So I bought a used pc 2 months ago but it barely runs cs over 100 fps. I know from Fers stream it's supposed to run much at at least 400 fps but I can't figure out what the issue is. From the looks it's a 1080ti, in speccy it says 1080 ti also in windows it says 1080 ti? but I can't figure out the bottleneck? I've got 1080 ti i7 7700k Samsung 240 hz curved 1080p I play 1280x960 stretched
2021-01-24 09:38
Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
Shouldn't be a bottleneck from what you've got, but you shouldn't get 100 fps. Maybe the issue is in drivers (update them), beside that idk

Try reinstalling the game, maybe you've got the wrong directx (If you haven't done that already)

Before that though type fps_max 0 as #8 suggested that might actually do the trick

have done it jumps barely 100 was a bit too over dramatic. 150-200 is probably more right but still much much lower than it should be

CSGO is more CPU dependant game. You can get good FPS with a crappy GPU if your CPU is pimped out.

honestly have no idea, might wanna validate files or just reinstall steam or something. Is it just cs or other games as well?

run a gpu test on Heaven Benchmark these are the settings and your results should be less than that since he overclocked the gpu but run the test full time then come back i.redd.it/xnqjlxahv3ly.png

okay, since it's not faulty Hardware. It means it has to do with the game itself. I have this problem where when I put Global Shadows on High my game crashes trying to load into a server or similar. Try settings your Graphics all to low through game files. You'd have to check on Youtube on how to do that.

If you don't know what the issue is, then keep gathering more information than just fps. Temps, clocks, ram specs, etc. Use msi afterburner monitoring tools.

2021-01-24 10:21
1. Your GPU was used for mining(install it in another pc and mine bitcoin, then when you get enough, buy a new gpu) 2. You could install some mining shit on your PC(reinstall windows and delete all the files) 3. CS or Nvidia settings. Check out if there's any like FPS limit. Maybe you run in power saving mode

it's normall intel boost mode, if u set maximum performance or high performance in power settings then your CPU will be running at higher ghz just because of it;s own boost technology. if you set "balanced" then u would notice that when your not playing, your proc is on lower frequency (but then its a bit unstable, its being adjusted when system thinks you need more power)

No it doesn't. Look it up on youtube. Plenty of videos made on it. The only risk is the longevity of it, as it's been running at high temperatures on average so may die quicker. But the actual performance of the card will not be altered.

There is a weird issue with my PC. Whenever I play CSGO, the PC restarts. All other games, like FIFA 19 and GTA V work fine. CSGO is CPU intensive game, I tried disabling MultiCore Rendering. My specs are low - i3 4150 @3.3 Ghz, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GT 1030 2 GB DDR5. Someone please help ! This has started recently after the launch of new options. I even tried capping my FPS to 60 in case my CPU is not able to handle or something, but then also it is happening. can someone help ?

it's definitely not your cpu's fault. there could be a Thermal Throttle that forces your pc off. Check your temps then come back

how do i check temps ? the game restarts as soon as i open it and apart from it everything works fine. sometimes the game does work, reaches the lobby and shit, but then restarts. also there is a weird issue. sometimes the game is stuck on the logo screen and then i have to sign out of windows and sign back in to make it work.

in BIOS : Check that your CPU runs at 4.5 ghz (BCLK 100 - Sync all cores - 45 multiplier) Enable XMP for your ram Enable Turbo mode Enable HyperThreading Disable Interl Virtualisation Mode Check a video for BIOS optimization with your motherboard and CPU and tweak these settings accordingly In Windows : Set powerplan to Ultimate performance (check online how to) Disable Xbox game bar and DVR Nvidia control panel : OpenGL rendering GPU in CSGO : should be 1080ti Power management mode : max performance Be sure that you run at 240 hz : testufo.com/refreshrate -freq 240 in launch commands, disable vsync and FXAA (nothing to do with fps but it hads input lag) With that you should get 400fps. If not, try to play with your bios settings like turbo mode, hyperthreading etc. Tweak one, reboot, try, tweak another etc. Please tell me whats your motherboard i'll be able to help better.

2021-01-24 11:36
With this setup you should get 3 times the frames.... I have the exact same configuration with an OC to 5.1GHz. Maybe try running 3dMark TimeSpy benchmark (free on steam) and see if ur results check out for that config - 3dMark will tell you by comparing the result to the same H/W. Then you know if its an issue with the H/W itself or OS/CS. Download CoreTemp and HWinfo64 for temperature and frequencies check if its a H/W problem. Vsync off, obv..
2021-01-24 11:32
Go to nvidia 3d settings, program settings csgo, turn off vertical sync and remove max frames, tweak some settings it should be solved

Make sure your 1080Ti is actually a 1080Ti, and the previous owner didn't buy a cheap AF '1080 Ti' from China that's actually like a GTS 450 with a flashed BIOS to make it think its a 1080Ti. Google some images of a 1080Ti, and make sure it actually looks like one, including the ports on the back. Ignore what people say about cards being used for mining performing worse, it doesn't, its a myth that's been tested. there's no moving parts on a GPU, they don't wear down. They either work or don't work.

2021-01-24 12:16
Something is really really wrong. I would: First check a benchmark like 3dmark (demo free on steam) and compare with numbers on some review site If its wrong, full clean windows installation, install only nvidia drivers and do the benchmark again If nothing changes, its probably hardware related

20xx widely regarded as shit mens. Never a good value so bad they had to rebuild the whole lineup with the "super" cards which weren't even much better. Yes I know they're trying to ease demand by fucking re-releasing 2060. They can produce these to fill the gaps since its on 12nm and 7nm demand is the problem. Picture this: I bought 1070ti for $575CAD RTX 2060 comes out at about $600CAD 1070ti is somehow fucking stronger than 2060 despite it being the same price years later.

that's not the point of course 1070tis aren't around anymore new. The thing is: If you were trying to upgrade from any decent GPU newer than like 2013 there were no good value options. If you were building first PC or moving from like a gtx 660 or something, a 1660ti or a 5700xt would have been nice though.

1. Does your nvidia have your resolution set to 1080p 240hz in your resolution area. Mine sometimes defaults to 60 or 100. 2. Turn Verticle/gsync off with csgo from the 3d application settings area make sure your max frames on there is also off 3. Check your cpu is ok, do this by going on msi afterburn and check to see if all cores/threads are running or even being picked up. :)
