Need help. Does anyone know how to distract your mind long enough for you to sleep? its 12:30 here and I need to wake up at 6am, I’ve had 3-4 hours of sleep each night and the whole day I feel tired as hell but then when I get to the time that I need to sleep and I end up staying up until 3. Yeah I've been suffering from sleep deprivation for a long time too. Been taking sleeping pills for years, but honestly nothing helps better than a few beers. I drink 3 to 4 beers every evening before sleep now, and I might have become an alcoholic but at least I'm getting my much needed sleep.

Man, I've gone months with 2 hours of sleep a night. Some nights even no sleep. Impossible to function. I will gladly take my daily 3 beers if I can get a good nights rest and feel perfectly fine during the day.

3-4 beers a night is hardly the full force of alcoholism, not much alcohol in beer anyway. If you start needing a shot when you wake up to stop the shakes that is a problem.

I think it varies from person to person. I've never woken up with a headache after drinking, even after 10 shots of vodka, so it's possible to avoid for some people.

Don't really experience any negative side effects. Apart from sometimes being a bit groggy and dehydrated in the morning but that only lasts like an hour

Well I hope things turn out well for you. I used to have pretty bad sleep too but something happened and it just dissapeared out of nowhere. I still have super fked up sleep schedule but atleast i get a 8h sleep

Fap before sleep. Also try to get as tired as you can during the day- maybe go for a long walk or get some groceries etc. Drink some warm milk (not coffee or tea) Keep away from electronic devices a couple hours before sleeping (or use the orange light thingy) Try to find a youtube channel or video that soothes you/calms you. 3klikphilips videos tend to do that for me- I find his voice soothing. This is an rather unproductive advice but try to stay awake for as long as possible. Its bound to fuck up your sleep schedule or cause other problems but I do that when its absolutely necessary.

Apparently if you relax your entire face and lay down with enough force you can sleep instantly. Try thinking of something relaxing or something that made you fall asleep easily before.

exercise during the day so you're tired when it's night time, don't play video games before bed, don't drink caffeine or taurine before bed... if you need to wake up at 6am and you want to have 8 hours of sleep which obviously means that you need to be asleep by 10pm, you should turn the lights off in your room an hour before and lay in your bed by 9:30pm

I still have insomnia, but not as bad as I used to what works? - do some sports before u go to bed (gym or running outside) - get a steady daily rhytem/routine Last resort - alcohol (but u wont get into a deep sleep, and ur brain does need that to process the day) - weed - cum (jerk off / have sex)

Don't drink Monsters, redbull etc, don't drink coffee either, no energy shit, 2 hours or so before sleeping stop using the computer, phone etc and if you use them keep the brightness to the lowest possible. Do that and you will sleep at night for sure (also do some exercise during the day in you can, that also helps to feel tired and sleep afterwards) You can thank me later

Ive already tried some Sleeping hipnoses (cant recommend you since the instructions are on portuguese). I didnt fall asleep but it was the most bizarre in a good way feeling ive ever felt. You should try one day just to see how it feels like

First find the reason. Can you not sleep because of continuous thoughts? Do you feel sleepy but can't sleep? If you can focus on the reason and combine it with the solutions people mentioned here, you might get fast results. I had this problem this summer. It was similar to yours. I stopped looking at screens 2-3 hours before sleep except solving some algorithm problems (which tired my mind), I forced myself to wake-up at 6 am and ride bicycle a couple of days in a row and I did not sleep during the day. I got results in 1 week. Once you get used to sleep at a particular time, you should not lose control. I usually go to bed around 12. Sometimes, I feel sleepy around 11pm, I don't go to bed and spent some time online and I lose my urge to sleep after 12.30. Then, I sleep at 1, next day even later etc. it goes out of control. So, once you feel sleepy, you should sleep.

Good point, usually I get off my computer at around 10 but then go on my phone until 12 then I try to sleep. I will get a bit sleepy at 11:30 but I’m just too lazy to get off my phone. Also I stay up quite late because I feel most energetic at 1 it’s kinda weird.
