BUT where is the time limit for event wins? For example Navi won Katovice are they till tier 1? At the moment i wouldn't say that but THorins way isn't clear in that point

i personally prefer thorins way, because there is such a huge difference rn between say like vitality and faze, that they cant be in the same tier imo

I think Thorin has it almost spot on imo, even though it's weird to call teams like BIG etc Tier 2 under this definition. I'd go with Tier 1: Favourites to win an event and the teams that will challenge them (usually the top 4 teams) Tier 2: Teams with the upset potential/ dark horse teams (usually top 5-10) Tier 3: Teams that get to playoffs in your typical DH Open Tournament Semi-pro: Anyone playing in events lower than Dreamhack (let's be honest, if you're not competing at the top in CS, you haven't made it)

I dont think HLTV ranking is bad but relating tiers to it dosent work because sometimes maybe all top 10 super close and competitive and other times only top 5 is really good while rest in top 10 not rlly gonna do much I think based on potential to win tourneys and upset potential in teams, so in online era is kind of weird to look at it but say vitality, heroic, navi, astralis, maybe big could all be tier 1, some of those teams really 1.5 kind of because of inconsistencies, then tier 2 would be teams that can make it far and in tourneys and has upset potential over tier 1 teams, then tier 3 dont have chance to win tourney but chance to upset tier 2 team, and tier 4 would be like teams that make it through to tourneys only from invite or online qualifier but dont have chance to win anything, maybe a miracle upset but thats it, kind of like Isurus at BLAST just how I like to look at it anyway, similar to Thorins view I guess
