Just finished this game and had a blast, any other kind of open world horror games you would recommend ? I played both outlast games already, should I play resident evil 3 and 2 remake ?

The first one - yes. It had some weird, akward mechanics even at the time of it's release. But game itself is amazing. It has that tempo that never slows down. Second game is better by all the means, and graphics are still looking insanely good.
If you overcome some stupid shit that game developers put in that game you will have a lot of fun

The plot was kind of just there... It was more to revitalise and spark the franchise after RE 6 effectively killed it alongside Operation: Raccoon City.

To be fair, it wasn't really about un-killable hillbilly's either, it was just proving the point that RE games can still provide the scares, as that was long gone after 4.

Yeah, you're right, it's a very scary game, very well done game as well... I just feel that if they changed the name of Resident Evil 7 to SOILWORK, after 20 years, young people would not notice that "SOILWORK" was a resident evil game (Just playing it)
But if the same happens to Resident Evil 2/3... Yeah, you could easily figure out thats the following of something.
Resident evil is more about viruses spreading, bioweapons and physicall damage... This psych shit / Illusion world it just doest fit good... But the game is a must for those who like
The Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes are great fun to play. If you enjoyed 7, I highly recommend those.

- The Evil Within is good fun, the first game is better than the second, in my opinion.

Amnesia Machine for Pigs is trash but these three custom stories make a far better use of the assets and textures provided in that game.

I finished soma few years ago, wasn't that scary or something particularly that I liked about the game, just a good game with good story.
I tried playing alien isolation 2 times and gave up after few hours, wasn't that fun for me
Amnesia is old and don't know if I should even bother playing them, game is probably outdated

Both 2 and 3 remakes are good but 2 is kind of short, re8 comes out in may i believe which should be just like 7

Resident Evil 4 is my favourite game in the series and it is because of the success of 4 that we got both 5 and 6 in the way that they are now, the newer perspective of the horror-survival genre.

I don't like scary films but I can play scary games easily.
I'm also not really scary games type of guy but I play them from time to time and now I got more interested in horror games than ever
The evil within 1 & 2 both great.
Could play resident evil 4-5-6 (5 and 6 should be played in splitscreen coop for the best experience)

Shadows of the damned is like a weird resident evil.
Dead space 1 & 2 are superb.
If you want first person then I dunno, maybe the amnesia series, soma.. There are like 100 first person horror games released every years so..

RE 5 and 6 really need another person, the AI are truly dreadful, especially Sheva in 5. 6 was slightly fixed to be better but Sheva was unbearable as an AI partner.
All three of Dead Space games are good fun but the first one remains the best for me.
Shadows of the Damned was definitely unique, though I found it lacked in the scare department.

Never tried re5 & 6 with AI so cannot comment on that. But the AI would probably be a better team mate then my actual mate who was rushing from fights to collect loot, xp and hoard all the bullets even though Im left with all the enemies..
Shadows of the damned was WEIRD, we dont need to sugercoat it by saying unique. Its weird as hell xD I did not personally like it but I know others do.
Also I forgot, an underrated hiddem gem called cold fear. Its very much like re4 but hey cannot go wrong there taking inspiration from that game..
