Mm in NA means nothing. I’m SEM in mm and faceit 6. SoloQ only in both. From my understanding, these shouldn’t be matching. NA just has too many cheaters to reliably rank up. Third party is the way to go.

MM rank is meaningless: cheaters, griefers, braindead casuals, you should be focusing on faceit rank and trying to find a group of like minded team mates to improve with.

It took me like 1k hours to get out of silver but to be fair I wasn’t playing consistently enough to rank up

First rank was MG1 (played 1.6), climbed to LE/LEM at about 1k hours. I stopped playing MM since then and went to faceit

I guess it depends on how well you spend your time playing. I have 700 hours, reached GN1 today but I've been playing on a daily basis for just 2 months and I have probably 100 hours just queueing/with the game open/watching GOTV matches. For the first half, I was just having fun and not caring about improving cause I was too tired from work. I also have a friend that has +3k hours between Source, 1.6 and GO and his highest ranking was DMG. I don't get why people keep saying low ranks should play third-party tho, should we really try to play on Faceit? Won't my teammates rage cause I'm shit? Cause that's how it works on MM tbh.

Just disregard any EU flags you see in here, they don't have the same cheating issues as NA/Asia. My friends I lived with in Philippines were SEM here, can't even counterstrafe. After 2 months in Turkey they are MGE lmao.
