Thanks chap, maybe our lucky day is just behind the corner, maybe we deserve some sunshine too. Let's see what the future brings.
>USSR had less freedom and worse healthcare than the Empire
Instead of progressing we regressed congrats
Putin strongest man in da world . MAD ?
USSR > RUSSIAN EMPIRE OMG
"Before ussr, russian empire was one of the quickest growing economies, had very high birthrate and everything was improving. Then ww1 happened where they had to fight big front with corrupt generals so the losses were very big. Then the revolution happened"
Actually, no. Revolution happened because two emperors in a row rejected to give people more power and freedom. There was a lot of ways and possibilities to make Russia a constitutional monarchy, but neither Aleksandr III nor Nikolay II was ready to lose even a part of their authority.
Wasn't pre ww1 Russia shitty.
but the dictatorship is truth
every time russia had/has a dictator
you're probably right only in the US and Japan economic growth was higher. the problem was education, about 55% of men and 25% of women could read and write, so they were brainwashed by communist plague that destroyed everything
I don't think this is historically accurate. Russia had some metropolitan cities like St Petersburg but most of everything else was still peasant country. The tsar did not encourage democracy or anything of the sort and that is why people looked for a revolution. Look up the year 1905 in Russia and it sums up that time excellently.
Their army was shit in ww1 and got to the point where they smelted down church bells to make weapons.
and now putin till he dies...feelsbadman
this is why they play cs, to make the pain go away...
Brejnev ruined the USSR, they were on a good path to an open market and a normal development
it was their option, but dont feel bad for baltics who couldnt do anything and got fucked from both countries. Estonia before wars were richer and had better life quality than Finland
'' russian empire was one of the quickest growing economies''
The October Revolution was the best thing to ever happen to Russia.
In Russian Empire there was only 17% of literate population, but after the Soviets got the power, the number became 98%.
Russian Empire was an agrarian country, the Soviets made USSR an industrialised country, they introduced electricity, they made all equal (just a reminder that before 1917 there were still estates in Russia).
The Soviet Union was the country that won the WWII and liberated the Eastern Europe from the nazis. It was by no means a flawless country, but it was MUCH better than Russian Empire.
Unfortunately, after 1991 the former Soviet republics just fucked up everything the Soviets built for them.
Before ussr, russian empire was one of the quickest growing economies
Wtf have I just read?
All I need to say to prove my opinion is that there were the Emancipation Reform in 1861 while London got its own Underground in 1863. Nearly nothing was changing. You said that Russian Empire was growing, but only due to cohesion of the people. I’m currently on this period (1825-1855) in school so you can’t change my mind. I won’t argue with you.
"a booming economy" in pre WW1 Russia just means more money for the oligarchs controlling the country. Their economic system was pretty much medieval serfdom. A good economy in that sort of society does not mean what it means in a free capitalist society.
Before USSR Russians had to work for owner for 12-15 hours per day xDD
name checks out.
it wasnt good at all to be at USSR
polish lithuanian commonwealth > all
Can confirm. Thx for bringing it up.
Yes they got "unlucky" for 100 years
Russia pre revolution was terrible, they were 100 yrs behind western society, they didn't industrialised at the time and were using law and system from 15th century
laughs in brazilian unlucky
