Not true in the case of ZywOo, he has specific roles when he plays rifle e.g. as B anchor. He plays both rifles and AWP in every match (and is a god).

Eh I think for the past month/in Eu grim has been doing really good even in the matches against mousesports and Australia (Maybe just because stewie set him up on the b site holds)
That is debatable. In terms of pure aim I would say Grim is currently top 1 NA right now, but of course the FURIA guys are better overall since they have lots of experience against top teams.

1.22 in 2018,1.10 rating in 2019,1.11 in 2020. Performing against top 20/30 teams online doesn't make you the best when your rating falls to 1.1-1.12 when you start to actually play LANs vs top 20 teams... He's a top 10 rifler for sure, but he hasn't done anything at big events to be considered a top 5 rifler.

They've both been shit in this online period, even in his slump he's performed better than Magisk, a 1.14 vs a 1.09 rating...but over the past 2 year Electronic has definitely been the better player... 1.2 rating vs 1.15 in 2019 and in 2018 a 1.17 vs 1.15.. and that's while being on the same team as Zeus and Edward, and then boombl4 and GuardiaN.

I suppose Electronic stats might be inflated a bit because he is a better pistol player than magisk, but it's probably harder to get better stats on a bad team because you are usually left in bad situations because of a whiff or a bad call. And let's not forget electronic is an entry fragger... he's fucking crazy. Best aggressive rifler for sure.

ofc when magisk is igl, otherwise they are pretty neck-to-neck. if you look at individual match histories, magisk is more consistent but doesn't get as high ratings on his good games, so it balances out with electronics highs and lows
also magisk is basically support on t-side so hard to even compare them

yes but hes just not on the same level. idk how you can compare magisk to niko, thats pretty ridiculous. niko is one of the best hardcarries in the game. hes up there with s1mple etc. below them are players like elige, device, ropz who are also incredible and usually top 5, but cant really do the same things. and then comes magisk.
Actually having IGL experience for the rifler is not a bad thing...

he is a way better player than hunter or niko. you can add up frags, you can take the average stats but in the end CS is a knock out game. you win or you lose. if you have like 32 frags and you fail to deliver in the final rounds of the game, you lose. and that's why magisK is a winner because he thrives in that kind of situations. the same applies for device. check the last few rounds in overtime. it does not matter how bad of a game he had the 30 rounds before. he delivered(like the rest of astralis) when it's neck or nothing.

yeah and whats so hard about his spots? theyre not one and done. hes a lurker and a fairly passive player on t side, usually an anchor on ct with lots of multikill potential. he plays good spots and has decent amounts of freedom.

s1mple plays rotation on most maps , so is always moving to where the action so he will be getting alot of fights , if he wins them , usually he does , than he will get good ratings because of that too. On t side he goes for openings , who is well player but will boost is stats too.
magisk doesnt go for openings , because dev1ce does, plays for example pit on inferno and destroys completly, is very rarly that he doesnt get a multi kill. NOT PLAYING ROTATION. if there was a ratio of , how much oponents you see/how much of them you kill. he would be on top.
my point is , he doesnt kill more , because of no oportunity, but what he needs to kill , he kills.

easily. device is an amazing awper who can perfectly adapt to the style gla1ve and zonic implement while having superstar levels of impact in almost every game, hes also an incredible rifle player and has amazing all around game, can perform in a more loose style as well, play a lot of roles and fluidly switch between them. gla1ve is probably the best igl and made the best team of all time out of a roster that isnt really stacked with superstar names.

yeah and he wasnt some insane igl, he was just ok. the team relied way more on individuals when he called. i also cant see how itd be useful for him to know strats that are gonna be outdated in a short time, astralis would get a different player with different skills and maybe different roles, the strats wouldnt stay the same.

This is a good point because it shows how when they relied more on their individuals they struggled more. Not saying they're not gifted players we all know they are but it's definitely easier to lose games if you're relying on your stars (G2, Faze, NaVi). But with Gla1ve being back means they rely less on individuals and are stronger overall.

3.His rating dropped went from 1.10 (all time) to 1.08(last 6 months)
Which isn't really a big deal. Besides, he also had to play with 2 substitute players before glaive came back from his break.
I personally don't think of alex as anybody special, he still has to prove he can do anything against top teams without "zywoo kill" strat.
I have 15+ years of cs experience, and from my point of view, if alex costs 500k i would not hesitate to pay a whole lot more for a player like magisk, whose experience from astralis alone would also help build a good structure to the team.

A lot of the arguments on here are very hard to make because they are comparing riflers who play totally different roles. Comparing guys like Electronic and Dupreeh to Magisk, Niko, and Ropz is very difficult because Elec and Dupreeh are hard entries for their team on T side which is a much more difficult role to boost your HLTV rating. So comparing ratings isnt as relevant here. Hunter, Dupreeh, Electronic will be underrated a lot based on rating. Also I think K0nfig should be in consideration for this year because as an entry he has been dominant, same with mir.

Most often on T side it is dupreeh and electronic making the plays and opening up space for their teams. I agree Boombl4 is very underrated in this respect because he is often first onto a site as well, but elec and dupreeh play very difficult roles and post elite numbers considering it. BlameF, Ropz, Niko, stavn are very different in this regard. Xantares, Zehn, Frozen have also been amazing riflers this year too.

as i said, dupreeh isnt entryfragging as often as you say and he has a great team behind him that makes the job easier. hes not like art or friberg in the old days, almost no one is. on a lot of maps other players on astralis go for the aggressive plays. for example device on inferno. if anything dupreehs ct play is more underrated. hes really good on vertigo b site for example

Sure. Good points. Was just highlighting the fact that people are comparing a lot of riflers who have very different playstyles and roles and using ratings to make comparisons but it is not a direct comparison and doesn't capture the essence of what makes certain players so effective.
