This is exactly my thought process. How can you possibly be the GOAT if you were never even the best in a single year? it's an absolutely ridiculous claim to make. If you are never the best, at any point in time, you can't be the best of all time, that just doesn't make sense.

sure he was never the best overall in a given year, but there have definitely been month sections scattered from 2018-2020 where he was the best in the world. The fact of the matter is that nobody else can claim GOAT status. The only person who even nears device is coldzera. The question of greatness stems from both individual skill and team achievements because you have to win to be great. At that point, device is by far the best player that plays for the best team in the world. He has 4 majors, 2 major MVPs, and 18 MVPs. Nobody comes close in those departments except for coldzera who has 2 major MVPs. Another question is consistency, in order to be a GOAT you have to be at the top for a certain period of time, obviously device fulfills that, he's been top 5 for the past 6 years. No other player has the same consistency. Coldzera was 1st for 2 years, then #10 for another. s1mple is top 3 for 3 years running but lacks the major/IGS. To be the GOAT ranking is device coldzera s1mple olofmeister
