Low fps on high end pc
Jordan Mangsle
I'm getting 180-200 fps on low settings on csgo after formatting pc, i tried updating drivers but it didn't do anything, anyone familiar?

Lots of different things can boost your fps. Enable multicore rendering, -high in launch options

RAM doesn't do shit it CS, and neither does GPU either, CPU is what makes a difference in cs. 16 vs 8 gb of ram makes 0 difference in this game.

yes it does make a difference. I know csgo is a cpu based game but ram can fix some stuttering and increase/decrease your fps and this comes from someone who went from 8 to 16x1 to 4x4
2021-04-03 20:12
depends on the res I guess im one of the few who uses 1920x1080 and my heavily oced 1060 is at 70-100% all of the time(250-550fps i5 10600k stock 3900mhz 2x8 ram) my fps is literally bottlenecked by the graphics on 1920x1080 4xmsaa medium shadows
2021-04-04 08:58
I used to have 1070 and i5 6600 - barely had 144 fps on mixed graphic settings on 1920x1080. I think it's just CS mens.. with every update it eats more and more FPS.. nothing you can do about it

There’s no definite truth, we all share opinions, and people either agree or don’t. I also prefer stretched res, but if he likes to play on high res, why not? The game has an option to choose. I have a non-k intel, cuz I didn’t have many options, and it still works fine, am I retarded, because I didn’t want the best one, but the one which is enough? LOL , there is truth , if i say that the sun is a square I`m not giving a opinion , i`m just being dumb. Its the same thing there , maybe you dont want to be sure but just because you arent sure about something doesnt mean it isnt a fact. For exemple theres not a single logic to buy a non K XX700 if you can get a 400-600K and make it better than the 700 non K one. Its a fact , just look it up if you want to be sure.

In Ulleticals benchmarks you get that period to show the absolute worst case scenario where FPS drops to 230, 1. you won't notice this in game 2. 5600x, a processor twice as expensive drops to 260. this idiot just came to me with a csgo benchmark video...10400f is just a bit worse than 11400f and it's nowhere near close to getting constant 300+ also, indeed the intel 10400f and 11400f are decent enough to play csgo in 2021, a game that came out in 2012. it doesn't change the fact that non k processors are scams. 11400 doesn't have a k version, it is a budget processor for people that can't afford to buy the high end processors. buying a 10600 instead of a 10600k means that you got scamed. did your monkey brain comprehend it this time? typical hltv ape, probably owns a 6400 processor or something...

I can explain that. When u are playing on laptop the laptop uses the intel chip and the nivida chip at the same time in order to save power. This is called nivida optimus mode and currently very few gaming laptops offer an option to disable optimus(also known as hybrid mode). However when u connect a monitor to ur laptop hdmi or display port it usually connects directly to the Gpu removing the bottleneck caused by intel HD graphics. If u have any questions let me know. Also I recommend checking ur laptop model to see if u can disable it

limited fps makes map loading times faster. also imo a stable fps is superior to a fps that is jumping around. makes system latency more constant
2021-04-03 08:33
Its in console, but you can also bind it in launch commands. Console will do the job tho. It enable multicore. On -1 its auto on 2 it forces it. People get different results with -1 or 2. You need to try yourself and see whats best for you. For the fps max 400 is the default. And its enough. You can have them unlocked but will make ur pc struggle more for no reason.

quite frankly on high end pc's putting settings higher will result in more fps. try 'disabling fullscreen optimizations' > C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive > rightclick csgo.exe > properties > compatibility mat_queue_mode 2 in console is also another option download a program called 'Process Lasso' to help prioritize your csgo game and depending on your rig core affinity can also help a great deal also how is image being projected on screen, do you have it on GPU scaling / Display scaling? putting some specs would be helpful aswell.

what are the differences between gpu scaling and display scaling?
2021-04-04 11:37
1 reply
depends on your monitor if it's available to you or not. GPU scaling basically makes it so your GPU render the image to your monitor which usually causes slightly more input delay because your GPU is scaling it so your monitor can project it, which takes time to do. If you have a monitor that support display scaling, it means that it has it's own image scaler built inside where the monitor does all the 'calculating' and projecting by itself and relieves that stress from your GPU which leads to faster communication between the action you're performing to the point where it's projected on your screen. tldr; display scaling has less input delay than GPU scaling if you have a monitor with a built in scaler. u can check this YT link if u want more in depth explanation: it's the long version, u can also look at shorter ones from fr33thy or kajzerd, but i feel they explain it so u can easily understand.

Remember cs is a "processor" game, so if u have medium processor and good graphic card ur pc will still run cs on average fps cuz its all about processor.

There's so many options and variations and not all systems run the same. Most important for all is NVIDIA settings and CPU settings. Your GPU itself doesn't play big part in this. 1 - Google "NVIDIA settings for csgo", most of the results will show you the same options. Watch out for things such as Low Latency Mode. You would think setting it to Ultra is the best option, but for CPU powered game best is to leave it OFF etc. Just set it to CSGO settings and experiment with some options. 2 - Check your monitor refresh rate in NVIDIA if it is set to max. 3 - Unpark all cpu cores or at least change power plan settings and increase minimum processor power to 60-100. There's a lot of free softwares that do that, like ParkControl etc. or you can google it how to do it in the registy yourself. 4 - Create autoexec.cfg file in your csgo/cfg folder and add cl_updaterate 128, cl_cmdrate 128, rate 786432 and cl_interp settings based on your network speed. 5 - Add -tickrate 128 in your launch options

don`t use Ultra, its for the 60-144 fps games I think O&O ShutUp 10 with recommend settings should fix his problem

all console commands are patched, also all launch commands are usesless and piece of shit in csgo, the only thing you can do, limit to 100-120-144-240-300 fps via MSI afterburner or nvidia/amd driver. that's it, stop creating same topics over and over again..

Update: I did all the following and it's fixed 1. Update GPU drivers 2. Update sound drivers 3. Update bios (2016-2020) 4. use different NVIDIA panel settings 5. verify game integrity 6. Restart 7. Launch options "-tickrate 128 -novid -high -refresh 240 -nojoy" 8. Disable full-screen optimisations 9. OC'ed my GPU now i'm getting a stable 300+ FPS so i don't get jitters when playing on my 240hz monintor, thank you all for helps mens)

I think GPU settings was the problem, 1. don`t use -high , thats cause mouse slugging 2. don`t use windows latency reduce option in Game Mode 3. turn off Background apps in windows options good luck

Please run 3DMark Demo BM (free) and check if its a valid result for your H/W. Also, run the "fps map" in csgo so we get a better idea of your current performance. But yea, 200fps seems too low for me.... Settings low, whats your res?

Check you have the drivers from the motherboard vendor installed and not just running the Windows default ones, that can make a big difference.

9 times out of 10, people that need help forgot about something stupid, so: make sure monitor is plugged into gpu, no mobo. make sure you are using drivers for gpu instead of windows one(can find in device manager) check if your pc is throttling while you play. get an anti-virus to check for malware.

Ur from Jordan, u sure you actually have a high end PC or just an average one, what are your specs
2021-04-03 14:52
CSGO is main CPU, try to OC it, and a i5 its not a high end PC.

ok here is how to fix im SURE it will help. -make a new steam account and download csgo,( you dont have to make a new account if you already have a second account -launch csgo and set up all your settings, and you can play a bit if you want then close the game -Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata -There should be atleast 2 folders, one for your old account and one for your new. To work out whihc is the new just go to your steam inventory > trade offers > Who can send me Trade Offers? then scroll down to your trade URL and your number will be within the url -So now open the folder of the new account and copy all the folders ( the folder names include: 7, 730, config, ugc, ugcmsgcache). -now open the old account folder and delete all the folders, and paste the folders from the other new account folder -After that start csgo on your old account and IM SURE it will work amazing. Only thing I will say though is that csgo messes up often so if the fps drops or you get stutters, just copy and paste the fodlers again. I do this like every 2 weeks.

I have a terrible input lag problem with CS Source. With a gtx 970 and 6700k fps remains near 300 but there's an insane amount of input lag, any idea what may be causing it?
2021-04-16 17:12
Damn read the whole thread, tried or already had all the settings, fps still low. I used to have 400 fps with better graphics but now i have drops to 100... Not in a situation whrere i can buy new pc. Maybe i just gotta quit csgo since cant compete on the same level with these lags.
2021-11-30 18:11
Unlucky, i get same FPS on 2015 PC.
2021-11-30 18:12
Why would you format your ssd? Anyways you should go through the usual windows optimization settings like setting energy options to "most performance", turning off game bar etc.
2021-12-22 12:25
Try putting putting this command on the console “fps_max unlimited”
2021-12-30 16:28
I got a significant FPS boost from following the guide at: Make sure to check the box for Disable full screen optimizations, but do not check the box for Run as administrator. Also, no need to reinstall graphics drivers if no issues. Edit: updated info
