I completely agree -- the game DESPERATELY needed updating and now it actually isn't that bad at all.
It is still one of the best comparisons when it comes to initial, over-hyped bombs, however.

wrong, people just expect games to be completely perfect day 1 and its just not realistic anymore, the game is perfectly playable and fine if it isnt working for your setup then just wait a few a days till updates hit, people are the most impatient and biggest pussies now, if you want to talk about games that bombed then talk about fallout 76s launch, game and collectors edition both
But the difference is that No Mans Sky lied about DESIGN features.
Cyberpunk drama is more about bugs and graphics.
I didnt watch trailers and stuff before, and I expected a Fallout 4 like (which sucks) in a cool cyberpunk environment and technically good. It seems to be like it.

I am well aware of this. I only made the comparison to No Man's Sky because the user mentioned that it wasn't to expectations.
Would have been a perfect game if it was fallout with cyberpunk map, I really like the followers feature Bethesda has.

I think the fact that it took so long is bad yeah. if it came out when it first had to, it would break all records because even graphicly and everything would be "up to date" now with all the delays it will still break records i'm sure, but i'm not sure wether it will be deserved. We shall see.

All new games will have bugs to a certain extent but at the same time, that also is not an excuse.

It is dependable on the bugs in question - No game is perfect and it is different for everybody. You experienced game-breaking bugs, other users had a different experience with the game.

I hope it helps, also cd project red has made a separate version of Gwent , which is free on Steam, and its details and complexity are much more than the original version(I still prefer the original version in Witcher 3)

I don't know how people can say bad things about this game, everything about the Witcher 3 is incredible. The music, sound effects, the DLC, the combat(get boring after a while), the story, Gwent, and the visuals are amazing and what impressed me the most was how they added dialogue related to the DLC into the main story itself... The level of detail is astonishing

Do you need to go through Witcher 1 and 2 before jumping into 3? I'm considering trying it out but don't know anything about the Witcher series.
bought it years ago and tried it out a couple times. Always stopped 10-15 mins in cause i cba. Just seems like i walk around slashing with a sword and doing some spells and thats about it? Isnt it just the same for 150 really? I just dont feel much for this dude i dunno... changemymind!

you're correct, all three are games aiming more to be cinematic rather than have actually fluid or deep gameplay, sometimes sacrificing intuitive controls and player agency for it (like laborious animations in rdr2).

well you said its a fair comparison. With that logic i think it is fair to compare csgo to splatoon because i have guns and rounds. pretty much the same game. No offense tho, im just tired of people always saying some game is a ripoff of another game and then argumenting it by mentioning fundamental game mechanics.

Wasn't GTA the gold standard in open world when it came out? i'd say superpunk is trying to replace it as the new gold standard. Other than that, i don't think it's much of a comparison.

GTA didn't invent the sandbox genre but it set the standard of what a sandbox game should be; henceforth the unnecessary comparisons.
What is even more humourous than it should be, is that GTA is the worst possible comparison for Cyberpunk 2077... Mass effect is probably the closest comparison.

So many people hype up the game even without playing it. I think a bit of skepticism is fair here and the game doesnt look insanely good right now. Gun play seems kind of boring and so far I've heard the story isnt that amazing either. I would say its right now a decent game but definitely not one of the best games

They delayed the game several times already and i doubt there will be gamebreaking bugs or glitches at launch.
The reviews so far are amazing, so dunno what reviews you are waiting for... if you dont trust the 20+ gamesites and streamers who praise this game hard why would you believe the next review whether it says its good or bad game?

Wait a year. Don't follow hype and buy goty edition or complete edition on steam sale for 10$. For example : I got witcher 3 goty edition for 5$ in steam sale. Always buy game in sales. Normally you can buy 5 games for 300$.In sale you can buy 20-60 games. Ex:- Deus Ex is less than 2$ in sale.

Do you know sleeping dogs had 90% discount after a year of release. Doom is 2nd example, gta 5 all had 40-75% discount after year. CD projekt red do discount very heavy. Its not ubisoft or EA game.

The GTA example is the closest one to come close to a comparison, but thats a terrible example as well since they CLEARLY wanted ppl to play online and are making 90% of their profits on microtransactions in GTA Online.

Dunno why but i find no joy in being some sorcerer witcher and the combat in general..

I agree. The jealousy is almost palpable when reading some of the comments. It would appear also some users want to hate on the game just because they can, yet the likelihood of them playing the game beforehand is to be contested.

Youtube doesn't handle darker colors very well so it's gonna look pretty bad and on top of that a lot of the footage is from PS4's. You're getting a double filter over the game before you see it. It's CDPR, the graphics aren't gonna be worse than the TW3.

Heard the game is only about 41 hours if you even do all the extras. THAT has me extremely worried.
I heard even completioninst can beat it in only 90 hours....the amount of time you spend per $ is not worth the value.
They might have spent too much money trying to put their favorite voice actors/gaming legends in the game.
And sure, I understand, depth over length. But at the end of the day, I am not quite sure this game brings enough to the table based on the streams I've watched to warrant that kind of argument.
Story does not feel too deep at all, but the small details and music may make it enough for some real hard core fans....

First of all. I did not use the word, "terrible." That's your own perception of the verbiage due to a pre-conceived notion when replying to me. So, please erase that.
2nd of all, you do not go to the movies alone nor do you experience it the same way like games...
You go with friends usually to enjoy it with friends and part of the reason why theatres existed was to facilitate that environment. You cannot simply cross fields like that. You're quite literally making a logical fallacy/strawman's argument right now. But whatever, I'll play along with you.
3rd of all, a movie does not factor in all the repetitive gameplay mechanics or kill enemy x with x new gun to get x new equipment to then equip and continue again and then get into cutscene or plot point. It does not incorporate how you must grind through a combat scene to get to the real meat of the side story or extra which is usually a pop-culture reference or a funny side joke or a jab at cross-referencing into another video game...For me personally, as I said in the beginning of my original statement where I said it has ME worried, it is not worth it.

Regardless, in my opinion, making comparisons across different fields is a terrible way to execute an argument, especially if the core experience of them is way too different.
I would never go to a theatre alone compared to playing a game alone.

Yea I was going to say this but I think I've only seen the dev say that. So far, gamespot, screenrant, comicbook gaming, howlongtobeat, and pcgamer all have it around 20-40 hours, however.
What I noticed is things in the game change wildly depending on your decisions. So very high replayability.
And there's a ton of content here. If you go on AC Odyssey's hltb page it says 137 hours for completion, but anyone that's played it knows there's at least 250+ there easily without going full completionist.

It was a bit of a disappointment for me personally tbh, gunplay feels mediocre just slightly better than a fallout game and character creation is incredibly lackluster for an RPG where even Early Access games like Baldur's Gate 3 have way better more expansive character creators. Also it's more buggy than a Bethesda game at launch, felt like an Early Access game and visuals were pretty shit on Ultra too imho but that problem was exacerbated by texture pop-ins and other visual related bugs. AI is not that good either and the physics go wonky at times where they clip through the world. Honestly it could have used another delay, expected way better. To me it feels like a mediocre early-access RPG, wanted to love the game but honestly couldn't. Wasn't even on the hype train before launch so didn't have insanely high expectations either, I just expected it to be on the level of other RPG's with gunplay on par with either Far Cry 5 or DOOM all of which it sadly isn't. Honestly rather replay a modded Skyrim atm than playing that game and don't feel the itch at all to pick the game back up which I normally never have with new RPG games, only time that happened was with Fallout 4 which was also beyond disappointing.
