I have followed wc3, sc2, dota 2 and csgo. And I never found a guy that is so consistent at a level above 99,99999999% of all other pro players.
And with his 2018 performance, he reached another level.
Other games have also amazing players but non that is so consistent at this level.
Talent is one thing but his work ethic is the best you can find in esports. He takes his job as everything... that is the level all players should reach.
And nope major don't matter cuz majpr is a team win and depends on so many things a single player can't change.

no, you don't need a major. It is a team achievement. No matter how good this faker guy is he didn't win anything alone. A Carry can bring you very far but he alone can't win the trophy.

I stay by my opinion. Zywho is never better than s1mple 2020. I can accept equal but he is not better. And some strong stats give me the argument to do it. I don't need to repeat them all the time.
Also Zywho depends more harder on the team than S1mple. You can put s1mple in any lineup and he perfroamnce individual on the same level.
Sth that zyhwo don't prove so far. As I also said If zywho deliver a year like S1mple 2018 you can put him on the discussion to be better than s1mple.

xPeke was pretty much the face of LoL esports for the first three years, and his name has even been given to a tactic, so as a representative of esports he'd be pretty good, not necessarily for amazing performance.
Forg1ven because he had unrivalled talent for esports in general, not just LoL, though he was never on a team good enough to get noticeably far I suppose. He's pretty comparable to S1mple but maybe even more extreme (worse teams, and more talent, though I'm not sure of that).
I wouldn't pick either of them myself, but they are options.

Honestly the major is no different from other large CSGO tournaments. Winning Worlds or The International is a big deal because they're the only tournament of that size, but Cologne and Katowice are often equally or more interesting than the major.
And I don't think success defines how good a player is.
I can't really think of Faker as the best because DOPA is so much better as a player, even though he's not a pro.
I can't think of Dev1ce as the best because S1mple is a better player (by far) and F0rest has been around for longer (by far), which means Dev1ce doesn't win in any category.
But I'll grant that I can see why you would think of both of them as options.

DOPA beats Faker consistently in matchmaking, saying he wouldn't do so in pro matches is what you might call "fake humility", it's very common in East Asia, it's their culture. And especially DOPA has to do it because he's banned from pro League for the next thousand years, he had the top rank on the KR, CH, and EUW servers simultaneously at some point, there's no way he's not the best player in the world. Though he has to be humble because he can't prove that he's better than Faker in pro matches, because of his ban.

The "AT" in "GOAT" stands for "All Time", not "Right Now" or "Two Years Ago". There's no way peak Perkz is a better player than peak Faker, more longevity maybe, not more successful. And obviously team performance is not the same as individual performance. If you're talking about the GOAT of esports players, you shouldn't use the victories or defeats of his team.
But as I've said to another commenter, my own picks wouldn't include anyone from LoL, either N0tail, F0rest, or S1mple.

The man was a top player in 2013 and 14 and was everywhere. Ads on polish TV, featured on channels regarding esports everywhere, had more likes and followers on his personal social than any top team in CS and LoL at the time. Dude was huge. I quite clearly stated we aren't talking best at the game merely most recognised.
