Forum thread: hltv add player roles,coaches and 6th players

There are player roles on liquipedia but I would like to see them on hltv too

yeah i know but it isn't that good to open liquipedia every time to see an new player role,i think putting it under their nicks on their profile/match page would be very nice

this is really stupid ..... you have teams with don´t really have roles nad tems that change roles dipending on maps etc. add coaches would be nite ... but again it´s not that important to avarege hltv user and people who are interested know it so no need for it ... same with 6th player i think it is ok for now :)

teams without roles???i doubt any team in top50 plays like that+great part of the players have max 2 roles)

Solid ideas! +1 The roles would not be that accurate, tho.. edit: adding to it, if HLTV wanted it could bring a BI page showing heat maps of players favorite positions, important stats that might be unrelated to rating, h2h against other players from same positions and stuff like that

roles changes a lot, sometimes in the same series or even in the same match.. also, multiple players carries multiple roles.. for example IGL can be an awper and rifler and entry (arT), a lurker can be an entry, a rifler can IGL in some maps, etc.. On Liquid's game against Na'Vi (2-0), the interviewer asked both fallen and stewie who was IGLing and stewie said he was listening to fallen and fallen said he was listening to stewie but also piching in we could have somewhat of that Gamersclub feature, where you set 3 roles, being 1 of them the main one.. It would be mostly informative and not really accurate, but it would indeed be nice to see

i think putting rifler is unnecessary bcs there are several roles under rifling(support,entry,star,lurker),but i agree that with players like art or kng(igl,awper,entry fragger too) it could be a problem i think liquid is slowly passing the igl role to fallen since stewie doesn't want to igl anymore,eventually only fallen will call i think great part of the players have only 1 or 2 roles though

you know what could work? having every player have a 'bar' or some score showing their perfomance on each role.. like KNG KNG's roles (0-10) IGL: 7 AWP: 9 RIFLES: 7 LURKING: 4 SUPPORT: 3 ENTRY: 9 kinda like this one, but for roles imgur.com/a/n2Zd6si

"support" role doesn't exist. it's just a name for a non star riffler. entries - we already have stats for that igl - you never really know how good an igl is unless you thoroughly analyze voice comms which is way too much work coaches and 6 man rosters - fair enough

if you're talking about the top 10 (insert role), I agree. But I think that it'd be a good idea to put the role below the player, just so people get a bit more context.

in that case you'd only have 3 roles: igl, riffler and awper and even those change between maps so it would create a mess.

then it'd be a good idea to make the players themselves introduce their role/roles on their profile. kinda like what apEX did with params, where pros update their config regularly. and, even if they don't, apEX can do it by himself, since he is a pro after all. he prob knows/can get to know what other ppl are using

maybe, but most players have like maximum 2 roles, so I don't think it'd be that complicated to name them as such

it could help in some situations with small teams or when a team kick their igl(example faze,now coldzera is igling but it's not that easy to know it)

I think the only roles that could be added without spreading misinformation are AWP, IGL and rifle as they are the most commonly known roles to the public. I think HLTV wouldn't stand a chance at keeping support/lurker up to date

they doesn't really change on stablished top20/30 teams,for example in astralis the roles are the same for years and almost every team follows the same pattern

yes but you dont want to add a set of data to a database where the data can only be applied to 20 out of 150 teams, and in top20-30 teams roster changes are still common and will at times impact that the roles. Im not saying its not doable, i just don't think HLTV would want to invest time in keeping the roles up to date

add more boosters... roles is good i think but boosters are important but is a little bit, imagine in tournaments with +15 matches, you stay with boosters
