In my country 5600X 1.73x more expensive. How is it going in your country? AMD or Intel?

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
i bought the 5600x (for 350$) since its the best cpu for csgo and its a huge upgrade from my 4/4 7600k

9900kf is on sale here for roughly 360€ which is lower than the 10700k. Wondering if I shoud upgrade my CPU now

even as an amd fan i would say its a good deal but only if you multitask a lot, it would require a good cooler and a bigger power supply

mens h115i and evga g3 850w should do the trick however I think I might have to change from my "small" H510 to something bigger

Bought the low end i3-10100F for 80€, slightly better than my old i5-6500. At least at the low end for gaming, when I bought some months ago, intel clearly better priced.

Good choice if you don't want to go for 2678v3 from Ali.

not worth imo, switching out mobos for an i3 when you already have an i5 intel constantly switching their sockets too so your current mobo for i3 will become irrelevant soon as well

My mom needed a new pc asap, we didn't want to spend a ton of money. And you know how it is, below a certain price point a pc is absolute shit, 450€ seemed about the minimum I should spend and that ended up being a bit better than my pc so I just built a new one for me and she kept mine.

well this makes sense

Every current CPU will become "irrelevant" (basically it's omegalul, CPU can't be irrelevant cuz of some new socket or something, 2600k from 2011 didn't become irrelevant in 2017 because of 7700k and gave you 60+ almost in all games) soon cuz of DDR5.

in my country 5600x is 1.2 times more expensive than 10600kf. I already knew who created this thread even before clicking it btw

I would go for 10700KF in that situation.

if you mainly play csgo 5600x is the right option considering that 10700KF paired with a Z490 mb would be a lot more expensive than the 5600x + b450m/550m, bratishka

Wouldn't say so, at least in Russia (10700KF can beat 5800x, even 10700F can do it), but yeah, it's better to pair 10600kf to 5600x (but ofc 10600kf will lose in CS:GO cuz of cache size)

Can beat it at what? I have a 5800x and not even single one of intel's cpu's comes close to it in csgo lol. Not biased, just the truth.

I sold my old PC when Ampere was announced, worried it would lose all remaining value. Then bought my new PC with gud components, but only an R3 3200G APU, because I wanted to wait for big navi/3060 whatever and Zen 3... And so here I am stuck on integrated graphics for half a year... I should've just bought a cheap 1080 Ti in september for 320 USD and be happy.... If only I knew GPU market would end up this fucked.

Feel sorry for you in that hard situation. You should OC your RAM to 3400+ mhz and IGPU (if you know how to do it).

iGPU and CPU already overclocked, tried tightening RAM timings but it's a cheapo 3200 MHz CL 16 corsair dual rank chip, so it can't overclock for shit. Mobo officially supports 3200 OC max anyway, eh. To be fair, it's surprisingly good for what it is, I'm just annoyed I'm usually about 20 fps short of 144 fps average in CS, gotta drop res, etc. Also I somehow got a top 7 result on 3DMark TimeSpy if you ignore the multiple entries from the same ppl lol: 3dmark.com/search#advanced?test=spy%20P&..

Did you update your BIOS? You can OC Zen+ CPU up to 3600 (RAM) mhz with it.

If I remember correctly it basically has one of the newest AGESA anyway, above that are only the new updates which enable Zen 3 but disable everything before Zen2, the point of no return, but I guess I'll check and see, nothing to lose right? I used to have an RX 570 as well, from a miner who lied about it not being used, despite being clogged with dust lol. It worked, but had to use workarounds for drivers to function properly, something was fucked in the firmware. Now it's some other guys problem :D Tho to be fair I could always make it work, not my fault he couldn't, and the issue is only with windows, how it signs drivers, in Linux it works no prob. (But then gaming on it sucks D)
2021-03-04 20:05
yes intel is the value brand now KEKW

10600k is 1.5x more, 5600x not in stock

i have a 9600k i am quite happy but i would love to have the hyperthreading of the 10,6k

Well, if you OC 9600k then you can have better performance than 3950x.

Is 10600 or 10700 equivalent to 5600? 10700f is 250 euro
2021-03-04 20:04

10600KF equal to 5600x. 10700F kinda equal too, but both 10600kf or 10700f can beat 5800x (depends on game) 10700KF clearly => 5800x 10900KF =< 5950x.
2021-03-04 20:07
Probably gonna buy a 10850k for £365 cause a 5800x is £410. Basically the same performance but Intel has two extra cores
2021-03-04 20:25
i calculated it and since 2012 the IPC and clock rate on the 200 euro i5 model have both improved by 10% so my 4670k is still fine with OC. its not worth going for the 10600kf + new mobo + new ram for 21% better performance. 6 cores instead of 4 and hyperthreading dont matter for csgo or other games i play. its mostly single core performance. i would need to buy that all cores 5Ghz 9900KS cpu that costs 999 euro, to get a meaningful upgrade. if someone told me when i bought it, that i would be using this cpu i bought in 2012, in 2021, i would say they were nuts lol silicon limit is really hitting hard if you need a new cpu just buy a second hand older model and OC it
