306 new cases yesterday, 0 deaths and we only got 131 in hostpitals.
Sounds good, right? They almost completely locked down the capitol and surrounding area this morning due to the situation and the whole country live under restrictions like max 5 visitors in your home, can't play sports, closed bars, closed schools etc.

Glad you guys are managing to keep numbers low.
It is interesting to compare our two countries, with similar population sizes, similar cultures and similar ways of dealing with the pandemic one would think out numbers was also similar. However while our numbers are till low compared to many nations, they are much bigger than what you have in Norway.
Back in spring I am pretty sure what made the initial difference and it may it is still part of why there is the difference. Lots of the people that spread the virus here early had picked it up while skiing in Austria, the Austrians not only failed to react to the virus running rampant in Ischgel in fact they kept it a secret. So with lots of Danes going to Austria for skiing, and naturally many more than Norwegian, this then meant we quickly saw the virus spread.

When you test 4 times less than denmark you get ''4 times less cases''... we have tested soon 13m meanwhile norway is at 3m.
And then we get to that norway isnt visited that much compared to denmark, and neither a country where ppl pass through to get to sweden or germany etc, norway is alot more isolated up there than here and then as you mentioned we went outside of denmark to skii etc where norwegians can just go outside their backyard to skii.

Less testing means lower numbers, but it doesn't mean less deaths or less people in hospital so you should just compare those numbers.
Also while I think you may be right on international traffic, it is not really what kicked thing of back some 10-11 months ago - that was the difference in in people that had been to Ischgel.
A note on testing in general. Currently we are not far from testing a million times per week, if we keep it up we will soon be the most tested country per capita. Already those that have done more testing than us is tiny nations with the exception of the UAE. Not that testing as such is a goal, but it should mean our numbers are reliable and also since we do gene analysis it means we know what strains it is we are seeing.

I do agree Norway been far better at keeping corona away from the weak compared to here where we literally fking up constantly... the amount of times i heard that there is someone in a nursing home having corona is literally every month.
And yes deaths and those in hospital gives a better picture but even those numbers doesnt give a perfect picture of who does what better, but it is better than just the amount of ppl daily having corona, because as i said testing less gives fewer infected because if we stopped at 3m tested then we would have about the same numbers that norway have just with more deaths etc.

I don't know if it's every month in Norway, but there were three nursing homes with multiple deaths in December.
One of the closest nursing homes managed to get a 100% infection rate by not isolating the patients that had corona, so the elderly just visited eachothers rooms.
It's almost like they don't want it to spread. A few cases now can mean thousands of cases a few weeks later.
New zealand and australia did the same and they are basically covid free and can do whatever they want.
