so its natural that i think you are scammer.

I can do that 100% But let me ask you a question - I show you evidence and what? I have your approval? Do you think I care for that? Also I can just post a good month - that alone would not be proof I’m a professional gambler. It’s just a month of good results - I’m not giving you my personal details so you can search me up on the internet - i made this thread to try provide some insight and hopefully people can learn one or two things. If there isn’t anything here for you since you know best then this thread is not for you.

it doesnt even make sense that you dont buy betting accounts, i sold my bet365 account for around 400 euros , guy who gave it back to me later, from what i saw he blocked that account in like 10 days because he won too much money, so howcome you dont buy accounts at all.
2020-11-29 15:52
I do not put your poker career in question but it is strange that after winning "millions" of euros in bets they have not limited or blocked your account. I face it practically every month xd

Im capped - I use many bookies to spread the bet out - E.g - I put £100 on the same result at 5 different bookmakers and the best workaround is to use an exchanges like betfair or smarkets because you are not betting against the house but another bettor and the house simply takes a commission

I understand, although I have never used the betfair exchange. Although many people don't like it and I understand it, my solution has been to operate on crypto pages. So far I have not had any problem of limitation or withdrawal of funds.

2020-11-29 16:24
To be fair youre either capping or you live on peanuts each month, you wont get in more than 2€ on any of your listed bookies if youre actually +EV and you havent reached the premium exchange fee it seems. Only way to _make a living_ from esports betting is to constantly be buying accounts or beating the asian market, unless you live in like Zimbabwe

Mate can you explain what are the chances of rigged games in CSGO? Let's take tier 2 team -> let's say Mad Lions are playing against unknow russian or south american team, 10 teams in a tournament, TOP1 gets 15000$. Why not bet against yourself in such games and make 50-70k instead of 10k? I am pretty sure FURIA does that, when they play against weak opponents, they always loose 1-st map (I assume they always have a bet against themselves) and later when coefficient on their victory improves start to play better, out of nowhere literally. Can you please share your thoughts?
2020-11-29 15:13
1 reply
I didn’t see this comment - It happens in low tiers but at higher tiers there are way too many eyes on the players to do such a thing. It’s maybe a throw but not matchfixing. Also getting this information out of the inner unit of the team is almost impossible unless you have history with the player and there is a level of trust. No top player would admit to throwing a match for any specific reason - they would just play without caring and say it wasn’t an important match so we were having fun. The opportunity to profit from high odds is there if you can realise when this will happen to a team - for example NaVI were throwing in their last rtr event since they’ve already accrued enough points for the major and it’s an inconvenience to play the tournament.

How long have u been betting on csgo? I started watching in March then started betting a few weeks after that. Now my most profitable market I have found is csgo, outside cricket and horse racing. I have been close to a 6 figure pot before have won thousands multiple times off small stakes but agony for me was being one horse away from winning 300k :( last month.

I started in 2018 - I hadn’t played cs or even thought about it for over 10 years but by chance ended up watching the cloud9 vs faze final I got into it and started learning about the pro scene again and soon realised how profitable it could be - so I started learning how cs is viewed by the pros so I could analyse it in the same way but with my own knowledge on psychology. I primarily do table tennis (really good market for odds betting - basketball, tennis and esports (dota2 and CSGO) I do football too but very rarely - tennis is very easy to bet on games even though it’s low odds - you can lump at like 1/3 for them to hold serve and certain players are serve based players so it’s really easy money depending on their opponent. Sometimes I’ll do two tennis games and that’s it for the whole week. I don’t go for big wins - just consistent amounts - I only do singles/doubles Unlucky on the 300k though :(

Fair enough, I do bet on WTA from time to time, on mens tennis I get no luck, like nadal failing to hold serve for match v medvedev and screwing me for 500 from small stake- ofc not covering. If I had won that 300k, I would have definitely turned pro too :(

i have 200$ right now, what do you suggest how much for me to bet on each matches? i always kinda like go for handicap or over-under maps for 20$, and i also put 10$ on over or under rounds.

bruh trust your instincts, dont follow predictions of random people. Also do not bet on handicaps. Those are very random. And ive lost 1000's of $ on fucking handicaps and now i never bet on them.
2020-12-03 02:44

what i mean by handicap is on maps like +1.5 or -1.5, is it that bad? i always think if i should bet more to get money faster, my goal is get to like 1500$
2020-12-03 02:46
8 replies
yes betting on +1.5 is safe like 80% of the times, but on a given day anything can happen. Analyse the team's forms , dont pre bet always, sometimes make a live bet after the maps are out...see the win rates of teams on the maps etc and make a decision... If you want to make money faster, there is always the chance to lose everything faster as well. Dont chase the odds always, be patient, takes risks once in a while. Also never bet on team you are a fanboi of, because then your judgement is clouded.

hard to say 200 is very small amount when you start losing. Best tip i can give dont chase small odds, if you bet on 1.4 and lose two times almost no way back, you must be really aggresive at finding 1.7 1.9 odds try to increase stake when you are sure about win lol what else you can suggest xd

my strat, id bet very safely if 200 in bank, when i get to 350 i could bet 30 and maximum maybe 50-70, after you lose and you have less hope, i like to give it bigger shot in the end but it can bring you down sometimes.

you're suggesting that i bet smaller? i never bet on below 1.5 odds, its not really worth the bet and the time. i always look for 1.7-2+ odds

i remember there was betting site where you get 100 or 200 units cant remember, and you get called, an expert small type of achievement, i bet only 2-4 units everyone laughing at me why i bet so low its not even real money, i lost so many units in row i lost pretty much everything xd, you should always look, how much you need that money, for example if you bet bigger amounts, you can try cashout your bets, or like make opposite bet for secured smaller profit, if you in need of money you cant gamble with too much luck you must try to secure your bets.

I've won around 15K this year while also studying in Uni. I think the hardest thing for me is not being biased and trusting overdogs too much. Few weeks ago there was ForZe vs MIBR , and i really like ForZe team the odds were 50/50 so i just bet on them even though i had a pretty good feeling that MIBR will win. I had a combined bet of 700 pounds of 5 matches, and this was the only one i lost. Would have won 8k
