Manga's do give a really different kick than anime's sometimes
Below are my fav manga's of all time .
1) Berserk (Till golden age arc)
2) Monster (Absolute psychological, mytery, thriller story plot by urasawa)
3) Holyland (Just read. It's about street hooligans and fights)
4) Kingdom (The best story on fights between war states of China)
5) One piece (Manga is still equally or better than anime)
Hon Mentions: HxH, Vagabond, 20th century boys.

why would you read the manga over the anime? there is only like 1 point to do it - cuz manga gone further, but if you actually have eyes id say its way smarter just to wait for the anime to catch up

Kind of felt the story went a bit down. I mean casca lost her memories and the new army of Griffith was kind of low to be frank. Maybe I didn't like after that. You might have liked it. It's not totally bad but no where near the golden age arc hype level

I have a lot of favorites depending on the style... Silver Spoon, Rurouni Kenshin, King's game (the first one only), Underwater, Minuscule, Doubt/Judge, ...
Berserk is huge but as we won't have the end before years, I can't make a statement on an unfinished story.
