With the departure of sjuush and refrezh, MAD Lions now have two old and washed up players (Hooxi and roeJ) + TMB. Hooxi can't frag since 2018 but now things are really downhill for him. I think that's disband at this point.
So if you were to hire for MAD Lions, who would you call, considering a dannish roster? I'll list some benched/free agent players that might be available:
aizy - b0rup - cajunb - gade - jugi - Kjaerbye - kristou - larsen - MSL - niko - Queenix
Hooxi is IGLing so he doesn't need to frag that much lol

Not even in 2015 did this really hold any merit, the only reason it worked for Pronax was because fnatic were so damn good at the time, Pronax didn't need to frag.

everyone hes mentioned is benched or free agent, not really destroying teams if youre not gutting rosters like happens to them
they are just a feeder team now. org full of idiots and no hunden to bail them out with outstanding talents.

True roeJ is not great, but b0rup is pretty good especially because he doesn't mind taking the bitch roles and playing with the mp9 a lot etc. he is also a smart clutch player, I like to compare him with tiziaN

Well, every team needs somebody for a bitch role, b0rup might be acceptable as support

Kjaerbye was Astralis entry fragger, you probably started watching CSGO very recently to not know this. Probably entry fragger in North as well (I don't remember).
Godsent's awper is felps, which is not the role he usualy play. TACO was always an entry fragger and a second awper when required - that's why liquipedia would show Entry fragger + awper.
What you are failing to see is that riflers can change roles ingame. A player shouldn't be reduced to a single role.

Kjaerbye and dupreeh roles were overlaping back in the days. Kjaerbye was playing as entry until 2nd major of 2017. After that, Astralis decided to switch the role towards dupreeh. That was a big factor for Kjaerbye's exit.
Taco, just like coldzera back in Liquid/SK, was the second awper when required, hence his title in Liquipedia. That doesn't come out of thin air.
As for Godsent, you're right - not a dedicated awper.

Hooxi can't carry his own weight, can't frag at all. Every round is 4x5 for MAD Lions.
MAD Lions can do a stupidly good roster and rebuild the entire squad by nothing, if they want to stay danish.
- MSL, instead of HooXi (IGL/2nd AWPer), Also you can bring back Acilion, or sign another upcoming danish IGL.
- TMB as main AWPer. And if you want another AWPer you can get NaTo, larsen, JuGi...
- b0RUP, instad of roeJ because his younger and have more potential (support/Rifler)
- niko as entry-fragger
- aizy, cajunb, gade, Kjaerbye, kristou, Queenix

Although a good team, Acilion and Nato have contracts with other teams, might be a good amount of money for buyouts.
Mad lions probs will sign some danes then in a few months sell them

Always a possibility, but would end up being more or a farm team than anything else.
IMO ditching kjaerbye, cajunb, and aizy is a step forward for Danish CS.
In terms of what they can provide, kjaerbye is a big question mark.
Cajunb/ aizy are just bad, and have been for years.

Good arguments.
Although I might agree with cajunb/aizy part, I think kjaerbye is pretty solid, he's not worse than these options for sure.
Nato is very good but he just signed a contract with Lyngby Vikings, don't know how much of a buy-out mad lions wants to pay.

IMO mad lions will go for free agents. If they’re building a new team at this level, it’s not worth paying buyouts considering the available free agents.
Kjaerbye is a real big question mark for me because he never got back to major winning form, or anywhere near it. It’d be great to see him actually make it, but if he can or not is up to him. To be fair, a team like MAD Lions might be a good place for him to grind back to the top.

Oh yeah, for sure not worth paying buyouts, specialy with high chances of losing the player for another team down the road if you consider mad lion's historic.
Only with benched/free agents available, they can make a top2 team of Denmark.

imo I'd initially put Heroic over whatever roster ML can assemble, but it ultimately depends on what pieces they can grab and if their in game leader will be able to put them together in a functional manner.

Oh yeah for sure, Heroic is really solid right now. Maybe what I meant was that, only with the available "free" players, ML can assemble a team that has potential to be 2nd of Denmark. But that's for the long run.
I agree that the key piece for this roster is the IGL. He'll need at least to pull his own weight.
