The idea of a guilty pleasure is stupid. Why be guilty about anything you enjoy?

Probably depends on the personality of someone. If they are pretty out-going, I'd imagine them to be liberal and free with the music they listen to. But for reserved people, probably are scared of what others think about them, as if a song they like is trash to others.

Eh i mean i am extremely self conscious and i feel no shame in listening to weird or unliked music
2021-03-08 08:28
Guilty because people don't usually openly accept that they like it. If you tell your friends that you love Despacito then it's not a guilty pleasure. If you say Despacito = trash and then listen to it 100s of times, it becomes a guilty pleasure.

Yes i realize why people have guilty pleasures. I am merely saying that it is apointless to feel guilt about enjoying any music to the extent that you lie about your enjoyment of it. Forget about "guilty pleasures", embrace music. Fuck it. Who cares what others think about your taste in music. External validation is worthless.

I have 900+ tracks like this in my playlist. Style might be different, but the same genre. Some people might find it pompous/full of pathos/pretentious/etc, but for me it's rather inspirational. youtu.be/QzD0HGDaQQ8 youtu.be/PJaCVKTgegw youtu.be/u10Y55O_ksk youtu.be/NKN9Yi2REYI youtu.be/QG_2ooaB7rk youtu.be/rD8F7bR8las youtu.be/IA7uvgaADjw

Classical is nice for cleaning the ears out of music you heard that you dont like, progressive rock is interesting and I like it's style. Metal has its time and place, and I appreciate its heavier art style.
