best time to add a map is during the player break, but valve xaxaxaxaxa
9 maps in the map pool could be a good idea since there is a lot of maps people want to see in the comp pool. Also pros wouldn't like it because of their already intense work efforts with 6/7 maps. So probably wouldn't happen but might be cool if it did
great, we will only have full execs and crappy plays.
I prefer to see great counterstrating and highlights because players know the map by heart
But there are not that good maps. Maybe cache, cobblestone is trash with the updates. And I mean its not that tough to learn a map.
And more maps in active duty, a little RNG on the 3rd map is always nice.
vertigo everybody had to learn or it was permabanned by all
other maps you dont learn, you play 24/7 in faceit or something
bring back de_season
Mirage and d2 should be removed from active map pool. All strats in these maps are invoked. Indeed, an fpl mix team can easily beat a pro team in mirage. This map sucks.
Before we get to new, original maps, there are still plenty of older maps still not in the current mappool:
And really old ones that never saw a pro rework, like:
de_dust (yes, the original dust was played in tournaments in 2001)
de_comrade (this one was actually kinda good, and cool)
de_fire (old cpl_fire)
de_tuscan (pro rework of cpl_mill, currently being remade by Brutes, soon to be finished)
de_lite (saw US play during 1.6)
de_season (even saw some csgo play)
Maybe the pro scene can find a way to work around more than just 7 maps, i realise most of these won't really ever be adopted since their fundamental layout is just bad,
As for really underrated original maps:
de_santorini (somewhat interesting)
de_subzero (legit really cool map, i really wish Valve pushed this one and kept the arctic models...)
de_ancient coming soon, watch out
I agree 100%
Map rotations are waaaaayy to slow iN CS.GO.
yes maybe 5 locked maps chosen by valve and 2 rotating maps from a map pool that has 3-10 maps maybe tournament organizers could choose from
At least we have the problem of having too many good/decent maps we want to see in the pool rather than not enough that you can't even fill a full map pool with trash ones. (Ahem, Valorant)
Yes, the pro scene does need new maps. IMO, majority maps might end up like dust-2 aim arena and meta would be timing the prefiring angles. Also, in newer maps having more spots like popdog, window jump, vent drop would be cool.
