I watched the first 4 movies when I was young. Its alright.
Wtf I just realized I watched the goblet of fire in theaters when I was 7. That shit was scary
Books >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> movies.
But even then, they're quite far from a literary masterpiece.
weebs are worse than potter fans
Id understand how in the later movies they can teleport anywhere like doesnt that completely defeat the purpose of anything.
And a gun would be so much more effective than magic
Yes and books > movies as usual.
yeees cant wait for hogwarts legacy:)
was likeable years ago
stopped being likeable suddenly idk how
one of the best series ever made especially for kids there arent better movie
Overrated but nothing comes close to it in terms of story and visuals at least for me. I don't know how hard is it to make a franchise but I have so many ideas, surely people in movie industry can come with something, when was the last time we got something decent ?
Overrated but better than anime
Harry Potter is good for kids. Letting the character grow 1 year in each book/film is brillant, if you pace the kids reading/watching accordingly. No good for a 12-yo to binge the whole series.
Me and a couple of other teachers will be working with 6th graders in an England/Harry Potter theme at the end of this month, across a number of english, danish, history and gym classes.
There are lots of small inspirations - like the mirror that shows what you desire the most. Harry sees his parents, Ron sees himself as team captain. Also lots of mythical creatures to look up. It also has some moral lessons along the way, like "Not judging a book by it´s cover".
Last month I built the LEGO Hogwarts Express for myself, brillant model.
The books are not really my thing. More into traditional fantasy, like LotR. But I think the films are really well made.
One note on Fantasy books: DON´T read Game of Thrones, as you will surely regret it. First book is good, but their quality decline as quickly as each new book grows longer. Last book is 1200 pages, that should be boilt down to 200.
Love it watched all movies multiple times
Yes I like Liazz aka Carry Potter very much. Underrated imo
best book i have read btw
Goblet of Fire still remains my favourite. It still had the 'fun' aspect while retaining the dark theme. Order of the Phoenix remains my least favourite.
Books >> Movies
They were some of the first books i had read
Binged the books reading them 1 a day when 4 was the newest one, so I was like 12-13 years old at the time. Forgot about them once there was nothing new to digest, until EIGHT YEARS LATER I'm seeing this punker girl in another town and she wants to see the fifth edition movie, so we go see it and I fall in love again. This time I read all the books...except the newest one wasn't out yet, so I made sure to buy it immediately in the original language once it came out. Also watched all the movies with friends and loved it all.
As said, the books >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the movies, but this is true with almost every movie...except Fight Club.
yeah i got the first couple books when i was 11 and they came out around then so i was in the right age bracket. it was alright but i kinda stopped caring by book 5 or 6, it just got boring and i was too old for it at that point.
Yes. I enjoyed the books when I was younger. I'm 27 now so I was bang on the age for reading them back when they came out.
I've actually recently been re-watching the movies, having not really seen them much since they first came out, and I've been really enjoying them, much more than I remember.
I was fucking addicted to it till 6th book. Read all of them multiple times.
I hated the 7th so much i literally forgot what happens in it.
Read all of them hvnt watched all of them tho
The story is kinda shit. Harry potter wasted a lot of potential
the books are amazing and the movies are great as well. People who end up bringing up JK Rowling controvercies and saying the entire series is shit have probably never read a single book in their lives
Harry potter movies are my childhood
ofc it's a classic best childhood movies
tbh story sucks but the overall universe with wizards and shit is well made and fun
I read books 1-4 like 6 times each as a kid
whomever thinks HP > LOTR stop watching movies
Used to be one of my favourite series, books and movies. Although I still love the books immensely, my fascination with the movies is over for the most part. Except for perhaps Draco and Snape.
Even made a portrait of Draco a couple of weeks ago.
Most overrated movie series of all time. I liked the first 4 movies as a kid, the rest of them were complete garbage. And the first 4 aren't very good anymore when I rewatched them as an adult, just nostalgia.
I watched the first movie and while it started off with a really enjoyable first half, the moment that ogre in the bathroom came around is when it started to go downhill. The acting was atrocious, especially in serious moments. Acting for me either makes or breaks a movie/show. I know they were kid actors, but still.
i hated it at first now dont mind at all, nice to rewatch once per 5 years or so
Harry potter world is the best world ever created
Yeah, he's alright.
But Draco Malfoy is the queen!
i watched 20x times the whole movies .. and read the books in 3 months
Recently rewatched the last 4 movies and have to say that they are actually pretty shit
nah pretty boring honestly
I've seen few movies, but I never got into that to be honest. I dont even remember what the hell I watched
I have to watch all of Harry Potter and LOTR movies some day
