Vitality "stream sniping"
 |
Finland Jomppeboi
Why are you guys saying Vitality should be punished because mibr was punished too? The difference is: mibr could clearly SEE the stream, but vitality players CAN'T. + Vitality already had the stream open in the background back in IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 Europe, which they ended up winning. They might have had it open in IEM Global challenge 2020 as well but I cant remember. Yet they didn't get punished/warned. So isn't it pretty clear that it's not against the rules?

it was a TV in their ping pong room my guy - honestly , what probably happened was -- they were watching the stream on TV in the lounge area and then when went into war room/pc room when it came closer to the time for them to play....forgetting they left the tv on.. honestly do not believe they were using it to an advantage. Vitality is a fantastic team (Zywho0) in particular carries the living daylights out of them KDR wise so not sure if liquid would have won with the TV off - but glad to see where liquid is heading

Even if you dedicate a guy 24/7 in front of that TV for streamsnipping he wouldn't be able to tell them anything that important that the players/coach didn't notice from the server. The delay is gigantic and you always have to control the informations you get (mainly enemy's economy) and compare it with the previous 2/3 rounds in-between the delay and real time. It's just nonsense.

They know that they have 5 webcams looking directly at that position so if they knew there was the stream going on behind them, they wouldn't let it run. People on their phones in the room is more concerning to me than the stream in the background. That's my opinion but if a team would want to cheat they wouldn't do it in front of 300k viewers

NEO (the CEO of vitality), often likes to watch the game in another room not to bother them playing. Sometimes you see him just behind the players, but sometimes he is in that room behind, so it's pretty dumb to have the stream open behind them I admit, but they do not use it at an advantage

With 5 minutes delay, it's not efficient to just watch at the stream for 5 seconds. You really need to analyse the mini map during a few rounds to see positions and recurrences. So maybe another people did that, but just "they can see the stream at any moment" is not efficient at all to have info

Yeah, they also have half of France in their room who can easily relay information. Don't think that they are cheating but their whole set up there makes it way too easy top be sketchy. Only players and coach should be allowed in the room, also phones and any outside communication should not be allowed (unless it's an emergency). Online cs era is a joke though. All this dodgy stuff + lag issues and the worst thing is that It's easy to igl when the coach is doing it for you (let's see apex igl on lan lmao). Need lan back.

Yeah, would be cool to have an online major where valve puts up money and teams get special facilities in their area to play in with local admins present to mitigate this kind of bs. Don't think that would ever happen though.

This is literally what you answer to everyone.Idk if you watch f1 or not,Ferrari used an illegal engine through whole year in 2019, and it was only discovered by FIA after the season ended. It takes time to figure it out,and it may also be dump of blast.Ik that you are fan of this team, but you cant deny that it's not good and they must be punished

Agree with you. Except for the Apex part. The coach is limiting himself to what he could do on lan. It's been months now. The idea they have is to prepare for the lan coming. This is also why there is a lot of person with them (including the boss during the finals), so there is a little more pressure on the guys when playing. Doesn't mean they will perform on lan (since two rookies), but it's not fair to say they abuse of the coach situation right now (from what they say).

Even if they were not using it to cheat they need to be warned at the very least. There is 0 reasons to have the stream open during a match, since you cannot prove ill intentions the solution is to just punish ANY TEAM that has it open for whatever reasons so as to be fair to everyone.

Theres like 4 people behind them, and any one of them could easily watch the stream, not to mention they have their phones out, and the possibility of outside communication is there. Now I doubt they are cheating, they probably did not, however, this makes this situation acceptable, and other teams might follow and actually cheat

I think every big tournament organizer should have AT LEAST 5 MINUTES of delay on their stream... so teams could have the streams on and it wouldn't make ANY difference, this bullshit would finally be irrelevant (nowadays with the current delay I already believe there is nothing to benefit from, but with 5 minutes, it would make stream sniping 100% irrelevant).

I am sorry, even if they do not use it they should respect and not use phones/TVs to watch stream because even the slightest of info can shift the balance of all. it all started when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Aimer, master of all four Weapons, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and some shitty org discovered the best talent, an awper named s0mple. And although his aiming skills skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to win majors. But I believe s0mple can win a major

Very likely some staff member watching outside the player area or they forgot to turn it off after watching the game prior theirs. Still bad optics and unnecessary, might be worth a fine at max just to make them remember it next time. 2021-01-22 21:00
Yhea there are even white panels etc, you can barely see it tbh from the inside of the booth. Blast has: -6 min delay between the game and the stream - All the voice coms of the staff (coach, analyst, players) - All the cams watching all players and the staff members behind -Vitality's CEO already talked about it to reassure Vitality fans, saying there was no issue, Blast has all the informations and would have punished them if there was anything wrong. They didn't. -From now on, they probably won't make the same mistake because haters will gossip or try to undermine their performances like one stupid s1mple fanboy who made a thread about it just to revoke ZywOo's top #1 and give it s1mple instead^^. Cringe.
2021-01-23 03:39
-Vitality's CEO already talked about it to reassure Vitality fans, saying there was no issue, Blast has all the informations and would have punished them if there was anything wrong. They didn't.

There is a 6min delay in Blast (3 rounds or so). Blast have the cams and all the voice coms from the coach, the staff, the players. If they did anything wrong, they would have been punished. They didn't hence they did nothing wrong, the TV was on only for 1 or 2 min and instantly shut since probably a guy in the other room just realized he shouldn't leave it on. The CEO of Vitality already talked about it on twitter and addressed the issue. There is nothing against them. Stop trying to gossip or revive dead accusations.
2021-01-23 03:35
Someone from the Vitality staff could be using that info and tell the players, I think it's just unacceptable. Like c'mon, why the hell would you have a TV with the stream nearby when you're literally watching the guys playing LIVE from their PCs.
