ENCE became a top tier team for the rest of 2019 alongside Vitality and lulquid (Astralis didn't play much, neither did Na'Vi hence s1mple was #2 and not #1) until the Berlin major at September because they kicked Aleksib. ENCE was a force to be reckoned with, but now only 1 player remains in the team of that core.
Saying "and navi lost to ENCE LOL" is stupid when u consider how strong ENCE were for the majority of 2019.

It doesn’t matter if it shouldn’t have happened or not, it was the deciding round in the match as both teams were broke, and had NaVi won that round they win that match, and they would’ve matched up better against astralis than ence. But instead S1mple wiffed in a fight he forced, practically throwing the match.

You would expect the best player in the world to make the best decisions in any situation. Just because he got 2 kills before that doesn’t justify him making a mm level mistake, he’s paid to do this, and any other pro player would’ve just went to ct and played the bomb. It wasn’t like he panicked and went for that fight, everything you saw up until the wiff was intentional.

Yeah he won both player of the year and rookie of the year in 2019 over ZywOo xD
He won some online qualifiers and cups and one tournament - the prize was massive (3 mil USD) as a "Fortnite World Cup Finals" but that was it pretty much. Meanwhile ZywOo... Any other person from LoL/CS seemed like a better choice.

Factually not true. Won 3 tournaments in 2019 (Summit, DH and Epicenter), small lan in 2018 and now IEM and had 5 MVPs in 2019 alone. Making up things will not strengthen your point. It only makes it look ridiculous tbh. Wishing something isn't real doesn't make that true.
And don't get me started on how pro battle royale works. One tournament (however big it is) doesn't make a player better than someone that plays consistently at the highest level. One hit wonders are a thing after all.

This is a popularity contest, and it does say a lot. You don't just have to be the most popular player in your own sport (like CSGo), but overall the most popular player in all of esports. It's kinda difficult for CS players nowadays to win such awards, because most people have started playing other games. CoD/Fortnite/LoL players might win esports player of the year now. That's exactly why this award actually means a lot. Only Olofmeister (2015), ColdZera (2016), and s1mple (2018) have won it, I think.

Valve sends a few nominations every year, based on player rankings I think. And last year, some other player in some other sport did something spectacular lol. CS might require the highest skills, but Cod/Fortnite/LoL/PuBG players gain more popularity nowadays. That's why they win.
CSGo players won in 2015, 2016, when CSGo was the most popular game by a huge margin. In 2017, somebody else won it. In 2018, s1mple brought in huge viewership and gained literally millions of fans, several millions of votes, and won the award, also made CSGo the most popular again. In 2019, neither s1mple nor Zywoo were the most popular in all of esports :(

Valve doesn't send nominations, they have a group of people + votes from public for nominations. Last year ZywOo wasn't nominated, this year s1mple isn't, it's a complete joke how they weigh CS esports lesser than other games

I agree. It's not just about his CS. It's because of his "very interesting personality" :D He has a story, a character arc, that people can get connected to, or polarized by. And of course, he has the confidence to go for jaw-dropping plays, and actually make them work because of his skill. It just adds to more popularity :D

This year at the game award event (related to best game of the year and others categories) only one esport athlete is from cs:go scene (two are from COD, LOL) and this person is Zywoo... Well I 100% being a fanboy of zywoo but I wonder if you people who are not really impress by his level of kicking ass.
