In my Top 5 I had NiKo at 4th and Device third, though it is possible for NiKo to get Top 3, it is unlikely he will be higher than Device who is also a Top 3 contender.

they seem to value playoff rating and vs top 5 and top 10 rating a lot where niko has a huge lead. In my eyes it's like 65% device 35% niko for 3rd.

mouz won Ice Challange (which is a LAN event) and made into the EU EPL Grand Final with losing 3-2 and made into the Dreamhack Winter Grand Final. NiKo made it into the playoffs at some tournaments both in FaZe and G2, but I don't think it's enough to become top 3. Edit: Maybe NiKo would be top 3 if HLTV calculates stats as #12 mentioned, but it's very hard to see NiKo in top 3 in my opinion.

But he was considered top 3 for like 70% of the year. Device started showing up when glaive came back again. So NiKo could realisticaly be top 3 since he was pretty consistant and it's not as impossible as some people claim that it is.

Last year s1mple considered 100% of year until hltv actually used stats and shown everyone that zywoo is the best. Still after 1 event win in kato everyone including talents sucking s1mples dick again. Actual stats of whole year matters. Krimz in first 3-4 months performance made him top 20.

Uhhh... you must've hit your head pretty hard if you're struggling to read basic statistics. Third highest adr out of s1mple/zywoo/devve, with Device having the lowest out of the 4 players Highest DPR out of all 4 (very poor, even for normal players) Lowest KAST% Lowest 2.0 rating out of the 4 players at 1.10 NiKo also had around 550 rounds at a top 5 level, while Device, S1mple, and Zywoo have around 2000 each, indicating that he was too busy losing before playoffs to do anything. On top of this, NiKo has also had the worst performing team out of all of these players (and guess what, that's his fault for thinking he is competent to lead, G2 have taken elements from old FaZe I can explain to you if you'd like. ADR doesn't matter in any part of CSGO unless you get the W Same with K and KD Wins is what is important and if you get a lot of ADR and Kd But still ont win, there is something fundamentally wrong with your game plan. Especially if you pick the team around you

My point is nt exactly. If you get 5k each round on CT side but the c4 detonate every round, you will be good but you haven't helped your team win. You need to know the deeper aspects of the game to win. Sure, this is silver example, but it works as analogy for top tier cs as well

Well, yes and no. Because if you drop 2-3k every single round (not exit kills) but still lose them that doesn't make your kills any less impactful but rather that your teammates aren't doing shit. CS is a team game and you can have a great performance, be very impactful, and still lose. And when this happens it doesn't make you automatically a baiter, eco/exit fragger like many people say in this forum. It also means you are doing all the work but it (logically) isn't enough.

Not necessarily the case with NiKo. He wasn't really in bad teams outside of mousesports but they couldn't win even despite having some of the most skilled players in history. NiKo just takes too many resources.

That's part of my point. Your kills might be good and might mean something - but unless you win, the kills in itself isn't important. Kills and stats are only milestones or tools to get to the main goal - winning rounds

Yes but winning isn't the most important in these TOP20. s1mple hasn't won much this year but is still getting either #1 or #2 and dev1ce who has won more than both will be #3 at best. Stats aren't related to winning rounds or titles. KPR is KPR regardless of win or lose and that's what these TOP20. Winning will naturally increase your odds but with these monster players like s1mple, ZywOo, and NiKo who don't win everything they still get high placings because they often get super strong performances even they don't result in a win for their team. Not saying it was the case for NiKo this year though.

You get rating boost by winning though. Having 25-20 in a win gives higher rating than 25-20 in a loss Going in deep runs is important for the "committee" regarding top 20 Besides being an awesome individual, NiKo misses out on almost all other metrics used for the top 20.

This year's ranking is based mostly on the 3-4 first months of the year and then further determined by EVPs and MVPs. So his ADR compared to device shouldn't matter much, device has had 3 MVPs and more EVPs. Also, Astralis had strong showings early in the year at Katowice and EPL, so that should benefit device more than NiKo.
