Bans for betting
 |
Czech Republic BIGGEST_GODSENT_FAN
people who bet on/against themselves are fucking retards, and should be banned, but i dont see a reason why they should ban people for betting on different matches?

He lives in the basement with a kitchen and two rooms and pays rent. But yeah, he isn´t making crazy money yet. He will continue tho and is pretty consistent. So idk, I would probably give it a shot if I were good at it.

If he's happy making a living out of that, and living in a basement, he's free to do whatever he wants wth

While it may seem so, legally, it's not. At least not in most countries.
2021-01-22 11:35
well since you are playing the game you may know something others don’t, as in you have access to more information than regular people and you know if you have a better chance to win than the odds

I see your point, but Im not say its ok in means of ethics I meant in terms of rules its ok by my. Because you cant really "cheat" your win as easily as you can your lose. And even if you cheat thats against another rule. TLDR: betting on your self isnt ethical but not banable in my point of view Edit: You haven't been active recently and cannot post replies repeatedly within five minutes

they can set side deals like "if you throw match X, i throw this one" also, betting is not only about guessing who will win, but you can bet the amount of rounds, score at half time, number of kills from one player and many other 'heads'..

I understand the throwing thing. My point was only if like I dont know liquid for example betted on them selves to win the match thats ok by me. Everything else is bannable by me.

One could fix the match with the opposition of Liquid and then convince a Liquid player to bet on themselves, with guaranteed victory and split winnings? I understand what you mean but there are still ways to manipulate this if you allow people from the inside to bet, so the logical thing is to prevent the possibility as a whole.

I know that you can overcome every rule in the world. I was just stating my opinion Im not saying rules are bad and they should change.

This was Valve's take on it in 2015: "To clarify – as a professional player, team manager or event production staff, it is common to have personal relationships and/or privileged information about other teams and players. Because of this, we will always assume that you have access to private CS:GO-related “inside information” that might give you an unfair advantage when placing a bet on any CS:GO game or match."
