Idk how people dont realize that money from stickers and other major stuff goes to similar use, it just goes straight to orgs and not to the prize pool

??????????? the same thing is in dota LOL. this is just money on top of it, not for buying autographed items.
2021-02-26 15:22
It is only 1/4 player’s spent money The rest goes to Gaben
2021-02-26 15:11
Valve are paying a fraction of that, it's just money from player base goes to prize pool
2021-02-26 14:17
1 reply
Valve is not paying any fraction of that. That is just 25% (33? don't remember) of what Valve collected through their Battlepass funding it.

Valve only provide 1,6 million. Rest is crowd founded, and only 25% of that goes to the prize pool, rest they keep.

32 ---- 25 x ----- 100 25x = 32*100 25x = 3200 x = 3200/25 x = 128 in million

Yes. The money that goes to the prize pool is only 25% of what they make from the battle pass
2021-02-26 14:36
WTF for real? why such difference? dota have much more viewrs?

Dota has a battle pass, some of the battle pass money goes towards TI prize pool
2021-02-26 14:19
I think DotA used to have close to CS majors but just bit more for viewers For TI's, prize pool is also made up of a sort of battle pass that people can buy and that goes towards the prize pool, thats what gives it the difference No idea why they dont do that for CS, the 'operations' are similar enough and imo could be combined with the major viewer pass to make it more profitable and crowd fund for CS as well

soon tier 1 cs players will make a strike ordering volvo to do the same with cs
2021-02-26 14:23
In term of viewership dota 2 has chinese audience which is huge cs:go don't have. Dota2 also has access to an easier coverage since "it doesn't promote terrorism"
2021-02-26 14:40
They don't do it for CS because they don't want to starve the third party TOs like ESL. Non TI tourneys for DOTA have much less viewership than the TI.
2021-02-26 15:24
cuz cs's theme doesnt attract sponsors, tv channels etc since it is related to terrorism i think.

2021-02-26 14:17
I wish valve could give us 0.1% of all the money we spend on skins and put it towards bigger prize pools.

2021-02-26 14:35

yeah but tbf is probs would be scary if the same was for cs, like imagine if say 10% of the money valve makes from the community market goes to the majors, probs 50 million$ prize pool or something

10% of money from market? ur so dumb. Why would valve put $5 into prize pool if I buy a skin from you for $50?

no silly, of the 15% tax they put on community market
2021-02-26 15:15
Dota has biggest prise pools on internationals... But its also a bad thing, cuz a lot of teams ignore other tournaments.

its not the same thing. dota has autographed items which is same as sticker capsules. no money goes to the tournament from autographed items (dota stickers)

1. the prizemoney for the international 2019 was $34,330,068 dota2.prizetrac.kr/international2019 2. the prizepool for the next international (maybe 2021) will be $40,018,195 dota2.prizetrac.kr/international10 3. for reference: csgo 2019: $21,995,191.55 esportsearnings.com/history/2019/games csgo 2020: $15,847,953.77 esportsearnings.com/history/2020/games

I don't understand why people care about prize money, u don't win any of it right ? So what does it change for you. It's like in any sports, who the fuck cares how much the world cup winner gets or the super bowl winner gets ? No one
2021-02-26 15:21
Next International will have 60+mil$ 😎
2021-02-26 15:23
I rather invest 32 million in fixing the game, than having it as a prize pool
2021-02-26 15:24
im gonna guess 31 million is from china money since TI china billionaires loves this game like in league
