That is a god awful take, they smoke to make the situation not as awkward, if an entire group has to move outdoors so one person can smoke that one person will feel awkward, since all the non-smokers are forced to be out in the cold solely cause of him. If another person smokes with him he wont feel as awkward.
I smoke more as a nice gesture and sense of comeradery, than to fit in myself or because I enjoy smoking.

Don't worry about me, I know my boundaries and I do not feel the urge to smoke, so I think I am far from becoming a smoker. It definitely isn't healthy, but I doubt the occasional cigarette will be what kills me when I am living in Stuttgart where the air is pretty much only car exhausts. ;)

In Canada, if you're a smoker you get at least double the amount of breaks as a non-smoker. Especially if your boss is a smoker, you can just go take a 5 minute smoke break whenever, but non-smokers can't because what are we gonna do? Just stand outside for 5 minutes lol

I find that to be really annoying as well, but I want start smoking, just so I can be lazy. The absolute most I smoke is twice a week, usually it is zero though.
I think I am a person who easily gets hooked on things which is why I don't ever want to enter a casino, but with cigs I never had an issue. I think I might just be too stingy to burn my money, lol.

That's a bad comparison. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere second-hand smoking is worse in closer proximity (though I'm not sure). Plus driving is a form of transportation very important in modern day life, while smoking is purely optional (for most people). So while cars provide benefits, smoking does not.

You are just disgusted by cigarettes and their smell, I can understand that and as a smoker if I knew that I wouldn't smoke near u, but i actually dont give a fuck about ur taste towards cigarettes and so does most of the society I think.
And when I mentioned drivers I was trying to make an allusion to the fact that they are pumping CO2 and other gases in our atmosphere everyday, the fact that they can cause accidents its in another scope I guess.
Btw, cars are not a necessity, we had being humans and lived well without cars, cuz i_car about history and I know that cars are a 'recent' invention if we take the human history as a whole as a parameter. Oh, and you can still choose to ride bicicles or any other form of transportation, better for your health and for the environment.

Well for those addicted to it, it really helps you relax and takes out a lot of your stress, and other than doing bad for your health I don't see any other prejudice about it, I dont loose control over myself when I smoke, I can drive after smoking a whole pack and I will the drive the same way I would if I didnt had smoked that pack. A lot of ppl who fight others addictions find a reliable crunch in ciggarettes, but yeah its really bad for your own health

You agreed with someone who said smoking is a menace to society.
If I personally wanted to breathe second hand smoke, I would have to go to an effort to seek out a smoker which would probably involve walking to some inconvenient area at a shop or something.
What I'm saying is that it's so damn easy to avoid that if you find yourself breathing it and that it's a menace to you, you would probably be best served asking yourself why you went to the effort to put yourself in that situation.
I know other countries have different smoking laws which don't prohibit smoking within 10 meters of shop entrances etc. which is why I mentioned the flag.
If you're in Adelaide right now unfortunately the smoke is unavoidable, but it smells more like a campfire.

oh lol I was just mentioning how second-hand smoking was the 'menace' that the other guy mentioned. Yeah, I agree with what you said and it's pretty easy to avoid here in Australia. But I've also been to China for a few weeks as part of a school thing and there were people smoking everywhere so it really depends where you live like with what you said.

Ah righto, yeah I'm not sure how old you are but when I was in my early 20's after a night out in the pub I would wake up and even my pillow would stink just from second hand smoke.
That's not even that long ago so I'm not surprised if it's still like that in China (and other places). I guess we're lucky here then!

I always have a lot of cigarettes on me (or nearby) because a few of my friends smoke. I won't smoke normally, but I'll smoke depending on the situation. For example, if I'm drinking tea with someone who's someone "respectable" or like another "boss" I'll join them when they smoke. I'll maybe smoke once a month (so like maybe 3/4 cigs a month), but I haven't smoked in a long time.

I have only ever smoked two cigarettes in my life... Both were due to peer pressure in school and after both times I threw my guts up on the field. The smell is also unbearable, which is ironic as practically everybody in my family is/was a smoker, yet I just wasn't.

I imagine you can do it for quite a while and some might never get big problems but in the long run it surely ain't good for your lungs and it still got a lot of the same bad shit like cig smoke due to the combustion. I used to smoke every day too for a bit but I felt like it would be bad in the long run. I mean it's prolly also not as bad as cigs because some people end up smoking a pack a day but I don't think most regular weed smokers have 20+ joints a day
