That childhood moment

When you learned you wouldn't never be happy? I was saving money for some time to buy a Game Boy (used ofc check flag). Then I sold all my Pokemon cards to complete needed money. I was just waiting for an offer. My mom needed it to pay rent... I hid somewhere to cry.

Sad man. Was it natural death or favela shooting?

I’m pretty sure that living on the street for a month would have a been a way lower point in your life than not getting a gameboy

Of course, that's when I "manned up". It's the point of this thread.

Never, I was basically set up for life anyway ever since I was a little kid. Good looks, good supportive family, my health is so-so, but I have everything I can really ask for. Everyone has different perspectives, but remember no matter what background you come from, your life is yours to live. Go out and do what makes you happy. It might be easy for me to say though.

Good that you are grateful and shows compassion for less fortunate people. God bless.

Yea, I recognise that I have to be grateful for the life I have, my parents and grandparents came from nothing / very low wages and always reminded me as I was growing up, taught me good family values. So I definitely appreciate the life I have. Sadly a lot of people don't realise it :( Good luck in the future, I hope you find something that makes you happy!

"Give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things which should be changed, and the Wisdom to distinguish the one from the other." Repeat it every day, helps tremendously. Happiness isn't about having what you want, it is about knowning what you can have and can't have, then accept it.

All is better now, at least money isn't a problem. That was 20 years ago... Thanks for your wisdom.

When I was a litel kid one of my tooth fell out. I didn't tell anybody about it and I hid it under pillow when I went to sleep. Everybody was talking that they got monies under pillow in the morning like some sort of exchange. You can pretty much imagine my disappointment when I realised it was all a fucking lie
