Idk im also invested in BTC and crypto in general since a bit more than a year now but right now there are so many people talking about crypto, even my grandfather asked me what bitcoin is. I dont think people investing right now are way ahead of the heard like they always say. If you invest now be prepared to hold for the next 4 years AT LEAST. I would not put my money into crypto right now. You are pretty much doing what the average Joe is doing and thats what you should not do. Gold Silver and Platinum are good choices right now, considering Biden etc

you are not suppose to hold for 4 years.. you're suppose to sell and take profits when the bull run is ending and reinvest again at a low price

thing is, it is very hard for the average person to judge that. and as #64 said, bitcoin is so popular rn, it is impossible to guess which way it is going, except for that it will probably go up in a long run
2021-04-08 17:49
So what are cryptocurrencies made for? The power about bitcoin is not that you can send someone cash 10.000km ago, its that you can send someone cash 10 years from now. Also, it seems that u are blessed, by being able to do that. Different countries = different tax laws. If I´d be doing that while still living here, it would probably be around as profitabel as just investing my money into some good ETF`s lol
2021-04-08 17:51

where do you live where taxes are that bad? either way ur going to have to pay taxes at the end of the day before u can decide if it's even worth investing rather than go into an ETF, gold sucks just invest in a tech ETF. 40-50% returns each year, if those returns are better than what u are expecting from bitcoin 1 year from now ur better off.

I live in germany, if you hold coins at least 1 year, you do not have to pay taxes. If you dont you do, and those are high taxes here.
2021-04-09 03:05
Adding to that, the purpose behind cryptos are swapping, many people just see the cash not the technologial evolution. Most dont even COMPLETELY understand the projects they put their money in. They just jump on the train. If everybody would be doing that, also including the biggest hodlers, your coins would be worth nothing except the energy.

so let me get this straight you are spending all your money on something that doesnt exist? on something so volatile that a single tweet by elon musk drops or raises its price by 100% you are literally buying air in hope that other people will buy it also, there isnt a single thing and justification on buying bitcoin, elon musk buys it, pumps the price up after buying with his tweets and everything, then he dumps it and goes out with 30-40% profit.. if you are serious about investing buy stocks or bonds, dont buy air which literally doesnt have any value, it can be worth 0$ one day and 1000000$ other day , it doesnt have any based or nominal value idk why but so many braindead people are buying cryptos and losing money, their justification is that there is some guy who bought bitcoins for 1$ and he is millionaire now, there are stories like that in everything, better buy lottery and you can make more money for less money with same chances as crypto

2021-04-08 17:44
after 2 tweets saying that he will buy bitcoin price was raised by 40%, there isnt any other justification for its growth.. there arent any financial results or anything like you have in stocks.. value is purely based on how many celebrities will pump the price up.. btw look at all thos tech geniuses or whatever and read how they pumped and dumped in matter of weeks... you cannot do that with stocks cause it illegal and elon musk tried doing that with tesla stocks and he stepped down for year or something cause he illegally pumped the tesla stocks up, you probably dont know anything about it cause of 99% people dont know about it cause they arent real investors or traders, they are brainwashed bitcoiners.. also no real investor or fund will ever buy bitcoin or any cryptos, especially retirement funds which are biggest funds in the world, its ilegall for them to buy cryptos so think about it and think how is price supposed to rise? only way is to elon musk keep pumping it up with twitter

Jesus christ ur dumb, can you google? Pension funds have already bought it long time ago. Where did you figure out that they cant buy it :D biggest joke ever. Biggest institutions in the world have bought it, are you playing dumb purposefully or? Do you know what inflation is? Bitcoin is the most scarcest asset there is so its the safest asset vs inflation. Also Elon tweeted last time when it was ~30k so even that argument is gone. im 34 years old first of all so kid yourself. If you cant find the info on which funds and companies have bought, then you should not talk about cryptos. I understand that its human nature to be scared of everything new like people were when internet came. You are confusing bitcoin to other cryptos, other cryptos are like companies and the crypto is their IPO so buying into their crypto you invest into their growth. Then your asking what is it backed by; what is dollar backed by? Nothing. Same goes to gold. Why should bitcoin be backed by something? Bitcoin is store of value unlike other cryptos, it is the best place to put your money into for safekeeping, its scarcest asset in human history and its easier to move and send than gold. But since you dont understand inflation, its not worth to elaborate more.

Don't invest anymore than you can afford to lose, i know it's a cliche but it's true. If you are not able to loose your all savings then don't do it. i'm about to invest in crypto too, but only about 1/5 portion of my savings and i can loose that if it goes bad. Start with smaller size and if it goes well then add more, don't just go all in. People can usually be very short-sighted, investing crypto is long term investment. If you wan't profit fast, then you have to take huge risks investing in altcoins and hope it goes 10-50x in short time.
2021-04-08 16:37
You see, it's a game of odds when it comes to Bitcoin. If it works out, you will laugh at us how stupid we were, if it doesn't, then you will be asking for money like a little B lying alone on the street.

it's not purely speculation, not at all. read more, especially on halvings. also its sharpe ratio is very high. not risky at all. upwards volatility is good

never said it was. ok here I will argue against it. -halving occurs -miners (have to sell btc to cover electricity cost) sell half as much as previously -same demand or more = price goes up - likely more demand since fiat currencies on their way to hyperinflation with rampant quantitative easing BUT BUT SPECULATION IT'S ALL HYPEEEE

A lot of people think btc will be at 100k maybe by years end. Not saying its going to happen by any means.. Its certainly volatile enough where it could get there or it could be at 40k. No real way to tell...Definitely risky, but its a high risk high reward deal. Alt currencies will probably be safer but yield less. That is what do you have to determine... which is the route you wanna take.
2021-04-08 17:28
invest in elongate lul
2021-04-08 17:29
you, how most would say, missed the boat. The room for growth is still there but people believing crypto to STILL be a short term fast investment are down right retarded. What people should now be doing in investing in "altcoins" lesser value coins with the potential for growth. LTC is the best bet at this moment because it hasnt reacted to the extent that the rest of the coins did. Also in 2024 during the next BTC split is the other best time to invest.
2021-04-08 17:34
bitcoin is now almost there what it can ever be... there is no more room for growth so its kinda stupid invest
2021-04-08 17:36

The room for growth is heavily there. But the rate of the gain isnt worth it at this moment. Altcoins like ltc are a guarantee return, ltc for example had its peak of 420 back when btc and eth had their first spike a year after the halving. Now wouldnt you know it one year after the next halving and its became one of the biggest rags to riches story but where has ltc gone? it's only covered half of its peak at 240 rn and pushing fast. over the past 3 days alone ltc itself has risen 20% whereas btc has dropped slightly along with eth rising slightly.

it dont believe bitcoin market cap can be higher what it is now, its already too high and bubble will explode soon. alt coins gonna then rise and fast.

Market cap being now high as some countries have but the real usage of bitcoin is zero... Thats should tell alot for u already, its just farming thing rn and it will explode sooner than anyone expects. Bitcoin is just facelift for cryptocurrencies to have better future and now when more and more people get into coins bitcoin starts to be useless. There is no future usage for bitcoin.
2021-04-08 18:22
Invest it in RMR 2020 sticker capsules instead.
2021-04-08 17:45
No. Just don't invest like a dumbass in anything. Bitcoin is pretty much an unpredictable stock that is very inconsistent. You might profit but most people that do this will lose a lot of money.
2021-04-08 17:46
16 replies
its not unpredictable stock.. stocks have nominal value and financial results.. also there is limited number of stocks, so literally bitcoin is oppo of stock.. thats why there isnt any serious fund or investor which invested in crypto, only musk and crew which pump and dump bitcoin, same as he did with tesla stocks, financial results of tesla sucked, he made 500 tweets about how tesla is great, he was pumping and buying stocks and then he dumped it and screwed millions of small investors

bitcoin is worst cause there is no one to control it, musk literally pumped the bitcoin with tweets, bought bitcoin, pumped it with tweets, sold it, kids lost their money.. thats why everything is fucked there cause there is no nominal value and you dont know if bitcoin is under or over priced

Yeah investing in btc is kinda stupid when you think about it. You jsut put your money into some pile of money that goes up or down by if other people put more money not even buying shares in a company.

yes, i mean its same as betting or lottery, sure there is a lot of people who made a lot of money on it but thats 0.01% of the people which end up in news articles.. in the end of the day you have nothing than speculation that someone is gonna tweet about it.. only way to raise its price cause it doesnt have any material value

Yeah true. Idc how people think BTC will be a currency in the future tho. They just talk Fiat nonsense. The government is backing up fiat currencies but money hungry investors are "backing" BTC

well i would prefer to have something that is 95% covered by the goverement and bonds rather that something that is 0% covered.. nobody serious will invest huge money into btc, same as nobody serious invested in gamestop stocks, its just a little things to keep kids occupied while real business is going on with blue chip stocks and investment funds.. sure you could have made money on gamestop also but it was specific situation which happend first time in the history and other 99.99% of times people lost money and nobody is talking about it

Yeah. I think the "free money no work" drags people into investing which they make it into gambling. I think people think too much another investing and should just invest on stocks that they think will do well etc..

yup.. and they should learn something about investing before investing all of their money like this guy wants haha.. i invested my money into bonds few years back when it was like 7.56% return rate and im perfectly fine with that.. i know my money is 100000% secure and im fine with that small profit in times when everything was volatile and nothing was secure

Crypto is more like currency speculation than stock, and currency speculation is known to be high risk.

2021-04-08 17:58

after trillions and trillions of USD injected around the world, Inflation may explode in the next 2 years... Bitcoin is your protection against that... cons is, the government will attack it.. it will be prohibited in many countries, but you will always be able to trade in p2p market

bitcoin is most volatile financial instrument in the world by far so what is your logic to protect from inflation with most volatile thing that exists?

yes it is volatile, remember it is very recent against other currencies that exists for centuries, but differently than any other currency or investment, is inflation proof, since the creation of BTC is limited. Look SPX for example, we barely passed Covid crisis, and we are in a all time high, people are getting government checks and buying in stock markets. This is not organic... 40% of all USD in the world was created in the last 2 years, and they are printing more and more.. so who is accumulating money or investments in USD can have a real bad surprise in the next years...

Put SOME of your money in bitcoin, but putting it all in is a HUGE gamble. Bitcoin has no inherent value. We have already seen bubbles pop with things that actually have massive value, like houses, so it is reasonable to believe a crypto pop would be MUCH MUCH worse. The money could basically disappear. Crypto is a solid gamble, you're likely to make money off of it, but it makes no sense to actually put your savings there. If you put everything in index funds you'll still get like 2x returns over a couple decades guaranteed without the massive risk. I have most in index funds and some in crypto - and hey man, maybe it'll work out better for you than me, but I would not put my savings and retirement on a gamble like that.

Okay, I can't just see all this "crypto madness" and not at least present very clear objective truths so more and more people don't continue minimizing gains while maximizing losses. *Crypto differs from standard investments is two major MAJOR regards: 2) Crypto's, while presented as a solution amongst the "decent source/etc" it is in face decentralized, aka it's just as volatile as you would expect WallStreet with less/no regulation. 3) ask yourself two questions; are you willing to hold onto potential gains/losses until it moons/plummets? hint, if you don't have a valid reason for either, you DONT know enough about the asset you are risking lose, on the simple fact that it's a trend and you didn't do your own due diligence regarding whatever coin you're investing in.... ***bottom line, unless you know what coin you wish to invest in, understand what affects the value of that coin, and ultimately do the research to make an actual educated decision (excluding any cognitive and authoritative biases), you're literally gambling. bottom line.
