this thread is just /discuss about idiots
Studying computer science, rest I haven't figured out yet.
being over 18 doesn't mean you're done with school
Well, I am 21 rn and I don't want to be 14-15 again tbh
the thing is not everybody will have the same opportunities. i'm 14 and all of my plans for the future get destroyed because i move every year or two, money is very uncertain, my dad is dead, etc. the people you are talking about are not ignorant... they are worried because life fucking sucks and bad things will ALWAYS happen. i average 95+ in school but i still dont see a future because my entire environment changes every year.
It's good to make plans and have an idea what you want to do with your life so I'd say you're on the right path!
Over 18 here, I work as a nurse in homecare. I plan on having a family yes.
It took some time for me to fully commit to being a nurse (I struggled during my studies) and I don't know if I will continue my life as a nurse but for the time being I am content.
im 22, going for law degree at Uni, so my career will be in that area I'm not sure yet what exactly. in terms of where I see myself later I guess I want a house with a nice garden and some dogs and 2 kids max.
stop complaining, thing will only get harder and harder, u will pay taxes, pay bills etc, so shut da fuck up, get drunk when u can, fuck all the girls possible, play cs till 6 am and go to school without sleeping etc
life is great my friend, every phase has a positive side, just do whatever u like and fuck everyone who disagree
Time is an ilusion.. just like a "new day" sun doesn't set or rise, its a different angle of same event, sun is always there same way for billions of years.
There is no such a thing as "things will be better in a near future" , things must be good where u are right now, on the present moment.
you are welcome.
Dreaming makes people feel baselessy entitled, stop it.
im studying medicine and gonna be a surgeon (hopefully in a few years)
idk if its gonna worth it or not.. we'll see
and ofc im planning to get a family, etc
Focus on yourself not other people, if other guys wanna smoke let them? u wanna play csgo, play csgo...
im a teacher with one kid. Family is a big responsibility. If your wife is not the right one you will regret your family. So if you looking for family choose the right girl. Also babies cry too much be ready :D
You grossly underestimate the people around you and put more weight on their performance in school then you should. Some people really are destined to fail, but most people find stability in life. It's great you have a plan, but it doesn't guarantee you anything. I also think it's really important to realize you don't need to plan out your career anytime soon when you're 15 and you're only missing out on expensive colleges if you don't try in school. I probably had different plans for myself when I was 15, and I was certainly a very different person. A LOT changes in the years to come including well after high school. Those changes also apply to all the people around you, and just because they're dickheads now doesn't mean they're stupid or t hat you're destined to be more successful than them. At the end of the day you're a freshman in high school and you should focus more on having fun now than the future.
each day the baits are worse ffs
Those guys' ECs in college app: smoking weed and playing fortnite
I intend to have a family with my girlfriend and study medicine
I don't really know what to do in the future but I decided that I will do something connected with computers - maybe programming.
I can't wait to go trough puberty tho, I am 14 (in December 15) and I am 164 cm tall and my voice sounds like I am a woman, kinda worried that I'll get bullied because of this in high school (I'm in elementary school still, 8th grade, after this year I am going to high school), sometimes when I play CS:GO people are just toxic towards me because of my voice, ngl kinda sucks to be some retarded kiddo.
Imagine planing your life yikes
Just enjoy the moment
i'm 23 and i'm in med school
ill be most famous twitch streamer 33k/month
"I would've never chose coding or ap computer science"
Do yourself a favor, and don't be stupid, that's something incredibly dumb to say.
You can choose whatever you want, and if you don't like it that's totally fine, but starting with something like that early could give you an amazing life if you like it(and most people that work in it does) instead of working at mcdonalds.
Yeah that might be shallow, but the money in hi-tech is awesome, and lots of money gives the ability to do lots of cool stuff.
I work as a software developer.
Anyone who "can't wait to grow up" is an idiot, and I was one of them. Having to worry about getting a job is awful, kids don't realize how hard it is to get a good job and how competitive the world is.
If you're just smoking weed and being a loser in general, you're gonna be eaten alive in the real world.
Stick to comp sci, try to work on a side project, get any kind of experience you can before college, and try to work on a larger project with friends if you can. Learn to enjoy coding. Barely any high paying careers are enjoyable, you think investment banking is any less soul crushing?

I'm 19, atm studying economics
besides school I also work, usually get 500$/week with which is kinda lit number as for my country (I live in Poland atm) & I am doing some amateur investing and actually doing good thanks to ethereum jump in last 3 months 8)
What's about future? become billionaire 8), and I want to stay single as long as possible xd
I'm a security guard advancing in music, single and blue. This coulda been better but it's on me as well as to improve, which I'm going to do. Be careful.
I'm 20 and I wish I was your age lol
i'm 20 and i'm studying Web Development (especially front-end), in the future i would like to have a stable financial income, to have a great family (dogs included), to travel a lot, to make some great memories in general.
ps: hopefully i'll earn some money in the crypto
I'm 18 and have dropped out of CS college. I am still studying CS by myself and i'll have an internship the next years in alternance (1 week of work 1 week of class).
You seem to have the same mindset as many people in the college I was in (very arrogant, demise on other high school classmates etc..)
My advice to you is if you have your future planned and mapped out you should go out and have some fun before because it's a lot of work. And you will regret not having fun times when your classmates were smoking weed and going to parties.

im 14 (gonna be 15 in december). This is my last year on my school (9th grade) and i dont really know what i want to the future, maybe programing? hard question anyway.
I have a normal height and weight, my voice is pretty good too, but sometimes i feel like im being to dependent of the people around me, trying to improve in that.
My family usually says that i need to go to an amazing "high school" (dont know if thats the best word to ilustrate what i want to say, but i think it is) because my sister got to an incredible one. Anyway, it feels really hard to follow my sister steps. So far my grades have been good, i never got less than 85 in the school bulletin, just getting 85 on my worst subject, geography, apart from this one, my grades are all 95+
I intervieweda very wealthy CEO of a company once and when interview was done he asked me to join him for a beer and straight up said that you should stay as young as possible cus you can do stuff without much consequences and mistakes you make arent that heavily punished. Great man we still have contact every once and a while and he gives me very valuable life advice
Moral of story growing up isnt as nice as ppl think it is. Its better to stay young.
I'm 20 in college. 2 years deep learning either repeat of stuff about business I've already taught myself via the internet or stuff I don't intend on ever using, I'm taking an accounting class with a bunch of wanna be CPAs and I have no intention of being an accountant. My advice from someone disappointed in college would be to teach yourself what you wanna learn about. Explore your interests via the internet and use this huge depth of knowledge to teach yourself the skills you want to develop to accomplish what you want. Don't wait for school to teach you what you will need to know go out there and teach it to yourself.
One other piece of advice I would say about figuring out what you want would be to work backward from the kind of life you would want and figure out the necessary steps to get there. Also, pay attention to what your mind drifts towards because it that is a clue towards what you are naturally interested in. Be careful of your (information/media) inputs because your input dictate your outputs. Avoid the news, its just people trying to convince you to vote for someone or trying to scare you so you watch tomorrow to find out what happens next. Begin learning about money as soon as possible, financial education, since no matter what you wanna do getting to a point where you are financially free can never hurt especially if your passion isn't very profitable. Seek to enjoy life, not via the numbing of drugs or sex, but via spending time with good people working together to help each other achieve one and other's goals. Always seek to have a reason why your doing something that's good, and don't lie to yourself since that only leads to procrastination. If you ever need to self evaluate don't do it while your negative cause that never helps; go on either a walk or jog to get some endorphins flowing so you can attempt to reason with a more positive mind.
Don't spend today day dreaming about the future and don't spend tomorrow thinking about the past. Spend today working towards a better future while being present today. Spend tomorrow working towards a better tomorrow while being present tomorrow.
Life will be short so live deliberately, and realize each phase is even shorter so avoid regrets.
Seek to master the space in-between your thoughts.
I’m currently studying Networking and IT and because of covid-19 i’m really losing motivation. 100% is done from home and it’s really hard to stay on track because 50% is supposed to be hands-on practical stuff but we can only do it from home. It makes me stressed af.
If you are very ambitious then no problem, but you really need discipline and video games have a bad influence imo.
