F1 2021 Season Predictions
 |
Germany BlastingDoc
Hey mens, here are some predictions for the 2021 F1 season: 1. Lewis Hamilton 2. Max Verstappen 3. Valtteri Bottas 4. Sergio Perez 5. Daniel Ricciardo 6. Sebastian Vettel 7. Charles Leclerc 8. Lando Norris 9. Lance Stroll 10. Pierre Gasly 11. Carlos Sainz 12. Esteban Ocon 13. Yuki Tsunoda 14. Fernando Alonso 15. Antonio Giovinazzi 16. Kimi Raikkonen 17. Mick Schumacher 18. Nikita Mazepin 19. George Russel 20. Nicolas Latifi Imo it‘s hard to really rate Aston Martin, I‘ve put the pretty high up for now. Also I don‘t really know if Mick Schumacher is going to be in front of Nikita Mazepin since his first season is usually meh. But seeing Nikita in front of him would hurt my eyes. Whats your opinion? /discuss

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
I feel like this season we've exchanged a couple of good/aggressive drivers in favor for some guys with a lot of money... which is kinda sad for the sport itself.

I can very much see this happening, although it totally depends on the gap between Mercedes and Red Bull in terms of pace.
2021-02-26 13:50
Wouldn't be surprised if Russell ends up above the Haas. They've swapped two good drivers for two average rookies and the car probably won't be much better than last season.

Thought about doing that too, but their car is sooo bad. I mean if he gets above the haas, I think there is a chance he even gets above the Alfas. Since you never know about ferrari power.
2021-02-26 12:00

I was thinking the chance of Russell getting another chance to drive a Mercedes due to Covid or anything else is higher than the chance of Schumacher or Mazepin getting any points :P
2021-02-26 12:06
It definitely will be. All Ferrari cars basically lost 0.7-1.0s due to the power unit, which will be heavily upgraded this year.

Yeah Ric is incredible, I can definitely see him in 4th if mclaren improves further.
2021-02-26 12:02
Alfa Romeo will be better. Their car was decent last year already, but they lost 1 second because of Ferrari power unit.

I don‘t really see them above Alpine or Alpha Tauri tho.

Imo really difficult to predict this season since there actually quite a few interesting changes. Finally a good 2nd driver in Red Bull..automatically improves Max as well. Vettel will have new motivation and a car that finally suits him. Ferrari with a much better power unit than last year so all Ferrari cars will improve. McLaren with Mercedes engine. Alonso quite good in being "best of the rest" despite having a shit car. Alonso will definitely beat Ocon.
2021-02-26 12:05

Don‘t really know about the Ferrari improvements, they have promised a lot already but did not always deliver. Could go both ways. I have high hopes for Mclaren too. Didn‘t really know where to put Alonso because he had a year off. Also the Alpine isn‘t going to be too bad I think.

F1 was always about money.

Sure money was always a big part, but I feel it was also sport back then, today its more PR and bending over for people with money in a strict controlled save space.

Hmm, Imo corruption and money is more visible today than back in the day, because it‘s investigated much more. But the PR part is true.

You might be right, they could do all the stuff behind closed doors and no internet for the average joe to report to. Media were often conservative too. Back again to niche racing. Like STADIUM SUPER TRUCKS youtube.com/watch?v=euyrdUVXY-M which is great fun to watch, or Aussie Racing Cars Series. Or just Simrace, do the racing yourself :)

Alonso was working miracles in those 2015-17 McLarens, I think if he can't beat Ocon he needs to hang the helmet up. If Ocon beats Alonso it makes Ricciardo look incredible given that he demolished Ocon. People seem to forget Alonso is a generational talent who has been stuck in shit equipment for years (his own fault due to being toxic, admittedly)

Ferrari might be up there closer to Mercedes as they probably got penalized in 2020 for the 2019 oil/fuel burning scandal. This year they should have a lot more power. Max keeps getting a lot of DNFs because of the car...so dunno, wouldn't rate him second.

I think Ocon has a good chance of beating Alonso, ocon improved and deserves to be talked about a bit more imo. Yeah Vettel is a coinflip, could go either way. He has a strong car, but I don‘t know if he still has what it takes. Yeah Tsunoda above Fernando is unlikely, but didn‘t really know how to place him.

Seems pretty reasonable only thing I really disagree with is Ocon over Alonso. Even when you consider the fact that Alonso have had 2 years out of F1 I still don't see Ocon outscoring him considering his performance last year against Ricciardo, I don't think Alonso will outscore him like Ricciardo did but I think that he will be a good margin ahead.
