 |
Russia Evil_DaviD1
Today is the anniversary for OG CS:GO: one year in this discipline! And for one year this roster is playing together. In honor of this, the organization released a video dedicated to this. youtu.be/lbf2zD15Las Let's hope that OG will end this year in the high note and with the trophy! #DreamOG

They should start get some finals under their belt for real. Now they are just losing all the actually important games.

3 games and you're in the final. It's defenitely a small tournament, what are you talking about?

I have nothing against OG, but they seem just bland. Imo they lack a personality. They are from all over Europe / Asia which means that there is no dedicated fan scene for them. The players are just really profile less, they are not players who are controversial or flashy. I think they are genuinely good guys, but they bore me to death. I think 80% of OG fans are aleksib fans who now hate ENCE and that's it.

I was an ENCE fan (before they kicked Aleksib), but i doesn't hate this team. I just didn't agree with that move, i think that it wasn't right. It's the same story with Zeus and Na'Vi and etc.

Yeah, but without him Na'Vi in first time lost the legend status and was #17 before the returning of Zeus. While before, with him they was #1-3 team.

you gotta keep in mind that they planned on having starix lead them as a coach, but Valve implemented the coaching rules two weeks or so after navi kicked zeus
2020-12-05 16:00
I think most aleksi fans love seeiing ENCE fail. Can't blame them though. Still no neutral fan ever sees a OG match on the match page and is like: "OG??? I have to watch this." A star player would suit them well to somehow increase their relevance.

I mean at least couple months back many people were claiming that Furia's, Fantic's and OG's games were the most entertaining to watch.
2020-12-05 03:08

I have not seen a single person make that claim for any of those three teams. I am sorry. It is okay to disagree, I do not mind. But you and the other two guys are not coming from a neutral perspective, while I am and I just do not care for them. I do not hate them, I do not like them, they just exist. What makes them dislikable in my eyes though is the Red Bull involvement. Fuck Red Bull.

How are they ruining the sport? If anything they are whelping orgs become successful. Not everyone who sees Redbull as a sponsor will go and buy a Redhill and be addicted to it. Most won't quick frankly
2020-12-05 04:19

They are creating artificial clubs all over the world in football, ice hockey and many more and ruining fair competition and forcing proper clubs into lower divisions and sometimes even bankruptcy. Red Bull Leipzig for example has Red Bull Salzburg as a farm team and they have the FC Liefering as a farm team. Other teams do not have that, it is against fair competition. They also break german club rules by not having club members eligible to vote, except if they are part of the company. etc. etc.

You might come from neutral perspective but you are also ingnorant. Those teams have been said to have exciting games and if you would have seen their games, you'd know that the statement is true. You say that OG have no personas but they have Aleksib who is very liked by many people also outside of the Finnish community. If you think about it, not many other teams have multiple personalities who would bring new supporters.

The thing is you really only need those standout players when you do not have a fanbase based on your origin alone. Most teams do not have that issue since they all come from one country or one region at least. However a FaZe, a mouz, an OG, a complexity need those players, especially if you haven't had a fanbase to build on from prior teams like mouz did. FaZe had NiKo and cold, now G2 has kennyS and Niko, mouz has ropz and chrisj as a veteran and nostalgic fan favorite. Also karrigan who I would say is pretty similar to aleksib in terms of their status and history. complexity also doesn't really have such a player, maybe blameF with his extra-ordinary biceps and great fragging, but they play so seldom I can't really tell. No one gives a shit about GODSENT either, no body really cares about VP anymore. Nobody cares for C9 except maybe for some brits, who care most likely more for Endpoint.

2020-12-05 16:51
Furia? Yes, arT's playstyle is very entertaining to watch Fnatic? Yes, fnatic's infamous knife kills and trolling in general make them a fun team to watch OG? No, they are a very generic team with no unique personalities, like they don't even have a real star player, they are just 'solid' I think that OG are a good team, I'm especially happy for AleksiB for proving the world that ENCE made a mistake by kicking him, but they aren't a very entertaining team to watch

I definitely would. Navi is very easy, you would just need to look at their AWPer and whether he shakes like a maniac after shooting, because that's how s1mple plays. I could also easily spot Xantares, Xyp9x, ropz, NiKo probably even chrisj due to his stupid deagle buys.

No, because the games were tight af, lot of comebacks, winning constantly rounds they should lose, whole lotta 3-map serieses - they had like a 3-month period where they didnt win a series 2-0 against a top 25 team.
2020-12-05 11:58

That happens with any team... the thing that makes a team not entertaining to watch is the lack of a star player/having a boring playstyle. For that same reason, teams like Astralis, North, NiP, etc. are pretty boring to watch as well.
2020-12-05 13:30
I mean, valde can be a star in his own right, while NBK and ISSAA can support him. Mantuu, as well, can take over a game, not very often you see that though. I'd expect more from valde. True though, non of these stars are like truly big names
2020-12-05 07:23
Well, in the beginning i cheered for OG CS just because of Aleksib and because it's my favourite Dota organisation, but with time i really liked the whole roster. As a players and persons.

Well, i guess valde was supposed to be OGs star player, but he hasnt been showing the excellent form he had in 2018. He's still a great player, but not really living up to the expectations of the fans.

I see what you mean, but the best valde ever ranked in HLTVs yearly ranking was 20 in '18. I have a hard time really considering him a star player. Also because he is from Denmark, who are so oversaturated with good teams, I don't think that many danish fans still care too much for him.

Yeah i know, but i remember valde getting a lot of hype from cs community late 2018 to early 2019. But in my personal opinion, OG has to bring 1 young talent to their squad from either fpl or tier 2-3. Mousesports are a prime example of how that can pay off - young guys coming in, popping off and being some of the crispiest and most chill players in tier 1.
2020-12-05 17:15
I have said this like million times. On results we can definitely see that it wasnt the best move, but we dont know about things inside the team. I hope the best for both, ENCE and Aleksib, but just to get the taste of reality, still would like to see that OG drops a little bit when these Aleksib fans start to think a little bit more about things than believing that their idol is always right. Sadly when these fanboys have came to cry to me on pm on HLTV or on Instagram etc, they dont want to event try to understand the possible reasons of benching. I dont think that ENCE would have benched him for a small reason, or even because they got offer about suNny, there had to be something wrong within the team and because there was not other option, they did that.

Considering the actual players on OG lineup it should not be possible to even be top10 team online so they are massively overperforming already and most people in the scene (casters, analysts and other players already know it.) I think there was even a tweet from blamef praising aleksib ability to create space for his team after he single handedly carrier OG against C9 in nuke (the rest of the players just lack proper gamesense to play the map correctly). It's pretty obvious that no matter what happens he is going to have a bright future and possibility to win a major either in OG (if they make necessary changes) or somewhere else (when he does get poached into a proper tier 1 team). I understand the hate against aleksib fans, but sadly they seem to be correct in their assesment. Look at what happened to ENCE after the kick and now look at how OG is rank 6 HLTV despite having some really questionable players in a mishmash of a team. Even if they can't win trophies that often, it's a helluva achievement.
2020-12-05 11:50
so they have Finland fans? They have big support from Middle East too and arent like Heroic who barely have fans because all of Denmark are fan of Astralis. Finland has a really big CS community
2020-12-05 03:05

Finnish fans are aleksi fans. If aleksi were to leave they would be left with pretty much nothing. Big support from the middle east? Bruh, there is like 5 people living there. Only 3 have internet, one of them actually plays video games and it is Terraria. There are way too few arab cs fans to make it a relevant group.

Commenting on the lack of an infrastructure and population of a region is now considered racist? Look at you. You had to make a fool out of yourself, didn't you? If me hating red bull would have been such a big argument for me against OG I would have mentioned it a lot sooner, wouldn't I? My issue with red bull lies more in traditional sports and the grutch has carried over to esports, but nowhere close to the extend. Go blow aleksi dude.
