fallen was a part of one of the most legendary teams EVER, he is a guy who understands the game, not an all aim no brain like s1mple, he fits this liquid like a glove, if you actually pay attention to CS you know he still has value, and he will prove it. he dont need to drop 30, him supporting the team, communicating, doing his job > s1mple anyday.

the fact that fallen is a lengedary player proves my point, using any year argument just means he can play big games, this is the hardest thing to do as a legend, all the legends play evern better on pressure situations, age can afect raw skill players I agree, but fallen still useful as he is very supportive player, thats why he can be good in 2021.
on the other hand u have teams like navi, with a player like s1mple, that can go 300/2 in a match, have the best performance on groupstage everytime, but hum... when the big game comes... HUMMMM

I wasnt fan of this move but if he is motivated they could do it honestly, they have the firepower and Fallen can still awp unlike someone :( so if he can be a good IGL they can be solid even in EU
The other side of this coin is that Grim looks like he can be a really good player. Maybe elite. As a rookie he's slid right into a T1 team and performed.
Fallen brings a voice that the team can buy into. Something they've literally never had. That alone may be enough assuming Elige and NAF continue being S tier players and Grim becomes one.
Either way it's a good thing that the team is focusing on IGL. It's literally always been their biggest hole even with Nitro.

I don't actually mind your take as it's possible but the reality is if Twistzz wasn't happy or the team wasn't happy with him it was best that he left for both parties. Then you are left with the unfortunate reality of what do you do.

Sure but you get a balanced team role wise for the first time since Liquid became an elite team in 2018.
I'm not saying it will work. There's a million things that can go wrong including what you posted. Basically Fallen just doesn't have it.
But in theory it's a good move.

The team still has really good firepower. Objectively to use your name for a second here.
But it might not work. Absolutely. Reasons could be cultural. Age related. Motivation related. Game has passed him by related etc etc etc
Put it this way if they brought Karrigan in who's a .9 level fragger I'd call that a good move. If Fallen is now that bad (I don't think he is but maybe) he still brings leadership and Liquid desperately need leadership. Aside from 6 months in 2019 when they basically bought into themselves finally they've just never had it. Forever second placers without a guiding voice.
Could be the move combined with Grim that takes them to the next level my dude. We'll have to let it play out.

But the reality is Twistzz wanted to leave or the team wanted him to leave or both. Supposedly for a fairly long time.
Best to have him out of the squad if this is the case. Core of the team is still one of the youngest in the top 10.
One of my issues with HLTV takes is you guys say stuff like this ignoring the reality of the situation inside the team. Like of course you would rather have Twistzz then Stewie in a vacuum.

Liquid needed an awper/IGL able to speak decent English.
Though MIBR were awful during 2019-2020, I don't think it was Fallen's fault. Other players - specifically taco and fer - were underperforming.
I don't believe that Liquid are going to be #1 again with this roster, but it is going to be an improvement. At least there is logic right now, not only 5 riflers. One can question if -twistzz was the right move, however. Maybe -grim or -stew would be better.

I would have opted for Xeppa instead of Fallen. They went for a gamble, signing inexperienced Grim, now he is one of the best Players they have. Picking a motivated American AWP, who speaks fluent english would be better

Firepower is not Liquid's problem,they need an experienced IGL, and they need a Main AWPer. There's only 2 names i can think that simultaneouslly fulfill both roles: cadiaN, who wouldn't leave Heroic, and Fallen. Fallen won't reach 2016/17 level anymore, but maybe that new challenge can give him the motivation he needed.

The best version of Liquid, recently, was with all American team. They just needed an AWP, Stew could have handled the situation. Fallen can comeback motivated, or in a Neo/guardian 2019 form

No Stew can’t handle it he is too braindead for an igl against top teams he can’t antistrat them in game doesn’t think about detailed defaults like Fallen has + this move is great because Twistzz can join teams like Extremum Faze etc. Look at all major winners now Rush is playing shitroles like Apex Coldzera Olof etc. They were stars at the time but now they take these roles because their era is over. They help the team with some problems that many teams have and by that they can be still relevant. Meanwhile look at KennyS or JW that think it is still 2016 or before and they miss shots and rage(mainly Kenny). Fallen is 2 faced snake as we all know, but he said that he is not there to shine. He will hold with awp meanwhile playing support and basically he takes 2/3 important roles from Stewie10Am. I don’t like this guy because he is a stupid pusher, but now when he is a free entry he can make big impact that can win games

He has the most important role on the team, which he was already doing as an IGL , but now he can focus on it - entry fragging
If stewie can do his role like he was in the First half of 2019, then they have some definite potential to be top 1
