Yep, but i have played only Risen 2 actually, it was laggy sometimes as fck but overall i liked the game, tho there are not so many gsmes in pirate setting. But i recommended him risen 1, cuz most players say that risen 2 and 3 suck in comparing to the first one.

First Templar maybe? Not open world but it's kind of an rpg, kinda clunky controls but not to the point of like irritable or anything just like stiffer than modern games. I found it fun and there's some history to be read in it although it's super low fantasy made up stuff
