Who would you award for the Best Coach of the Year 2020? Pick 3 names at most
For me the ones competing for the Best Coach of 2020 are:
1. XTQZZ(Vitality): the favorite one because Vitality finally is top1, he managed a real 6 man roster system unlike other teams aka Astralis, and finally all other players are performing and not slowing down Zywoo
2. Hunden(Heroic): with a limited team skillwise, Heroic still manages to win trophy and be top 2 but I am not sure until which extent he was really important without coaching bug cheats
3.Tacitus(Triumph): dude with a shit team and losing key players during the year still managed to win a trophy and get in the top 30 kekw

zews started well but dropped off at the end of the year, cogu has only a month of coaching, guerri has been the entire year with the team only improving. vitality lost way too many finals, and getting the psychological side of things is also a role of the coach so i wouldnt put him in. At the end, HUNDEN and Guerri are the best this year for me but they two got banned, which makes it more difficult. Tacitus is doing a great job but is hard to judge since is a T2 NA team
other than these i can only think of tow b, coach of BIG, this online era has been great for them.

I would put Guerri on 4th, because of Furia amazing 2020 campaign but they still failed against new MIBR and European teams, plus Fúria has good players while Vitality without Zywoo is nothing. They were consistent throughout the year and they even defeated NaVi recently and became Champion in a worldwide event
Zews made EG(which has average firepower) stronger than Liquid and even giving trouble to Furia despite a bit of drop, thats why i would put him on 5th with Keita from Complexity

would put him under literally because of 2 matches at blast qualifier (and at the end they qualified either way)??
and vitality was consistent on losing finals, not saying that their coach is doing a bad job but that shows something
EG has been great since last year, they had always been better than furia for example, this year they managed to overcome liquid but furia overcame both of them to be the best on NA (is easy to say EG has less firepower now that they are playing worse)
You may be even right, but honestly just leve hunden out of here, the best we can do is to not talk about him

k0nfig is much more impact player with a rifler than candian is with the awp.
he could be in astralis, but because of depression, magisk was over him. (he and magisk was one of the greatest duo I ºve ever seen player, all the time I watched them back in dignitas time I already knew that both would be insane in high level)

Agree with you, 6th man roster and leading game of Apex works perfectly well thanks to xtqzz (and his team : Mat etc.) definitely the goat of all coaches.
Vitality understand why coaches have an important role in the team and why the coaches should make the decisions (roster changes, etc.), not the players

I'm not in the team lol but what I heard is : Mat is assistant coach (work on strat, tactics but also relations between players, he is an ex-csgo player).
Matthieu pêché is the manager (Olympic games winners) works on health practices and other things,
There is analyst : Tony (SOFTYgo) and also mental coaches (especially for Apex), poker players
And yeah, players training their reflex but especially health issues (we say in French "a healthy mind in a healthy body" )

Old Mad Lions with Bubzkji/Accilion were as good if not better than current Heroic lineup, in terms of individual skill

Stavn, b0RUP, TeSeS, cadiaN and niko were all star players at some point. If their potential was managed properly (Heroic - bad organisation), they would have been unbeatable by now. ML, on the other hand, had only 2 relevant aimers(acoR and Bubzkji)

XTQZZZ - Vitality is nuts
Guierri - Furia is good with a very innovative playstyle
mCE(Chaos Coach) - despite having like 30 roster changes, he helped keep them a consistent challenger in NA, even winning a tournament without steel

Chaos is good because they have insane aimers plus Marke who is a good aimer too, more merit to the players than the coach i guess

he also got a lot of credit from grim for helping develop his talent in the team before triumph
I don't think it would be fair to say that Chaos is only good because of firepower, when mcE helped develop their skill and playstyle so that they could use their insane aim

XTQZZZ would really deserves to win an award like that, because he put so much work to make this team works and it pays since the beginning. People always reduce Vitality to zywoo, but it's so much than just zywoo. That's really unfortunate that XTQZZZ doesn't speak english because it's so interesting when he talks about Vitality or CS in general and he is really funny as well. Maybe it would be great if someone could translate all his interviews he gave on 1pv because i'm sure it would interest a lot of people.
TLDR : XTQZZZ is goat of coaches
