The post says a 650, I have no clue that you have a 670 and the 670 is way more powerful than a 650. So I don't really get it. If you're getting only 100 fps then your CPU is the trashy component of your PC

I already fixed my post, but he's assuming I knew he had a 670 and i said 300-400% faster and not 300-400 fps but brain is fried so salt pigmentation ye.
Definitely not true for csgo. Everyone I know plays low settings, even with 1080ti. 4770 is not getting doubled in performance at this price range, even with a gtx 650 as a bottleneck.

Obviously not, CSGO is a CPU based game to begin with and a 4770 is on the lower end scales of CPU's, a marginal upgrade at like 150$ you can get a ryzen 5 2600 and it'll blast the 4770's nutsack out of the water. The 650 is really fuckin trash though so too he would need atleast a 750ti if he wants above 144fps and both of those parts together would cost you 250$

If he has that gpu, he most likely has a 60hz monitor. Also, you would be suprised how similar those cpu's are in performance. It definitely is not a "blast the 4770's nutsack out of the water" kind of upgrade. It honestly isn't even worth upgrading from the 4770 to the 2600. I wouldn't even consider upgrading the 4770 on 60hz until you are getting gpu's around the 1080+ level performance. You have to remember a couple of things when comparing these cpu's. 1.) productivity means absolutely nothing for 90% of gamers. 2.)The gaming performance is 10-15% better if you have a good enough gpu. If he bought like a used 1070, rx 580 it would be 5% better MAX. That CPU is probably the very last thing he should even consider upgrading in his system. GPU, monitor, hdd(if he has) to ssd should all be higher priority. If he plays lots of other games, and would be a 4k gamer instead of a 144hz gamer, then getting a rtx 3000 series or rx 6000 gpu would still be a better upgrade then a used rtx 2000 card with a better cpu.

The 3060ti is a budget card, there is still a generic definition even if you had a lot of money and thought the 3080 was a budget card. Because honestly most people don't even have PC's, them spending 500$ on just a GPU is like a wtf moment when you can buy a full PC for 400$ that can play games

if the 8gb version of the rx 5500 xt costs the same as the gtx 1650 super, i would take the rx 5500 xt
it is slightly faster while also having a more future-proof vram capacity (especially important if you plan on keeping it for a while)
and the drivers have been flawless according to many reports

Some GPU in the line of Radeon 400 and 500 series should work. At this point you'll probably get an RX570-590 for a better relative price than the older ones.
Better GPU won't help much unless you play at FullHD or use high settings which would be dumb with your setup.
If CS:GO is your priority then save money and buy new CPU+RAM+MB first. If you want to play other games, then you could try to get at least 1060 (6 gb) or 1070.
I had RX580 8gb and it has some noticeable input-lag. It was great in singleplayer games, but I wouldn't suggest to use it (as well as 560, 570, 590) for CS:GO or any other competitive game.

It's not about amount of cores, it's about singlecore performance. Also you will have significant boost because of DDR4. Even Ryzen 1600/2600(x) will have better better performance in CS:GO, not to mention 3600(x)/5600x or Intel 8/9/10 series.

On i7-2600 non-K you will get 250 fps average with drops to 170-180 (maybe even lower).
You won't get 200+ on i7-2600 non-K, I have i7-3770 (non-K) at work and only get 180+ fps in CS:GO.
With overclocked i7-2600k you will get 200+ probably.

maybe u havent optimized everything u can to get over 200+ fps.I have my win 10 optimized for cs go to perform better.Do u have mat_queue mode 2 on-it gives + fps aswell-try unparking cpu cores too,steam settings too

Any of these GPUs are more than enough for 144+ fps. I recommend RX series, GTX 1660 or 1650 Super.

You'll havea big bottleneck with the cpu if you buy a better gpu now. The smarter decision would be to wait and buy everything together unless you find a good deal like the 1080 for 150€
