BEST FRENCH SONGS?
Italy NotNew
my 10000 comment yahoo Ok I know this thread will be full of French "hiphop" but I wanted to ask the frenchies what are the best/your favorite classic Fench song? I'm interested in chanson, chanson à texte, yeye Also no, Moi, Lolita isn't the best french song, you just wanted to fuck her, you perv. I already know Edith Piaf, Francoise Hardy, Serge Gainsbourg Any obscure good artists that should I know? My pick youtube.com/watch?v=O6MGGh8WUco Does you guys count his songs as a "French" music even if he's b*lgian? I mean he sings in French... For me this is better even than his "Ne me quitte pas"

A bit corny but wasn't all the 80's a bit corny? I remember this, I think they were a one hit wonder, but catchy synthpop. btw: I'm looking with songs with lyrics because I plan to learn the language this year :)

that's a great idea starting to learn a new language! i'll recommend you something that helped me learning french. talking to french people is hard in brazil so i started watching children cartoons which they speak slower and with clearer phonemes

catchy but what's the with the video? Is this in the record version as well? it goes silent and then francoise hardy talks on it? This "ft" is a bit misleading unlike this youtube.com/watch?v=iQ6u5KQVn-M

No problem, idk if you're familiar with what Serge Gainsbourg has done too, I don't have any one off the back of my mind but I think there are some interesting songs from him Also I don't know if you like that style but Odezenne has some very nice songs, they're less classic than most of my other entries but I think they have a nice vibe, a bit more hip-hop inspired (here's one of my favourite song from them, I also like their album Pouchkine a lot :D youtu.be/sqIgr_xmGVI ) (sorry for the long reply but I just really like sharing songs on HLTV for some reason)

I have nothing against hiphop, despite my disclaimer, it's that I'm trying to learn french and songs helps. hiphop has 3 problems in that sense 1) it's way too fast, I mean I'm fluent in English and sometimes can't even understand UK hiphop, grime, drill or whatever 2) they usually use a lot of slang that I don't know and it's problably useless to learn 3) they make a lot of references to something current that I may not know (unless I check genius.com every single time) But the one that you posted has a nice synth beat at least and it's pretty chill
2021-01-25 13:35

I hope you'll learn french easily, I think Georges Brassens' songs might fit well for that because they are quite slow, gl with the language :D I'm not gonna recommend all songs I know but if you have spotify I have a small playlist of non-hiphop french songs, if you run out of french songs to listen to maybe you'll find some stuff open.spotify.com/playlist/1cUXEaRVFLEn4g..

Thanks. Yeah if you want to drop like 3-4 hiphop classics, maybe the one with the best lyricism and I will save them in my playlist. Like I said in #65 I have nothing against hiphop, but for those reason they're not exactly the go to songs when someone want to learn a language Btw have you ever heard of Catherine Ribeiro? I love her music, but it seems that even Frenchmen don't know her, maybe she's more popular outside
